I'm done with this storyline, now Fede claims that he's not gay. Ok then. I haven't been watching the full episodes for a while now until I see actual proof they are going forward with Fede being gay. The back-and-forth the show has been doing is super off-putting, so I wont be watching to not get invested... I'll keep a safe distance just in case lol The show's twitter account keep teasing he could be lying about not being gay with tweets yesterday and today saying stuff like: - "(...) tough times for Fede trying to prove to others and prove to himself that if he likes women" - "Fede had his first sexual experience but it was not what he imagined... is he gay or not?" - "In the present, Fede decides to confess to Luz that Dany is not the one he likes but her. So do you think Fede likes men or women?? How far does your confusion go? Do not miss a single episode" It feels like we're being fooled  |

Sometimes I feel like Fede is trying too hard, like what is he trying to prove? Who is he trying to convince he's not gay? He seems kinda desperate, idk. Like.. he's still in denial maybe? Also, Daniel is still involved in the story, which gives me hope. Daniel said Fede was "muy guapo", which means he's still into Fede. |

I suspect Fede will ultimately be gay and choose Daniel but the show is probably going to yank us around until right before the series ends. Fede will have lots of sex with girls trying to prove to himself/his family that he is not gay and in the final episode, he will admit the truth and share a chaste peck on the lips with Daniel. That would be par the course for Brazil given its track record of homosexuality on telenovelas. In fact, they will probably sell the fact that the boys' lips have met as a huge milestone of progress since in the past, a kiss would be censored or cut short. Perish the thought that Fede would ever be allowed to have sex with another boy onscreen - anywhere close to how they depicted him with a girl to whom he isn't even genuinely attracted!

So.. the entire relationship with Iker happened off screen. Of course Fede kissed Luz (a girl) onscreen though, like OF COURSE. Now he's telling Iker he has to end things because he has feelings for Luz. This storyline started out so well with Fede's coming out. I can't believe it turned into sh*t so fast. I had so much hope that they would FINALLY get a gay storyline right. I have no idea why I never learn, maybe I'm just so starved for gay storylines (and especially latin gay storylines) in general that I get my hopes up. I shouldn't though because I always end up disappointed.

What a waste. Not only is he sleeping with her, but prior to that he was fantasizing about her too! So I guess that he is at best bisexual, but any same-sex relationship will be downplayed or take place offscreen. I suppose we shouldn't be surprised; Latin American telenovelas have always been a dead loss when it comes to depicting gay characters in a positive manner (if at all).

I have a feeling this is going to be one of those stories where the man turns out to be gay but they will mostly be showing him with women. Thanks for clarifying. However, the earlier scenes always involve him fantasizing about having sex with her. (Needless to say, I doubt we got a similar fantasy of him with a male lover!) I fear you are right and even if he is gay or bi, there won't be any meaningful scenes of gay intimacy (kissing/sex/afterglow). |
