At least he has a loving home to go to with Carrie and her family. And he still has Bennett, who I can see being supportive and loving. Now I wonder if Walt's parents kick him out right away after seeing the photo. Or are they going to tell him to give Bennett up and start acting "normal" again. He says no to their demands, so they kick him out. I still think it's funny how Carrie's dad is okay with her staying in NY all summer with a "straight" friend, but when he learns Walt is gay - that freaks him out. He's a weird dad. and of course Walt still has Bennet, but Bennet lives in NY and he can't be Walt's personal bodyguard when he goes to school. I hope to see how the parents kick him out as well. I think Walt's mom tells his dad, because it didn't look like she considered kicking him out right away on her own. I'm just afraid we'll hear the whole story from Walt when he tell Carrie what's happened...

What I meant is at least Walt has a support system of people who love him and accept him. Being a teenager is hard enough without having to deal with your family, friends, and people you know turning on you simply because of your sexuality. Every person deserves to feel loved, accepted, and wanted.

Why U always geo-blocked! What I meant is at least Walt has a support system of people who love him and accept him. Being a teenager is hard enough without having to deal with your family, friends, and people you know turning on you simply because of your sexuality. Every person deserves to feel loved, accepted, and wanted. I totally agree! Still, I can imagine if Walt suddenly felt that NY was very far away all of a sudden. But yes, he does have people who cares for him.

Personally I'm not one for Valentine's Day, I would much rather just have fun and be casual. So that club looks like a lot of fun to me. I'm not surprised that Walt was unhappy at the club. He's a WASP and not prudish, but perhaps skittish of the unknown. It took him a long time to come to grips with being gay and being somewhat comfortable in his own skin. It's going to take him some time to get used to it all. And to accept it, he's been one way his whole life. I think he has a lot of fear of what else is out there. And what he could be in that world. Bennett and Walt has slept together and we didn't get to see it? I get where Walt is coming in how he acted. He's been through a lot, accepted himself, started dating Bennett, got kicked out and disowned by his family, and now he might have HIV. He only eighteen, when most guys his age are focusing on which schools to go to. He might have gotten infected with a disease that at the time meant a horrible painful death. He's barely out of the closet, tipping his toe into the gay lifestyle, found real love. And than this happens, his worst nightmares coming true. That's a lot to take on when your eighteen kid, whose life should just be beginning. Though I don't want them to break up, I understand Walt is scared. But life should be about enjoying what's out there. Not closing yourself off, so you don't get hurt of any kind. What Bennett and him have is real and should be cherished, not thrown away. It looks like Walt is going to go way back into that closet and pretend none of this happen. I wanted to give Bennett a big hug he looked so miserable and sad in the end. He loves Walt so much and is really hurting right now.

I wonder how far this show will take AIDS or Walt being gay again? It's very light and bubbly show, so maybe they won't flesh it out too much. I just hope they don't give it to Bennett after making him negative. Like him getting drunk in his despair and having unsafe sex.
Perhaps Walt goes very deep back in the closet. That he tries to cut off all ties with Carrie and company because they try to get him to accept himself and being gay. And they remind him of what he is and about Bennett.
I really want to get Walt a hug and give him a smack at the same time.

It's such a sad way to end your Valentine's Day. But I do get the fears that Walt is facing, he is only 18. I think even guys double his age are still facing the same problems. The thing with Walt is he doesn't want his sexuality to define him. That's something I think alot of gay guys have common with him. Yes, he is gay, but he still wants the conventional way of life (like settling down, having a good job, friends, family or maybe kids); which I believe alot of gay guys also wish to have this.
But it's sad that he doesn't want to work things out with Bennett and decides to take the easy way out (but a miserable one) by going back deep into the closet. I know it's scary to be 18 and facing the possibility of "dying" (under those circumstances), but he forgets that he has someone who is facing the same issues as him and does love him. So why not face the fear together, it's not like he is alone. I hope the writers will not be cruel and get them back together soon, I think they complement each other well.
Hopefully the show get a 3rd season (which I think it could be the last) and maybe they will bring them back together. Maybe Bennett will leave for some other place (like Europe) and ask Walt to leave with him (when Walt realizes that going back into the closet is not what he wants in life and is causing him misery). Then we get a happy ending.
I need a happy ending for a gay couple DAMN IT!!!

I think Walt's reaction was pretty realistic and understandable. He's always been portrayed as buttoned-up, and he's just starting to get comfortable with being gay. Suddenly he's thrown into the deep end of gay life, confronted by flamboyance, promiscuity and a fatal disease. I do think the show did its fans a disservice by having Walt lose his virginity offscreen, because he had no less a buildup to that moment as Carrie, yet for him the event is just mentioned in passing. The show's demographic skews younger so I don't think they needed to fear a conservative backlash if they showed two gay men in bed together.

I don't think that any sort of backlash factored into them not showing Walt losing his virginity onscreen to Bennett. The show is about Carrie and her experiences. Walt is a supporting and side character that's there to show how scary the world was during the time of when the word AIDS just instilled the belief that you would end up dying in a horrible way, due to (at that time), you being a gay man. Did they show Mouse losing her virginity to her boyfriend? I recall that she told her friends that they did "it".

I think we did see Mouse with boys. And Maggie with her men, and Dorrit leading in that direction. I think we saw Tom and his girlfriend. Larissa and Samantha going at it and taping it for Harland And even Sebastian with his older married woman. So why not show Bennett and Walt, who have fans who were really rooting for and enjoy their pairing. I mean why show Larissa and Samantha starting to fool around and be so chaste with Walt and Bennett?

I don't know what else there is to say, but the folks in charge aren't bothered to want to show the intimacy between those two supporting characters. No matter how many fans they do have.

That just bothers me, we have see many intimacy between other supporting characters. I think it showed Maggie and Walt fooling around after him freaking out about Bennett's kiss. I mean we see Sebastian in bed with an older married woman. But two guys who care about each other and are in a relationship. Nawww... It's frustrating.

Are they writing off Bennett? Coz the latest episode they turn Carrie against him and didn't put him in a very good light. And he was fired from the Interview magazine. No more connection with Carrie or Walt. I seriously hope they are not doing this.

I don't know, but I believe that actor who plays Bennet. Got a role in a pilot, maybe he's busy filming that?

A bit off topic, but the first season of this show was excellent but this second season is horrible. The acting is dreadful and generic plot lines from old sitcoms are continually recycled.
