I don't have any spoilers nor do I understand what's being said in Finnish, but I get the sense that Lari is only back for a short stint to wrap up his story.
I'm just glad to see he's doing alright for himself - the way they had him leave last year, I thought he was going to end up one of those crazy vagrants who spends all his time talking to dead Elias's ghost.

So Ronny Roslöf who play Lari have return to the show for the new season. He hasn't returned yet, has he? I saw his brief guest stint last season, but nothing much came of it. I always thought the show treated him poorly by firing him just because Petteri (Elias) wanted to leave. They gave his character a dreadful exit, with Lari leaving his son and friends, apparently to live a transient life mourning for, and haunted by, his lost love, Elias. What story will they give him now? His friend Janne is still on the show, as are Tale and Sanni with Lari's son, as well as his ex, Kalle - but Kalle seems to be now busy stalking another ex (Sami). Elias's dad and brother have left the show, but Iida (Elias's best friend/Lari's ex) is back - last year she had an affair with Sebastian! Will they give Lari a new love interest or put him back in Kalle's orbit? Kalle was always more into Lari than Lari was into him. It's going to be difficult to follow the story from outside Finland since no one has been interested enough in the lives of older gay men like Kalle and Sami to post clips on Youtube. Ronny's sporting a bit of scruff in that promotional pic, so my guess is they are going to let him play closer to his real age instead of in the "kiddie" pool. Anyway, there are only two young male characters now (Jiri's son and Elias's adopted cousin) and to date, neither has been portrayed as gay or bi.

I don't see Lari added to the credits yet, I am not sure what his status on the series is. Is it just a short guest stint to convince Kalle he really does love Sammy?
I did find this clip which seems to be Kalle's fantasy?

The show just debuted some new opening credits this past week and Lari's been added right at the end (next to his best friend Janne). Kalle appears at the very beginning (with his dad Ismo). Kalle's boyfriend Sami remains on recurring and doesn't appear in the credits.

Kalle's boyfriend the cop was murdered in yesterday's episode. It seems like the killer is a guy Kalle slept with previously?

I've been following Janne actor on instagram and get a gay vibe from him He has bleached his hair platinum blond, it's just started showing up on the episodes being aired now and I find it quite jarring.

what about Lari? is he still in the show? Yes Lari is now a regular cast member, he was added to the opening credits' latest version. But he doesn't have any storyline yet. Kalle is struggling with alcoholism again because Sami was murdered and when Lari went to comfort him, drunk Kalle tried to get into his pants. Lari joined the intervention staged by Kalle's family but it wasn't successful and Kalle was shown contemplating suicide on the most recent episode.

There's a free-to-view spin-off of Salatut elamat available on their website, which takes place in an alternate reality. While Kalle, their sole remaining gay character is still single on the main show, this spin-off introduces an unexpected gay pairing between established characters Jiri and Noel, who are heterosexual on the main show. It's a fairly brief storyline but occurs at the end of episode 4 and opening of episode 5. You may need to register a free account to watch but it's viewable from outside Finland (unlike the main show). www.mtv.fi/sarja/pihlajasatu-33005204

In a shocking move, the show killed off an entire young family in the season opener. Last season ended with a helicopter crash. Tale, Sanni and their toddler Ilja lost their lives. Folks will remember that Ilja was Lari's biological son. Not sure if they will have him pop up for a guest appearance for his son's funeral. I can't believe they brought Tale back just to kill him off so randomly.

Just thought some might be interested to know that the gay couple on the spin-off Rantabaari (it's free to view on MTV's website from outside Finland, you just need to register) had a pretty scorching love scene in episode 63. Unfortunately, they've now been caught on camera and the super-hot married guy is being blackmailed over it.
The main show still doesn't have a love interest for Kalle.

I've been following the spin-off Rantabaari since it features one of the queer characters from the main show, Milo Vinberg, and unlike the main show, is accessible to people outside Finland on the official website (albeit later than it is to Finns). Unfortunately, I now regret my decision. I cannot even begin to comprehend how a show that tackled homosexuality way back in the day when Kalle was a teenager, and subsequently plenty of unique LGBTQ+ issues like youth homelessness, rape within a gay relationship, etc. and even created a popular supercouple that never shied away from onscreen physical intimacy (including nudity) would keep repeating the BuryYourGays trope - and with this THIRD iteration of innocent gays meeting a violent end playing out during Pride month, no less! The murder of Milo was particularly egregious, considering the killer went scot free (having already escaped justice for murdering Milo's sister), Milo was posthumously made out to be the villain and died believing that his boyfriend was dead.

Repulsive. Thanks for warning us. Another show that used a few shock value scenes to lure viewers in then treats them like garbage.

This came across my Instagram feed today. It's from the spin-off Rantabaari's ongoing 4th season. Looks like a threesome, no idea what the sexualities of the guys are. Given this show's track record, I won't invest any more time in investigating it even though the blond guy is hot (I gather his name is Tatu Arminen).

Possibly a new gay couple in the spin-off Rantabaari?
