Small steps, I guess. It's nice that Lari's softening towards Elias.

It's not nice, they barely started their relationship and it ended up badly for them a couple of times. Elias have been keeping from Lari who outed him and ruined his life. Lari is softening because he's in love, unfortunately for him - love is blind.

Elias JUST found out about Iida and she is his step sister who is grieving the loss of her mother AND who has a deadly medical condition. I think you are over simplifying the situation and exaggerating Lari's circumstances.
Iida did NOT ruin Lari's life. She may have outed him to the school (which other than his evil team mates knowing, no one at school cares if he is gay) but she didn't ruin his life.
Lari may FEEL like his life is ruined because he's a teenager and they are dramatic and have no sense of proportion.
But Lari was beaten up by his own team mates (not by Iida) and they are the same team mates with whom he used to bully Elias before he started cheating on his girlfriend, Iida, with Elias.
Having sex with your girlfriend's best friend and step brother is not ok, no matter how closeted you are. It's wrong and any girl would be devastated, angry and hurt to find out that not only was her boyfriend and best friend lying to her but that ALL of her friends knew that her best friend and ex were a couple and they kept it from her for weeks.
I'm not excusing Iida outing Lari but I think under the circumstances it makes sense that she was so angry, bitter and vengeful. She felt abandoned and alone and made a full of by the only to people she trusted. And she is also a dramatic teenager with no sense of proportion.
But back to Lari. After Lari's teemmates beat the crap out of him, he told no one. He didn't tell his coach or his father or the doctors what happened. He walked around on a busted knee and self medicated and didn't follow the doctor's directions and played anyway. THAT is what ruined his life. Refusing to do what the doctors said and going to the camp tryout anyway is what ruined his chances of playing future hockey, not Iida outting him, not Elias, only his decision to ignore advice (again, teenager with no common sense)
At some point, when he's calmer and has adjusted to what has happened, Lari will realize his on part in what happened to him and that by isolating himself and refusing to tell the truth about what happened to him, he made his own situation worse.
So many adults around him want to help him, Katarinna, Kalle, even Cindy and probably Sebastian too if he knew what was happening. Lari has friends like Janne and a boy who loves him like Elais. He is not alone and he doesn't have to brood and keep everything inside.
Elias did the best he could with a horrible situation and when Lari calms down he will realize that he and Iida BOTH acted horribly and they need to move on. What is done is done.
They are only 16/17 and this is part of growing up. I'm just glad Lari came to his senses showing up drunken and adorable at Elias' door because he needs HELP and support.

I agree completely with the above posting. What Ida did (outing Lari) was wrong, but completely understandable, given how cruelly she was treated by Lari, who never once expressed any remorse for his loathesome behavior. And yes, it was Lari's bigot teammates who beat him up, and his stupidity in not following his doctor's orders that led to his hockey dreams ending. It was his mistakes all around, not Ida's and not Elias's.
I hope this is a new, better, more honest start for Lari (with Elias, who deserves to be loved) but I expect new problems immediately, probably from Lari's stupidity (he tends to do the wrong, hurtful thing in every situation) and from, I suspect, a homophobic father.

Can anyone tell me if they are dropping this storyline. I am a big fan of Elias and Lari, but I can't believe how incredible slow all of this is. It seems to be taking a month to develop what should happen in only a few days, if that. Just sayin........

Slow? They're not astonishingly fast and had a few breaks but they showed boys building feelings for each other, starting a relationship, hiding it, first crisis etc. It's not a US soap when they get together, go to bed and split up the same week.

OK Penquino, I hear you. A little snarky, but I hear you. I don't know that the Americans are THAT fast with the zipper and breakup. So here's what I'm asking (asking)....This narrow part of the overall storyline has been in progress since late January. It has remained slow and narrow in all this time with very little progress. Does anyone know if they will be picking up the pace a little before I turn in to a little old gay geezer?

Don't know for sure. I'm kind of hoping that this will result in Lari coming out to his father. There's a lot of dramatic potential there. But based on past history, the story probably will never be very fast-paced.

A little bit is better than nothing, I suppose. I keep wondering whether this story will ultimately be about Lari coming out to his father, but they're still moving very slowly.

Greetings to all fans from Elias and Lari www.mtv3.fi/ohjelmat.shtml/kotimaiset/salatut_elamat/tiedotteet/1756493/eliaksen-ja-larin-terveiset-faneilleFinnish daily drama Secret Lives' young cast members Elias and Lari have become very popular among viewers. Their love story is of interested outside Finland as well. The feedback from audience has been enormous, and actors Ronny Roslöf and Petteri Paavola have received loads of fan letters from all over the world, e.g. North and South America, China, Malaysia, India, Philippines, Cambodia and almost European countries. Since last spring, one of the Secret Lives’ fans has uploaded all the scenes with Lari and Elias to YouTube with English subtitles. These clips have become a major success, and both the actors and the story have been thanked. Ronny Roslöf and Petteri Paavola, as well as the whole Secret Lives team are very happy about the huge amount of feedback and want to thank all the fans. – I knew people would be interested in our story, but it comes as a surprise that it has become so widely popular, says Ronny Roslöf. – When we started to do these roles we decided that we will do this as well and genuinely as possible. Based on all this feedback it seems that we have succeeded in this, which is amazing, says Petteri Paavola. Executive Producer for Secret Lives Marko Äijö from FremantleMedia Finland says the casting for these roles is a success. Finding the right actor especially for the role of Elias was a challenge, as he is the son of Sebastian Vuorela, a familiar and pretty tough character in the series. – We were looking for Elias who is sensitive and tough at the same time. Ronny Roslöf, on the other hand, is a sporty and physical guy who is perfect for the contradictory role of Lari, producer Äijö describes. The casting succeeded better than expected. – The characters are not stereotypical in any way. The idea here is that it is great to find someone to like, producer Äijö explains. The script writers are inspired by these actors' successful work and have written more and more dynamic scenes. – Interaction between actors and script writers is great. All these successful elements make the story touching, Marko Äijö says. Do you want to send fan post?
