I said it before and I'll say it again, you can only be strung along if you let yourself be. Elias needs to move on. He's 16. Far more fish in the sea.
No one who actually cares about you would continue to physically assault you and verbally abuse you regardless of what they are going through.
No one should put up with that kind of violent behavior, ever.
Ida is impossible. Who would actually continue to date someone when they KNOW that someone has assaulted their supposed best friend repeatedly for being gay?
She doesn't deserve Elias as a friend. Elias should drop them both and hang out with Tale.

I'm with you HQ75. I've always been offended that Ida would do this to Elias. It really is abusive to Elias, who is supposed to be her best friend. Everyone seems to abuse Elias, and yet he puts up with it, although he seems to handle it well enough.
I realize that we have to consider the culture of the country, but Finland is far from a backward nation. Finland is current and progressive, so I wonder how it's viewed within Finland.
OK, I'm gay and not a real pal of women, but Ida is especially obnoxious and self involved. But to be fair to the genders, HQ75, Tale is is a self involved little coward who can't be relied on by anyone.

Tale doesn't suffer Lari's homophobia silently. He is constantly asking Elias why he is tolerating Lari.
These are teenagers. i don't expect the to be perfect. They are going to make mistakes. But I think it's the time of life when you are deciding what kind of person you are, and what you expect from others. At least Tale stands up for himself and means it.
Elias is smitten so he needs a friend to try to get him to see reality.
If Katariina knew that Lari was hitting and verbally abusing Elias, I bet she'd give him a piece of her mind.

I don't think that Tale is a self involved little coward but more a person who wont take crap from the likes of Lari and if you look at it, it was a problem of Lari own making. If you want to put the coward brand on anyone then Lari would be a perfect candidate because of the way he is treating Elias. The best thing Lari has done so far is to dump Ida and if as they say she is sick wait till she finds out that Lari want to play Doctors and Nurses with Elias. It's a pity that we wont be getting rid of Ida just yet.
