In Dierdre's interview.. she does reference Will's upcoming "wonderful" storyline,, now she wouldn't say that if that storyline was just the continuation of the Will-Gabi relationship....that makes sense to me

As one of the complainants, I would like to reiterate that my issue is not slow pacing or non-appearance of a WilSon romance. I have always said I don't mind them taking it slow and develop a friendship first. My issue is that they are not so much slowing down, as NEGATING the hints they previously gave of Will being uncertain of having sex with Gabi. But that's just me hopefully being paranoid and pessimistic rather than prophetic.
The news of shirtless Sonny is definitely something to look forward to, as is the spoiler that he'll be bonding with Will over website-building (?).

Deidre Hall's interview is just one of many interviews from various actors left entirely open to interpretation. Notice that she said she's been in touch with the people of Salem, through her grandson Will, which implies that Will has been communicating heavily with his grandmother off screen. However, what she's saying about a "wonderful" storyline leaves no impression that she's talking about her grandson being gay. In fact, I'm even more curious as to what this all means, with Will and Sonny creating some website. What is that website all about? Is it something sweet and light-hearted that turns out to be devastating in some way? And is that website the thing that launches whatever story Ms. Hall is actually referencing?

I read that Nicholas Alamain is coming back. Haven't heard much about his role. Does anyone think he will be the one to be with Sonny? What actor is going to be playing the role?

Cody Longo is set to play Nicholas Alamain. Apparently it is temporary and he will be there to be reunited with Carly Manning before leaving Salem. |

Well, it seems to me that something is up with Will and Sonny, but Freddie couldn't spill the 'juicy details', at least according to that article. I wonder what Will and Sonny are going to be going through together and what their website is about. I bet they'll be rooming together in college.

I can understand Freddie's rationale
when he talked about being a "fifth
wheel" and it was hot for a minute
with Will but now it's been a long time,
and nothing.
He was on 90210 a show that put Marco
and Teddy together within 2-3 episodes.
And since he thought he would be with
Chandler/Will sooner, even he is beginning
to wonder what's going on.
Before the show will do the romance, they
have to make Will gay. I think "snail's pace"
will become an understatement with this sl.

I wouldn't be surprised if Will and Sonny become roommates. Will was going to live with T, but now that they've had a falling out - over Sonny - it sort of makes sense for Sonny to take T's place. And Sonny did tell his parents that he was getting his own place. Hmm... Freddie seemed to connect his "clothes coming off" moment with a new set that's being built. Maybe that's Will and Sonny's apartment. Maybe Sonny walking around post-shower in a towel, as roommates do, proves to be distracting for Will.

From the soaps column on AE today "Oddly enough, several other actors on the show have indicated that the gay storyline for Will and Sonny is in fact continuing, but that the show is just playing it very slowly like Corday told SOD. And that’s something that our sources are whispering to us as well. To be continued..."
At least this ives me some hope. I'm guessing maybe they're waiting to go ahead with the story because of all the old characters coming back? They need to implement them in storylines, and one storyline on Days, as we all know by now, is taking FOREVER. The Claire kidnapping storyline took almost a year to finish! Anyway... I don't mind WIll and Sonny being friends and letting their friendship grow. It will make for an even more compelling storyline when they do finally get together, like a normal progression of friends turning into something more. This is also a good way to make the story progress without making it too much "in your face" for the bigots. You know they'll complain anyway, but at least this way it can be easier for them to take it all in and maybe even get used to the idea.
What I have a problem with though, and what I am concerned about is the hints. I don't mind waiting and taking it slow, but there must be SOME hints about Will's sexuality, some clues aboyt how he feels. I don't buy it if they're friends and nothing happens, then they have obviously pulled the plug on this storyline. All I want is some hints, I'm not asking for much, just give us SOMETHING to know how Will is truly feeling. There should be a gradual development, but it can't be like the way we've seen lately, there must be at least some progress, and at least let the viewers know that Will is indeed gay with subtle hints. Is that too much to ask for?
I think they might have slowed this storyline down so it will all happen during november sweeps instead of september. Too much is going on in september with all the old characters coming back. BUT if nothing has happened by november, then I'm done with this storyline and the soap. I'll be so royally pissed off that I'll seriously stop watching the soap I've been watching for the last 15 years. Lets just hope it won't come to that..

Daytime Royalty had the opportunity to attend a party and “sneak peak” on the set of Days of Our Lives. Freddie Smith (Sonny) was there to give us some scoop. Since Smith premiered as the teenaged son of Justin and Adrienne who also happens to be gay, speculation has run amok as to who his love interest will be. It turns out, Smith is wondering the same thing! “I am waiting for my love interest.” Smith tells us that he thought the story was going to move more quickly, but it seems to be taking a while now. “I feel like Sonny’s the fifth wheel right now. Everyone around him is dating and he’s just kind of like the best friend who’s along for the ride. I’m just waiting to see where that’s going myself.” Smith says that his story did slow down a bit when there was a change in writers. He isn’t too phased by that, though, and he offers us some optimism. “They also came into a huge change with new sets and bringing back people, so I can see why it could slow down a little bit, But they’re keeping it interesting, and I’m just hoping it’ll pick back up quickly and Sonny can get some lovin’.” Originally Smith didn’t even audition for the role of Sonny. “Initially it was a different character. I think his name was Ryan. He was a straight guy athlete.” Apparently, the characters of Ryan and Sonny were so similar, that Days decided to combine them. Smith had no idea during the auditions that his character would be gay, but he is happy about it. “People appreciate it, and for me to be able to make a difference in my work, it’s such a good feeling.” Unfortunately, Smith has not been sharing screen time with his onscreen parents Wally Kurth and Judi Evans. “We worked a lot, and now I haven’t really seen them. I miss them; they’re funny. But they’ve been working all the kids together.” Smith knows that originally it was rumored that his love interest would be Will Horton. He says now he is thinking it may be Will, Chad DiMera, or maybe even a new character. “As an actor since I don’t know where it’s going to go, I personally don’t want to flirt with Chad or Will, and them turn out to be straight. I’m waiting and playing Sonny as the cool friend. If they do tell me who it’s going to be then we can start adding stuff where people will start catching on.” Smith acknowledges that he and Chandler Massey (Will) have actually done this in a couple of episodes already when they though Will was going to be his love interest. “Now that we’re not sure, we’re just being buddies. Seem like tomorrow not allot of Will/Sonny more like Sonny/Chad scenes.They are getting close and bonding more getting to know each other.He even defends Sonny.Tad i swear needs to get a beat down from Chad or even Sonny.His annoying me.
