I'd say Flaco and Lalo come in second but still I wouldn't compare them to McDean. There story seems so different on so many levels. Don't get me wrong, it's a brilliant story that got my attention ... but when McDean was on I was really obsessed with them, watched clips multiple times and was totally moved by the emotions James and Guy brought to our screens. Maybe it was the fact that I was close to their age when the story happened and could relate to some of this. But yea, not one other gay storyline had such an impact on me as McDean. ;D Fer and David were good too, but they come not even close IMO when it comes to the heart and soul that were McDean. And Chrolli is just one sad story for me. Honestly, before the writers have nothing for them in months and when they do have a storyline it's s**t ... I rather wish they would get a sunset ending instead of this nonsense. I think my love for them died completely when Christian had the thing with Theresa. No overall, Chrolli has way too many errors along the way to even have thought of them. Although "VL" is the only soap I watch religiously for years.

First of all, Brendan is nothing like Craig. Not at all. Shocks me that people even try to put these two in a sentence together. ITA agree with you on JP's storyline with Kieron, candyflossuk. It was like he learned nothing from his relationship with Craig. It's was all about the forbidden love, about the scandal behind their feelings for each other - all over again. JP had the chance to grow after he left Craig at the airport ... but he didn't. Instead this entire story with Kieron made me ask myself over and over again "why the hell didn't you go with Craig then?". For me it made no sense. Also I had nothing against Kieron. It was just the story that was beyond stupid. It damaged JP's character a lot! Anyway, after the sunset ending in 2008, I've been waiting for a story that moves me again like John Paul and Craig have. Didn't happen. Their story just had it all like no one after. The emotions we saw were amazing. And the chemistry between James and Guy was outstanding and except for Dennis (Roman) and Igor (Deniz) from "AWZ" (where the story was partly awful) never appeared among the other gay storylines again.

Yes. The Kieron storyline was ridiculous and made no sense. John Paul spent months being Craig's 'dirty little secret' and vowed never to do that again. He left Craig because he 'deserved more' than to be hidden away in Dublin, with a boyfriend who wasn't yet comfortable with his sexuality. Yet only months after Craig leaves, he starts a secret affair with a Catholic priest? . After Guy left, James specifically said that he wanted to play a storyline that didn't just revolve around John Paul's sexuality. But the writers ignored that and unfortunately, the character of JP was sacrificed for soap sensationalism, in this case an affair with a priest. So I cant say that I blame James for wanting to get away before the writers could do any more damage to the once brilliant character that was John Paul. Yes, Mcdean day was phenomonal. I remember how excited I was that day. School seemed to drag on forever. ;D. Still the best gay story ever shown on TV in my opinion, particularly the beginning part of it. James and Emma (Hannah) were phenomenal and heartbreaking in JP's coming out scene. God I miss them . Ps; great avatar . The JP and Kieron story was a joke from the beginning. They just tried to use all this gossip what was there about McDean to tell yet another "scandalous" love story involving JP. To that time, the writers seemed to forgotten that JP just lost the boy he really loves. And then leaving Craig for being his secret just to become Kieron's was beyond stupid. I remember the McDean Day sitting there and just going "NO ... they don't got that far. NO Craig won't say that". LOL In the end it was just mind blowing. It was perfect when you forget about the part where Craig drops the F-bomb on JP. And oh yeah, I do miss them so much!!!! They really are THE best gay couple that we ever had. Their storyline showed so much emotions like none before or after. I don't want to hate on other couples, but when I look around ... watch some storylines and then remember McDean, I'm just bored. I just think like "after this story is out there you try to get my attention with this???". P.S.: Thanks. I love your avatar!!! Oh great times.^^

When you look at the little scenes we've got from Brendan and Ste, I don't think these two are really over. For me it's more that Ste wants to feel that way. I kind of hope that with the new love interest, they maybe make a viable love triangle out of this in the long run. I don't think that this evil woman is out of George or Phoebe's life for good yet. But I do agree, George believing so easy that Phoebe was okay seemed a little bit out of place ... But at least George is save for now at Callum's place.

If I remember correctly, there was a bizarre rumour going round that the proposed 'Hollyoaks Later' involved sex on a house boat (yes really!) and that James wasn't up for that or particularly impressed with the proposed script. I have no idea whether this was true or not but if it was, I can't particulary blame James for not being interested. Sure, it would have been a nice present to the fans but we already had our SE which was the main thing. Also, I always felt a sense that James had become bored of playing John Paul by this point and was eager to move on. His character was poorly written during the Kieron storyline and I felt that even James was struggling to understand JP's actions and motivations by this point. I may be wrong but that was just the impression I got. Don't get me wrong, I think James is a brilliant actor and was perfect as JP. But I also think he's the kind of actor where you can tell if he isn't particularly impressed with the character he's playing and the storylines he's been given (example: boring Ryan in Emmerdale). I get what you're saying and I think that you could be right about that. I also always felt that James himself wasn't much into the Kieron storyline. Because of the writing and because of what the character used to be before. I felt that 2008 wasn't particularly a good year for Hollyoaks. Many things have been done wrong IMO. And yeah, when it really had to be that way with Craig alone at HL, I wish they would have told a different story as how things between McDean are. This was a total joke! And so was the kidnapping of the McQueens. I didn't mind Spike either. He was a nice guy and a good first boyfriend for JP. But yeah, it ended the right way. I still get really emotional when I see the scenes from the McDean Day, where Craig confesses that he's jealous over JP. Phenomenal acting on both parts. James and Guy were awesome in those scenes. ;D

I like these two ... just at this point can't see anything than a really close friendship. Even though Callum shows a lot of concern for George, I don't know ... I don't want to get to invested with all these rumors (example: potential pairing between Callum/Ste) out there. At this point I do believe that Callum needs to get away from Maddie ... anything else ... well, let's wait.^^

Oh looking back ... I still wish that James and Guy had done the 2008-spin-off together. It would have worked so perfectly. JP and Craig on vacation and Niall making one last attempt to destroy them. I'd wish for the same ending - that Niall ends up dead - but it would have given the show so much more energy when the two of them were involved. So it felt complete out of place. JP who suddenly appears in that Church kidnapping ... and one months later, Craig taking a vacation with his sister after admitting that JP hasn't been that good. "Hollyoaks Later" would have given them the chance to show us McDean don't let destroy their love by anyone anymore. In the beginning they could have shown some sweet scenes between JP and Craig before Niall comes into the scene. And after that whole drama, Craig and JP could have both gone out strong, telling one another that now they know nothing can keep them apart anymore. Don't know if the schedule wouldn't have work out for James or anything else ... but it would have been the better ending. Rather than having them both one separately only weeks after the sunset ending (which really then was MY ending to these two characters). Great that they still get mentioned as of last year and that they are still together. McDean made "Hollyoaks" history. They owe that couple a lot and I hope they will always remember that. One can dream that one day (with family still in town) the reappear for a little guest stint ... showing how happy they are with each other. ;D

The writers just don't know what to do with them. VL has no history with writing for couple over such a long time. And with Chrolli they've failed several times over the last two years with it.
Now we are back to before this adoption/foster storyline came to light. Chrolli in the background, smiling and watching their friends having a complicated love life ... until the next tragedy hits them.

Only Lenny's father and his prostitute g/f and Lenny's mother. They don't seem to care much about their children, maybe that's the problem. Talk about the worst parents on TV. LOL No really, Iris and Alexander both only seem to care for themselves. Their children always seem to come second, if they have a place in their lives at all. But to defend them a little bit: Lucy was on that concert too with Philip missing once again. Talking about lack of screen time, I think there is no Cenny the entire week.

Thanks Wuschel and Ivan. I really liked the episode. Carsten's confession that he doesn't know what's going on was really good. Also Lenny's reaction with him saying he manipulated him, which makes no sense at all and he knows it by the way he's running off. The scene where he brings Emily flowers is kind of funny. Her telling him about the 80% - LOL. And I have to say I like Carsten better when he doesn't wear these jeans and shirts. He looked much better today in the last scene with more casual clothes. But that's just me...

I hope they do have a story bible or something. At least the writers should know in which way they're hawed.
And yeah, they writing Carsten as a gay men, but I don't think the will forget about the story with Lenny. They just develop Carsten's character more. When the news is right Felix Isenbügel got just promoted to a series regular, so they just might take the time to show us a little bit more of his character. There is no other reason than that to give him scenes with Dominik. He already has a trust worthy person with Lucy. The possible friendship to Dominik shows that they wanna build more friends around him (integrate him more in the main cast) - and maybe even get rid of this gang for good. (BTW, one guy from the gang is already missing...^^)
So, I still hope the best and don't think they start with it and leave it at such an early state. Gzsz always needs some time with it's stories. I remember when people were going crazy when the Paula/Franzi story took over a year, the abuse story with Jasmin which ran for one and a half year or the Philip/Lucy storyline last fall which took nearly eight months.

It's about time that they put him under contract. He's been on recurring for almost a year now. And now he is part of a popular storyline, so congrats Grundy and RTL to this wise discussion.

I liked today's episode a lot. A really hot scene in the beginning and other than that a lot of angst. Works for me at the moment. But my concern today was with Jörn Schlönvoigt (Philip). What happened??? OMG, he has such short appearances lately that I was shocked, when I saw him half naked today. He really added a few pounds there over his last trip with Sarah Tkotsch (Lucy). I mean before he was gone, he just to look like this (even though this pic is from last fall): Seriously, he used to be a hunk. I mean not that he is bad looking now or anything, but still ... I want skinny Schlöni back. ;D Sorry, but this just bothered me today. Other than that, I really was surprised when Lenny got his hands in Carsten's boxer short. Don't wanna know what would of happen there if Carsten didn't have tried to kiss him in this moment. I'm really excited for tomorrow though. Hope the interesting scenes aren't part of another cliffhanger. ;D

Unfortunately I'm not able to cut and upload clips or do subs, but if there are any translations missing and alex, you don't have the time to do all of them, just go right ahead and tell me. I guess my English is decent enough to make understandable translations although there will probably be some mistakes. But I'd be glad to be of assistance. That would be so nice. I have some private things to deal with at the moment and don't know if I can translate the clips ASAP as soon as there are some. So feel free to do it. Would make a lot of people happy, including me. I'm really excited for the Q&A session with Felix. Can't wait! Thanks for doing this, GayTime.

I'll upload the videos on megavideo now (there is no download necessary). A small clip with the link is uploaded on YT. I will continue with the translations as I have so far. So I will be a busy bee and translate the clip of today's episode for the non-germans in the next few hours. Part 11 is up to watch: www.megavideo.com/?v=OCEAEUYN

Spoilers for the week of October 5 to October 9, 2009.
October 5 After Carsten's coming out to him, Lenny flees from the situation. Lucy tries to help Carsten, but it doesn't change the fact that he is ashamed of being gay. Full of disgust for himself, Carsten wrangled with his destiny.
October 8 Philip searches for a job, when Carsten helps him out with a chance for a "voluntary social year". Philip is shocked when he finds out that he has to work in a hospital - after his dad, step-mother and Franzi died over the last two years. Not an easy association for him. But Philip seems to have no other alternatives.

alex20 i can help you when you want ! I have yesterday's gzsz episode recorded it . I know youtube have problems from time to time. Thank you! I tried a couple of things ... without any luck. I'll keep trying, but I'm getting out of ideas here. Maybe people should stop with uploading episodes before they even aired to not get unnecessary attention from RTL. And I agree with IvanIV. They actually selling the full episodes, so it's quite tough with free videos on YT. But I thought that they would at least let this story go free since it gets international attention and it covers only parts from the episodes (+ uploading the parts after it's original airing).

Seriously? With today's episode RTL is taking a copyright claim. I tried to upload the scenes of Lenny and Carsten from today's episode twice ... both times the videos got immediately blocked. I'll hopefully figure out a way to make it work. It's just that I really don't understand what's different from 24 hours ago, where I uploaded the last part. And other clips from the episode - posted earlier - are working too. Same goes for the clips from RTLs "AWZ". If someone has an idea what to do ... please write it down.^^

I just got into the story and watched about 50 videos in the last two days. Still not finished with what already happened, but I love these two together and I hope that we get a happy ending there. It's great that Bernat is coming back and I hope he stays long enough to give us a great story. I already read that he left in a awkward way and that the writers pretty much messing with their love story since. That's such a shame... But it's good to know that he is filming again, which gives me hope and the iron will to continue watching the parts I have left.

spoilers for the week of September 28 - October 2.
October 1 Lenny's world seems alright again, after Carsten is gone. But their unsuspecting friends get Lenny and Carsten to see each other again. Lenny shows a harsh attitude, which leads Carsten to the decision to leave the group forever. As if losing his friends wouldn't be hard enough for one day, his father finds out about Carsten being gay and throws his son out of the house. It seems like Carsten lost everything. Can Lenny really pretend that he doesn't care at all?
October 2 Lenny isn't sure what to do, when he finds out that Carsten is sleeping in his car. He doesn't want to be confronted with his feelings for him again, but he also feels sorry for Carsten. In the end, Lenny's sympathy for his old friends wins and leads to confusing feelings.

Part 8 Turner: Go ahead Pit Bull. Tell your father what you think about your father fucking a hooker! Alexander: You should apologize or else... Turner: Or what? Does daddy wanna spank my ass, like he likes it when she does it? Alexander: So that are your friends!? Lenny: Well ... he's right. I mean she is a whore ... that's why you wanted to ditch her. Alexander: What did you just say? Anna: Alexander come on ... don't get provoked by this kindergarten. Turner: You heard right. Anna: And you should wash your pimples out of your face, before you speak to grown ups. Alexander: We'll talk later! Lenny: Yeah ... sure... Junior: "We'll talk later!" ... I tremble with fear. Driver: Your father is the man ... you should look out. Carsten: Stop it! OK!?
Next scene. Alexander and Anna. Alexander: To talk trash about others only to make yourself feel better... Anna: If I would get angry over every stupid word something is saying, I would be really busy. Alexander: OK you're right. You most likely can't expect more from schnooks like them, but that Lenny is hanging out with them ... and even talking like this ... I'm really sorry for that. I don't know what's going on with him anymore. Anna: I do. You're just not the only one that has a problem with job. Alexander: But that's no reason to ... I mean ... just because you're doing what you're doing you're not worth less. And you don't even look like doing something like this. Anna: What was that? An insult or a compliment? Seems like that's it. But it was very nice of you to defend me like a hero.
Next scene. Lenny is at the club with his friends ... looking not so good. Turner: I even thought your father was casually in the beginning. Carsten: Parents are never casually. Junior: When I think about my dad. He always flips out when he got drunk. Even locked me up, so he can continue with his drinking. Lenny isn't following the conversation anymore and seems down. Cut to Alexander. Alexander: ... and now too afraid to come home. Music starts featuring Alexander and Anna.
Next scene. It's dark and Lenny is getting into Emily's room. Emily: What are you doing here? Lenny: John did let me in. Can I sleep here tonight? I don't wanna see my father. Emily: You dare to come here, after you talked to me like this today and as an excuse you want to cuddle? Lenny: I'm sorry for what happened this morning. I was in a really bad mood. Sorry! Emily: Yeah, it's alright! But let's go to sleep right away. I have a long and hard day tomorrow. Lenny: No problem .... Shit! Emily: What? Lenny: Well ... problems with the boys and now my father too. Emily: Sounds stupid. Lenny: He went completely psycho, because Krüger talked trash about that Anna. Extremely awkward! And that in front of the boys. But on the other side ... Krüger's performance wasn't great either. And I even came up with another saying. What would you do if you were me? Should I apologize to him or just listen to his speech?
Next scene. Alexander is waiting for Lenny. Alexander: Where were you? Lenny: At Emily's. Alexander: I waited the whole night for you to come home. What was that yesterday? Lenny: What Turner said was really messed up ... he overreacted... Alexander: Don't you hide behind your no-brain-friend (excellent description ;D). That he is doing shit like this doesn't surprise me, but that you're in this... Lenny: But he is right. She is a prostitute. Alexander: That doesn't give you the right to speak about her like this. Who do you think you are? Lenny: Cool down. I just wanted to apologize. Alexander: You didn't do anything out of your life yet, besides beating a few sandbags. Tell me, did you beat out what's left of your brain by that or why do you hang out with idiots like them? Lenny: Are you finished? Alexander: You guys only feel good when you can bawl somebody. That's so pathetic. Lenny: When your own father is sleeping with a hooker - that's pathetic! Alexander raises his hand. Lenny: What? Do you wanna hit me again? Do it! But this time I'll fight back! I promise.

Part 7 The gang is still talking trash about Alexander's relationship with a prostitute (which isn't really necessary to translate^^). Then Lenny tries to defend his father. Lenny: That's shit. My father didn't know how she makes her money when they first met. Driver: But you or what? Lenny: Are you crazy? Turner: I tell you what. It's not a problem to sleep with a hooker. But if my old man would come with someone like that, then I wouldn't hold back. Lenny: Listen ... what do you want anyway? I have no interest in what my father is doing. Scholzi: Or with who he is doing it ... so come on. Turner: When mummy has a nice afternoon with her friends, I would say I'm in. I would even pay for it. A point of honour. The gang is talking some trash again and make some word playing.
Next scene. Still at Lenny's place. Junior: Guys, what do you think? When she is moving in ... does she get her own workroom? Scholzi: And everyone of us gets price deduction. Turner: Yeah! Lenny: Stop with this shit already! My father broke up with her when he found out that she's a hooker. Turner: Right ... didn't look like it last night. Lenny: Maybe because I didn't know it there. Carsten: Don't overreact, boys. It's not our business what Pit Bull's father is doing. Turner: We can at least ask what she takes for an hour or what? Junior: Don't be so lazy. We just look it up! Lenny: It's enough! Turner: Why? Do you want her for yourself? The mommy is there for everyone. Lenny: Get your hands off there. Turner: And if I don't? Carsten: Hey! You guys relax! When Lenny tells us that the woman is ditched than that's it! Besides that ... I'm hungry! So let's go!? Turner: For all I care. And the gang is going. Lenny: What an asshole!
Next scene. Seems like Lenny changed to the clothes again, he was wearing in yesterday's episode before he got changed...^^ Emily: Amos (the music manager) just called me. The singing lessons start tomorrow. Lenny: Good for you! Emily: Yeah, I just have a little problem. I have still a week of shifts in the "Spätkauf" and I don't have time. I already spoke with Tayfun and he said that it isn't a problem if you take some. Lenny: Are you insane? You can't just leave your job to me. Emily: Well ... I thought you have the time and it's ok. Lenny: No ... nothing is ok. Emily: That isn't a reason to speak with me like this. Lenny: Sorry ... I have problems with the boys. Emily: And what do I have to do with it? Come on, after the next fight you guys are best friends again. What's with the shifts? Lenny: I haven't time to think about now. And Lenny walks out.
Lenny comes back home, still pissed. Lenny: Fuck! He says after he hits his hand on the table. He then picks up his phone and calls Carsten. Lenny: Hey, what's up? Carsten: We did hang out for a while and you? Everything alright again? Lenny: Well ... that with today was really messed up. Carsten: I understand you, but let Krüger (that's Turner) alive. Lenny: I just think that it sucks that he talks shit to me, when my father is the one who messes up. As if it's my fault... Carsten: Nobody is saying this. It just got a bit heated between you guys. A moment of silence. Carsten: Do you have any plans for today? Lenny is smiling.
Next scene. Carsten and Lenny enter the club, where the boys already waiting. Carsten: Take it easy. The boys just didn't get what your father wants with someone like her, but that's history. Turner: Hey boys ... do you wanna fight or go to a whorehouse? Lenny: Dude! Carsten: Let's change the subject. Lenny is ordering beer, before Turner starts again. Turner: Did you come down because of your father's whore? Forget it! I once had a chick myself that was doing everyone. Only nobody would of payed for her. Junior: Dude, why didn't you introduce us to her? Turner: Well ... I still should have her number somewhere. Scholzi: And under which name did you safe her? "Hooker" or "whore"? Turner: Under "for an emergency" of course. Carsten and Lenny try to smile over the bad joke, when Lenny gets shocked - Alexander and Anna walk in.
Next scene. Still in the club. Lenny and his friends talks about another past fight. Cut to Alexander and Anna. Alexander: Anna, that with us really was a beautiful thing, but... that at the same time you sleep with other men... Anna: You have not to worry. I'm not working at the moment. Alexander: Don't lie to me. I saw you yesterday ... getting in the car of another guy. Anna: That!? ... That was Paul, my boss. He complained because I extend my visit in Berlin that often (Anna originally lives in Frankfurt). And because of that he needs to put off the regular customers. Cut to Lenny and friends. Driver: Doesn't look like your father ditched her. Turner: Maybe he already payed her. Lenny: Maybe she is begging him... or something. Turner: Yeah, she needs to take track of her johns. Cut to Anna and Alexander. Alexander: Why are you telling me this? You told me that you won't give up your job. Anna: Because you are too important to me to just let you go. I know it's hard to understand, but it really is just a job. When I'm with one of my customers ... that totally different from when I sleep with you. Alexander: To be honest ... I don't even wanna thing about the difference. Cut to Lenny and friends. Talking about A/A and that it doesn't look like he would ditch her and even more it would look like he is the one who's begging. Lenny: Shut the fuck up, dude!
Next scene. Still in the club. Alexander and Anna still talking. Alexander: I'm sorry, but I would lie if I tell you that everything is alright as long as you don't fall in love with one of them. Anna: I understand... Cut to Lenny and friends who are still talking some trash, when Alexander and Anna walk by. Turner: Do we get some discounts as friends of the family? Alexander: What did you just say? Turner: If you ask me, I would throw up when my father would come home with someone like her. Go ahead Lennard! Tell your father what you think about your father fucking a hooker.
