(thanks Zam, at least i figured out it was just me having problems. yay! finally got to watch it again and again...) shirley, please tell "someone" how utterly grateful we are to have this, it's gonna be like christmas every friday for me!! i'd be curious to know if any part of these vlogs are going to be improvised or are they following a set script? (i seem to remember one or both of them saying in an interview that while filming the episodes they have to stick to the dialog as written.) as Ivan pointed out we are getting as much if not more than we get in an average episode of Oli and Christian, and having the additional insight into the character's thoughts and feelings is fantastic. my personal .02 on the translations, is that i'm just so very flattered that they thought to add english subs at all as it's obvious that they are thinking of their international fans. if they aren't spot on, that's fine by me as the general gist is clear and the acting shines. plus, it should just make us appreciate our wonderful translators here on the board who go the extra km to ensure we get the most subtle nuances right

I was able to view the video once but after that I kept getting the error message "server not found rtmp://vod.daserste.de/ardfs/". Did anyone else run into this problem?

not sure how long usually Torchwood Declassified is, maybe one of the U.K. viewers can let us know, i would love to see them. they usually include them in the DVD set? Thanks for mentioning "Inside Look", I'd forgotten about that. The Torchwood Declassified episodes that I've watched have each been 10 mins and yes, so far have been included in the DVD sets. I'm guessing "Inside Look" will take it's place/cover the same things? If you want to watch the ones done for season one and two you shouldn't have any problem finding them on You Tube.

cj4 why thank you (my screen name is a make-believe character from childhood so it makes me happy too ) Well if you have to wait on buying Maurice, I'd recommend you (or anyone else who is interested) check out www.youtube.com/user/motherofpearl13 channel to watch some of the dvd extras. Thanks for the recommendations for "Different for Girls"and "Soldier's Girl", they're worth remembering. I love Rupert Graves in anything he does, I just wish he acted more often. I think Lee Pace did an excellent job and it's hard to believe that it's already been 10 years since Barry Winchell was murdered. Do you have any gay Canadian movies you'd recommend? (I know "Breakfast with Scot" was mentioned awhile back)

So quick question: Are the DVDs of Maurice and Shelter worth getting? Is there a lot of special features or anything? I have to buy a bunch of movies from amazon for my film class (because most of the stuff we are watching is so obscure it is not avaliable to rent at my local stores) and Maurice is $29.99 and Shelter is $24.99 and I am wondering if they are worth the money. cj4, with Maurice I think it depends on what version you buy. I don't know what the one disk version has. I personally own the 2 disk special addition which has all the extras on the second dvd. This has: - 13 min interview w/the filmakers Mr. Ivory, Mr. Merchant and the composer of the score (talking about the themes/time period/setting/class of the movie), - 30 min making of the movie called "The Story of Maurice" w/ interviews w/the leads and the screenwriter talking about the how the screenplay was written, how they got the part and memories from the set, - 15 mins of deleted footage (12 scenes that were NOT in the theatrical release) which you can turn the commentary off/on to find out why they were cut. The keeper of the bunch is 2 min post-coital coversation between Alec and Maurice after Alec has climbed through the window. - theatrical trailer Important Note: You can watch "The Story of Maurice" and the deleted scenes on You Tube user motherofpearl13 page to see mostly what you are missing. Shelter special features: - 1 min automatic slideshow of images from the movie set to music with about 18 pics (no behind the scenes images) - theatrical trailer - production commentary aka dvd commentary with the director, brad rowe and trevor wright - 24 mins backlot (here! tv "the making of shelter") shows clips of the movie, the director/producer/actors talking about the world of the movie and the characters etc - 3 min "Lie to Me" music video (scenes from the movie alternating with shots of the singer) To me personally both dvds are worth purchasing for the extras especially as the Shelter commentary is NOT one of those where the director spends the entire time talking about the technical way he filmed a practicular shot but is rather focused more on the characters, the story and behind the scenes antics. The 3 guys seem to get along really well. Then again, if you prefer techinical commentary... If you do decide to purchase the dvds, a suggestion is to check out websites like bigwords.com or dealoz.com that act as search engines to make sure you've found the cheapest price. Whew... hopefully this answers your question ;D

Just keep in mind the original series ran for over 700 episodes, so make sure you've got a comfy chair. LOL... hence the "someday". However, it is a goal! Thank you for the videos illimen! Btw, does anyone know if they will be making any episodes of "Torchwood Declassified" for this season?

davedoty, in answer to your question I personally was a Doctor Who fan before Torchwood. Although in general I'm a sci-fi fan, I'd never heard of Doctor Who until I lived in England and had several friends who were huge fans. I first started watching the NEW series and then Torchwood when it came out. Each show is fantastic in it's own way* and I still plan on watching the classic series someday ;D *although Torchwood holds a special place in my heart as a fandom that doesn't require slash to see the leading man with another man

This picture of Christian and Oliver is indeed the best picture from all these nice screen captures ! Thanks, Ivan ! That is definately an " aww moment" screencap of them!! Danke Ivan!! It feels like you are collectively giving us a hug too for hanging in there and sticking around dutchy, Bedankt for all the recaps you do!! many a time after watching Ivan's video i've read your recap to see how well i guessed at what was going on while waiting for Nanna's vid. maybe someday my German will go from non-existant to understanding, but until then it helps loads (and it is often quite funny too) ;D

I wrote this on YT, so I'll write it here as well. The Monday video will be the last I am making. I've been spoiled so many times and it happened again. And I just can't be bothered anymore. So I will make the Monday's to (hopefully) wrap up the current story and that's it. I've been doing this for more than a year now and I wished it would end differently, but here you go. I hope you'll get the videos and caps from another source. Oh and this is an announcement, I am not doing this to make you beg me not to stop. Ivan, I feel aweful that some people's carelessness/insensitivy have brought you to this point. If you are absolutely sure and resolute in your decision, I won't beg you to change your mind (much as I'd really really like to). Instead, I'll just say THANK YOU for all your videos and caps over the last year. You and others like you, give the rest of us so much joy by sharing what you love. I hope that you'll still be hanging around the boards but with the possibility for spoiler posts here too I'm guessing not? If so.... you will be missed

Nanna, after watching both versions multiple times, I definitely like tihkon and your song pick better. Thank you so much! You're made of awesome! I think that there will be a special place in heaven carved out for you (and tihkon, and dutchy, and Ivan) for all that you do for us. Thank you!!!! ETA: You know, if there even is a heaven, and all, but you realize the sentiment is still the same regardless of the existence or nonexistence of an actual heaven. Three things:1. What Rhiannonhero just said can't be said enough imo. 2. Maybe we new a new topic thread just devoted to thanking Ivan Nanna, and Tihkon. 3. Rhiannonhero not only writes great fanfic, she can put together a kick-ass video too. It's fun and will leave you feeling happy; here is the link to her LJ page with the vid called ' Dancing'rhihero-fic.livejournal.com/2009/05/26/Enjoy ;D Well there is a thank you thread (under general discussion) here gaydaytime.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=237&page=2 but I totally agree with rhiannonhero (who's work is definately kick-ass btw ) and kat. Re: Ivan Nanna, Tihkon, Dutchy, et. all: We can NEVER thank our "angels" enough. If you ever think of anything you want from the rest of us.. cupcakes, hugs, baskets of puppies... I hope you know that it would cause utter mayhem (and many injuries) as hoards of people would be instantly scrambling over each other to be the first to bring it to you guys Danke !!!!

Flippa, I think more than a few of us will want to start businesses in Germany now. I do teach English! See.... my plans for a "Jo and Thore teach German the VL way" DVD don't sound so silly now huh???!!!! Hey!!! that never sounded silly to me ;D I still think that's the best idea for getting all of us English speakers to learn German I've ever heard
