Hi there... felt like saying we're coming out of the woodwork... but figured "coming out of the snowbank" might be more appropriate (in my case that is)... anyway... hope you've composed yourself by now. Nice hearing ;D from you again. Teaching? Still Merlin crazy? Sleuthing? Hope life is treating you well, jf I am now composed ;D Merlin crazy as always, gotta have something to squeak over. Teaching one day a week and working for a children's charity the res of the time. Not quite what I want to do but it keeps me busy and the people are great. Very little on the sleuthing front at the moment, it's rather disappointing. Perhaps I will have to go and hide someone's wheelie bin and cause uproar in the village. Hope you are not too snowed in and cold!!!

Oh, and with Merlin of course. ;D Still a fan. MERLIN!!!!!!! Um, I mean, I too am enjoying this. Obviously. So now - instead of studying law - I'm studying to become a history teacher in secondary school. Really liking it so far, so hopefully it will stay this way. This is what I do!!!! YAY! I appear to be abusing punctuation today. This is very bad of me. I must go and think about what I have done wrong in this excessive use...

You should find such a French Fancy and then EAT IT ALL!!!! *ahem* please excuse my enthusiasm. I may have slightly over indulged on cake. And wine.
In other news: My bank statement arrived. This is not something that generally provides me with much enjoyment or entertainment (in fact, is usually greeted with unrepeatable words) but this one actually Amused me!!!
Let me explain. I am a member of the Historical Association but, due to my bank's strange obsession with abbreviating everything, my statement now informs me that I spend £3.49 a month on "His Ass".
I was very much amused ;D

Hi everyone. Long time no...post? Thanks for all your lovely messages of support. It's been a busy and difficult couple of months, mainly trying to support my grandad. Taking one day at a time. Some good things have happened recently though. I've been offered a contract to be a scary Examiner Also a friend and I stalked bumped into some Merlin crew tidying up after filming in the Forest where I live and they chatted with us for ages and told us lots of things! And here, just because I can, I give you two photos the road on which I live. Not all snowed in though (yay!) Also: Mmmmm...giant French Fancy! *Ahem.* That is all. ;D ETA: I've also passed my First Aid course. Will be attempting CPR on the CT soon...

Hi people! I had some fun/interesting/exciting things to tell everyone (including Merlin related stuff) and then my nan died suddenly yesterday morning and blew everything else out of the water. Bit shellshocked and feeling pretty useless at the moment

I am pleased to report that the snow is melting pretty rapidly. We only had a few centimetres overall in the end, although Thursday was rather horrid. The snowflakes were about the size of my fist...I'd never seen them that big!! Was out driving when that snowstorm started. Took me an hour to do a five minute journey, the roads just disappeared!!
Cats have plenty of food including half of my chicken sandwich. BAD KITTIES!
Amber Whenever I put one of the discs on I squeak so loudly it would be embarrassing except for the fact that I am shameless when it comes to Merlin. ;D

Amber I have my boxset too. Hours of entertainment just looking at the cover. The shiny glowy ball in the sky has disappeared and instead we are seeing cold white flaky stuff. Have stockpiled teabags in case.

Well that 'blast from the past' was somewhat anti-climactic!! Well, update: In my final year of Uni and only 3mths to go. Working in a school and well on the way to becoming a school teacher and OH and I got engaged last month. Getting married (well, civil-partnershipped) in 2013 (when we have saved up the £30,000,000 it is gonna cost). Think that is all and love to you all... mwah mwah mwah xx xx xx Hey hun! I was so overcome with shock at your unexpected appearance I must have fainted or something. Also: am poorly. I know I squeaked delightedly on Facebook but congratulations again ;D (Also: talk to me about teachery things dammit! I want to knooooow!) In other news, neand I have yet to be at a Merlin filming location whilst they are actually filming which is a bit sucky. Last time I went to Puzzlewood they actually came and filmed the next day. My timing is awful. In other, other news, I saw a giant yellowy shiny glowy ball of light in the sky. Suspect it might be a legendary thing called "the sun".

I am not a crazy Merlin location stalker honest! We all knew you weren't ;D ;D ;D. Thanks for the links btw. Have you stalked been to either place? There is a magical feel to Puzzlewood (I checked the YT clip). No wonder they filmed there. What's the weather like these days? Any snow left? I have been to both ;D I will confess I went to the Maze when I realised it was a Merlin filming location but Puzzlewood I had been to several times before. Mum used to take me and my brothers there in the summer holidays when we were younger and just let us run around. I live near quite a few of the Merlin filming locations. And I've been to them all. Squeaking crazily. As for weather, there was a flurry of snow on Friday but it didn't hang around for long. Cold at the moment but with a hint of sunshine! AmberYes, Merlin could out-magic Harry with his awesome magic hand. But I love them both. Also, I would listen to Stephen Fry read the phone directory he's just that great.

To the CT's Merlin Triplets... I watched two more eps: The Labyrinth of Gedref and To Kill the King. Harry Potter anyone? Not as good as The Moment of Truth IMO. louisa Was that Hampton's Court maze? or one in Wales? The Maze is just on the English side of the England/Wales border... the Amazing Hedge Maze! and 12.7 miles from my house. Woot! Incidentally, many of the Foresty scenes are filmed at Puzzlewood which is even closer to my house! (Also a popular filming location for Doctor Who) I am not a crazy Merlin location stalker honest!I liked The Labyrinth of Gedref (or The Labyrinth of Gandalf as I kept calling it) but Moment of Truth remains my favourite. Oh, and as for HP similarities...wait until you see the first episode of season 2! Also, thunderkat hadn't seen that sketch but I have seen the same characters in the Christmas Special where my lovely Colin Morgan (aka Merlin!) played the son.

louisa - that is officially an emergency!! Low on catfood and teabags?? I'm sure that the Royal Army Veterinary Corps has to have national reserve of both! Seriously though, will your kitty be ok? Kitties currently having a great time! In an effort to conserve Cat Food Rations, Mum & I have been feeding them with random tins of tuna & salmon that have lurked in our cupboards for many a month and were Not Eaten. Kitties also seem to love frolicking the snow and have been making Snow Kitty Angels etc etc (suspect kitties may be small children in disguise!) Teabag situation could soon reach emergency level. Have only a box left. 200 teabags do not last long in this house. Please do send nice uniformed men with supplies urgently! On a more serious note though, when we were able to get out in the brief thaw earlier this week and went to Tescos it looked like Supermarket Sweep was being filmed there. Aisles of empty shelves! There was a shortage of almost everything. Even ice cream!

neand Yay! Moment of Truth is one of my favourite episodes,I'm so glad you liked it ;D
Sheepie I'm glad someone finds the me vs. snow battle amusing. Currently snowed into my house again. I too, have not seen my car for weeks. Last drove it BEFORE CHRISTMAS! Not had any post or bin collections since before New Year...it's getting ridiculous really!
Also, running out of cat food. If anyone that can airlift some in along with supply of teabags I would be very grateful.

Weather Update: I got snowed in my house for four days. Finally escaped! Then got snowed out for three days. Cannot decide which is worse. Finally home! Hoping the roads remain clear. Have barely been able to leave the village since Christmas and feeling rather trapped and stir crazy!
Amber Yes, I cried (but that's not surprising really!) CM blows me away with his awesomeness. Also his lovely cheekbones. I want them.

Did somebody say Merlin? ;D
Helllllooooooooooo everyone! I cannot believe how long I have been gone, it's very bad of me. I hope everyone has had a good Christmas/New Year/Holiday.
I eventually had a good time although I had a nightmare December really! Shortly after I pranged someone's car a person reversed right into me. Luckily am ok although had idiotic moment in the car watching this car coming at me going "He's not going to stop...what would be the worst thing I could do right now? I know! I'll close my eyes!" *crash*
Then my external hard drive, to which I had meticulously backed up everything, blew up. Took it into the computer repair place to try and recover stuff. Three days later, my computer goes too. Luckily the problem with my main computer hard drive was minor and they managed to recover almost everything. My backup drive has been pronounced deceased and I have mourned accordingly.
Then got snowed in for a bit. Worried that large parts of my extended family might be snowed in for a while but luckily it melted in time for us to say goodbye to them before any major argument or injury.
There was plenty of wine!
Just adding my (belated) welcomes to lizkarita, Kyliah , Lostaway, and julerocks and apologies if I've missed anyone. And hi to MtnDewCodeRedFreak who I don't think I've seen before.
Hi to everyone I haven't seen in ages!
Belated thanks to neand for my beautiful Merlin birthday greeting ;D (sidenote: I know where that was shot and its about 12 minutes away from my house) and to sheepie and amber for the good wishes. I did have a really good day despite the poor start! With lots of chocolate cake. YAY!
I shall do my utmost to post here more often now that my computer is back. Also, if anyway tells you that I almost proposed marriage to the guy who fixed my computer they are a lying liar and should be ignored.
Finally, to Amber and Mistress Vixen Merlin!!!!! Woot!

Thanks Sheepie I started my day by accidentally nudging someone's car when reversing into a parking space. The other person was v mean and nasty even though there was only a tiny fleck of paint taken off his car. Luckily got it all settled with his partner who was far less irate. Let's hope the rest of the evening goes better!

neand There were other people there before the Merlin cast who were sang and played Christmas music. With the cast we watched never-before-seen clips from the rest of the series and then they all answered a couple of questions before the lights were turned on. Then it was a mad, mad crush of people trying to get autographs. My friend and I were pretty near the front already and with all the manic pushing we suddenly ended up at the front! It was very exciting.
If you're still on Series One of Merlin give it a little bit of time. I enjoyed the first few episodes but it really kicked in about episode four. The last half of the first series was, for me, when it went from "this is a good undemanding programme that's nice to watch" to "omg, cancel everything on Saturdays to watch this!" Similarly Series Two takes a couple of episodes to find its feet again.
And now I shall go away until I find something other than Merlin to talk about.

neand Am currently turning my sleuthing skills to finding a teaching job. Pottering about in other things at the moment but it's not what I want to do really. amber1. I have had that illness too! Booooo. 2. Don't know why Facebook is not working, linked with the public link and the photos aren't private so goodness knows what is happening there. Here's a selection for you! Bradley and his bizarre facial hair. And Angel. Katie giving autographs The only non-sign obscured one I got of Anthony And then... Colin magics the lights on... And cheers his efforts. ;D I still go all goosebumpy now. (Also, have seen that vid of Bradley. He's such a geek I love him!)

Cardiff Lights was really good! A great atmosphere, despite the absolutely horrid weather (it actually stopped raining for the evening and started again just after they all left). I actually managed to get autographs from Colin Morgan and Katie McGrath and positively hyperventilated like an idiot when they spoke to me. Especially Colin. He was chatting away and personalising all the autographs - he even spelt my name right (there are a surprising amount of people who know me who can't get it right!) Amber I do have photos, I'm forcing my computer to upload them and tidy them up a bit. An annoying person a couple of rows in front of me held up a large sign during most of the Merliny bit (probably saying something like 'Bradley James, Have My Babies' or something equally inane) which blocked my view and that of lots of disgruntled people behind us. But never mind because I DO HAVE SOME PHOTOS! *squeak* Neand Cardiff is about 40 miles from me. I went with a friend and she drove. It took us just over an hour which was good considering it was pouring with rain and we could barely see out of the car. This was pretty much the first public event the cast had done outside of London, which is a lot, lot further away from us! Photos are here!
