Hello. I'm still alive. I've been revisiting Botineras and I plan to finish my recap of the last episode as soon as I catch a break from grad school. I'm glad more people have been discovering this story

Thanks Elizabeth and sprinkles! (Especially for checking back after so long!)
And there's a lot more to be recapped than one half. I'm going to do it by bits because I really have to study.

Recap for episode 142 [last episode], aired on August 25, 2010. Part 1.Status: 3/8 - not done. Last episode — I can't believe it Chiqui made Marga not drink the poisoned coffee that Mostaza's mother gave her in their cell and the police sent the coffee to be analyzed. The police set up a trap for Nino. Meanwhile, Nino met Tato and they agreed to meet in Paraguay after they both made their escapes separately. 280. Adorable Anguila is such a gossiper and has such a weak resolve He repeats a 1000 times to Mercedes that he can't tell her what he knows, only to end up telling her, all excitedly, that Marga killed Mirta. Cue to serious-business Flaco walking in on the gossip time and getting all angry. I love angry-Flaco to death 281. Lalito is so adorable and young, and he types mostly with two fingers (so do I!) He also writes pretty nice love/apology letters, but he's afraid of sounding lame He was typing something on his laptop - an email, I suppose? So we got voiceover, and such a sweet one I'll just translate it all: "You've helped me see life in a different way, value myself, respect others, take risks for what I want the most. You've taught me how to be a better person, how to love. I can't forget that — I don't want to, either. Without you I'm lost, Flaco. I don't find meaning in anything. I don't understand for what we're apart. I think I made a mistake when I asked you to leave. Now I know you're the person I need the most in the world." Then he sighed, looked into the distance, got all fidgety and said aloud: "No, he'll think I'm an idiot." And then he erased the whole thing Poor Lalito, lovesick and worried about sounding lame. I loved this scene. I watched it many times - it's so Lalo 282. Flaco loves confronting people. He went to Tato's and shouted at him and demanded why did he fuck them over when they were innocent. He managed to hit Tato on his side once yay! Anguila was there trying to keep him off Tato though. I know I'm repeating myself, but Flaco really does a great angry for someone who can be so whiny Tato has the gall of saying: "I made a mistake. Making mistakes is human." Flaco said he was going to kill him, Anguila kept him away and Tato kept being an asshole He did mention he had to leave to take care of sending away Mirta's body, which caught Anguila's attention. He later texted that to Chiqui, while trying to cheer up Flaco Lily went to visit Marga in jail and accused her for doing nothing while Tato screwed her (Lily) and the boys over for Mirta's murder when she (Marga) was the murderer. Marga was all dismissive and arrogant about it, saying that she is the one in jail and how can Lily come and be mean to her and gave her her lametastic speech about doing what she had to do to protect herself and her baby. Lily didn't buy her shit for once and told her she simply did it all not to get caught for killing Giselle, only thinking of herself. Chiqui tried to make Laura change her mind about killing Nino, but she said she had made her choice. But Riganti was onto her, so later when the police was going out to set up the trap for Nino, Riganti told Laura she wasn't allowed to go with them because Riganti wanted to catch Nino alive. So Laura lied to her face that she swore she wouldn't hurt him lol. Riganti didn't buy it and left an officer guarding Laura 283. Flaco always goes from angry to whiny or from whiny to angry. It's like a rollercoaster — you can't get the high without the low So he turned to Anguila and we all know he's a great friend, even though his advice is all stammered and he employs weird car metaphors Teary-eyed, Flaco told Anguila he had to look ahead, fix things with Lily so they could get along, spend more time with his children and figure out what to do about Lalo, how to explain that his love for him is true. So Anguila used his car metaphor to say Flaco should take things slowly and, specifically about Lalo, he should wait because maybe Lalo would see things differently soon and Flaco would just have to hold on and wait for the right moment to talk to Lalo. And then he got a text from Chiqui and left Flaco with a hug and saying he loves him. Anguila for best friend, yes/yes? 284. Marga thinks she can twist any situation around so that in the end she comes off as someone great Lily continued her face-off with Marga by telling her that her top priority in life had always been herself. So Marga tried to make herself look like the best friend ever by reminding Lily that she had warned her about Tato, let her stay in her flat and once screamed at Flaco "on her behalf" *cough*. Of course she conveniently forgot to mention all the times she badmouthed and ignored Lily, or tried to avoid and get rid of her And even if she had been Lily's best friend, that really really doesn't change the fact that she killed two people to hide her affair and dubious paternity case, which certainly warrants Lily's recriminations, even if Lily is indeed self-righteous. But Lily is a fool and ends up pitying Marga for being in jail [Marga even said: "you wouldn't stand two minutes in here" - well, newsflash, Marga, she doesn't have to because she didn't kill people like poor you Yes, I'm ranting about Marga but I'm really sick of her self-pity and self-justifying.] Oh c'mon on show! Left-behind Laura is analyzing a picture of kidnapped Malena and zoomed in on a car in the background and got the plate. How come no one had done that before? Any person who had ever watched a crime/police TV show would have thought of that She later got the bald officer to agree to letting her follow that lead. Meanwhile, Tato is leaving when a hysteric Mostaza shows up and tells him he's not going anywhere before he gets Mostaza's mom out of jail (for trying to poison Marga). Tato managed to trick Mostaza into distraction and then punched and kicked him repeatedly. Later he went to the cemetery, got the coffin and took it to an airport. Marga told her deluded mother that she'll get sentenced to 20 years, if she's lucky. Yeah, her mother thought she'd be out soon 285. Flaco has absolutely no idea of what 'taking things slowly' means! Really. He simply went to visit Lalo and dropped two bombs straight on his lap: "I love you" and "I feel that I'd like to spend the rest of my life with you." And then asked "what do you say?" And I'm not even kidding - they exchanged... Flaco: Hi! Lalo: What are you doing here? Flaco: I'm sorry I came here without letting you know. I needed to see you. Lalo: Okay, but you should have let me know. Flaco: I'm sorry, but you're not going to get rid of me that easily. [pause] How are you? Lalo: Good, good. Better. ... eight small-talk sentences before Flaco said: Flaco: Look, Lalo, I... I love you. [huge intake of breath from Lalo] And I feel like I want to spend the rest of my life with you. [loaded facial expressions from Lalo] What do you say? Flaco, if this is how you go slow, then I think you shouldn't drive a car, okay, babe? 286. The idea that Nino would send the police a picture of Malena with the car he was using in the background is simply ridiculous Laura got to the sawmill when Nino was loading his pick-up to make his escape. Only after arriving to the airport did Tato think of opening the coffin and then he saw that all the money was gone - the only thing inside was Chiqui's father's suitcase, which was in Chiqui's possession after Nino had left it behind. Then Chiqui and his walking stick showed up for a face-off. Meanwhile, Lily showed up with a lot of money in black garbage bags in a doctor's office and told him it was an anonymous donation. Oh c'mon! What honest doctor accepts donations in cash inside garbage bags?! The doctor was so happy that I imagine he must have got suspicious donations before and therefore know how to fool the tax authorities Laura released Malena and sent her running away.

Okay guys. First of all, thanks so much for still waiting on my recaps despite all the delays I'm super busy with a very important deadline ahead of me and I just can't do it now. I noticed that the last episode is longer than normal, which is great, but also awful for my schedule. So check back in around 10 days and I'll bring you the recap then, okay? Probably in parts, because it will take hours. I can't wait to do it, believe me. Many times I'm working and I think of how I wish I could be watching Boti and recapping instead I watched "the room of blinding whiteness" again this week and had to giggle at the wonderful phrasing of your recap... can't wait to hear what you have to say Chrys about the room of distorting mirrors... Aw thank you Sometimes the best things just pop in my head, and other times I spend a long time thinking how to say something. That one was instantaneous Room of distorting mirrors?! Now you got me curious

maya So glad I could help you with that ;D elizabeth I know They're the only interesting ones. But then again, it's not a problem just of Botineras, but of pretty much every single mainstream show and movie. Stereotypes of women are so ingrained in them that there are basically no female characters — only a boring, repetitive representation of someone who's sweet, obsessed with fashion, appearance and men, either manipulative or powerless, etc. I can't relate to almost any female character — it's sad, but has been true all my life. I'm gonna finish the recap now

Recap for episode 141, aired on August 24.Status: Done. So Marga said it was her who killed Mirta and we got treated to yet another flashback of how Mirta was murdered. Lol the woman has been killed a thousand times in a hundred different ways by several different people by now I think it numbed us so much we don't even care and even root for the moment she dies again, no? By the way, ever since she was killed, the show has managed to make her less and less likable, so we care less about her now then when she died. 273. Marga + Mirta about Lalo and Flaco = loads of homophobic comments and "eeews" And Mirta had the gall to say: "The worst is that Riveiro has children here that could have seen them [kissing on the living room couch, in case you forgot that great scene]." Really, Mirta? The 'children would be scarred' argument? Marga, do me a favor and kill Mirta right now. Chiqui and Anguila managed to drag Laura off Tato and later Laura told Chiqui that the police has proof that Tato and Nino were the ones that stole his money [back in the beginning of the show, making it look it was Chiqui's new manager Vacari]. 274. So show was really tricky enough to make Lily save the day and help Flaco... I suppose the whole point of Lilly's scripts is that they need to keep the actress busy with something, even if it doesn't make much sense. Anyway... she showed the tape to Mercedes and looked actually indignant about those two screwing Flaco over. Thanks, Lily Tato got annoyed with Nino because he kidnapped Malena when Tato wanted him to lay low, so he told him that from now on it's each man for himself. 274b. Mercedes called Flaco over, showed him the tape and told him she was going to contact people to have his sanction suspended and his contract renewed 275. Arregui has an alcoholic tendency, and so does Riganti, so this produces great quotes. Example: Riganti: "What a shitty day." Arregui: "Yeah, you're right. And there's only one way to end a shitty day. ¿Qué te parece si salimos a emborracharnos? [What about we go out and get drunk?]" Later we got an awesome scene of them really drunk on whiskey at a bar, singing while leaning over a piano. I love you, show And later they woke up in bed together and Riganti couldn't believe her eyes 276. Show, some things are very hard to do. Try to make Lily look like an innocent woman who got fooled by Tato is one of them. Lily said: "I feel like the dumbest woman in the world, Manuel. And have you in front of me reminds me of how I was an idiot all this time." Okay, maybe going for really, really dumb might work, but still, you guys spent all that time trying to make her look sly and smart Flaco of course is his adorable, understanding, comforting self and Lily says: "Thanks for not telling me 'I told you so'." Remember those gray-haired assholes from the club managing board who made homophobic remarks and voted against Flaco's contract renewal? Yeah, now that they know about the doping scheme, they feel self-righteous enough to ignore the coach and even say "don't touch me" to him. Cause, you know, they are just great people themselves 277. Revenge at last! Mercedes takes care of the coach, and he's so lame that she's more than menacing enough for him. He was really pathetic, trying to excuse himself and say it was Tato. Mercedes told him to quit and warned him that he will never coach professional football again, since the evidence was sent to the football association. Nino somehow delivered at the police station some photos of Malena kept hostage. By looking at those photos, the police officers deduced she was being kept at a sawmill. Dumb move, Nino A corrupt judge that's friends with Tato dropped by to let him know that Marga confessed to Mirta's murder. Tato got mad at Marga but he actually should be mad at himself. See now how dumb you are for mystically believing people are murderers without any proof, Tato?! Instead, he went to the cemetery again, to that crypt, and again put loads of money inside one of the coffins Then he looked at the other coffin hauntingly (creepy music included!) and said: "Mirta, my beloved, I promise you that this time you will rest in peace, because I'm going to get revenge." He means he won't fuck it up again by getting his revenge on the wrong people, but you know, he's dumb, so anything can happen. He ordered Mostaza to do the deed, so double dumbness. 278. Despite my wishes, Chiqui continues to be pathetic when it comes to Marga. So now he knows she also killed Mirta. Did he look shocked or disgusted or anything at all? No. It's just a normal thing that your wife kills innocent people to cover for having killed other innocent people, right? Wrong. You fail, Chiqui Mostaza's mother went to the police station (saying she had info on Nino) and she has a really bad attitude and a filthy mouth. No wonder Mostaza is so afraid of her. She raised hell at the station, on purpose, to get sent into a cell for the night and get access to Marga. She later put something in Marga's coffee but before Marga drank it, Chiqui (who was outside) found out Mostaza's mother was there and understood what it meant. Meanwhile, Nino demanded a plane and a safe escape in exchange for Malena but Riganti was adamant that they will not negotiate with him. 279. Show, your sad scenes are sad So you play a sad song while Flaco calls Lalo's house and hangs up, sad, without saying anything, because Lalo's mother picked it up? Yeah, sad, but you left me wondering since when Lalo does not have a cell phone. But then you show Flaco trying his cell phone and only getting voice mail, so yeah, very sad Wishes for the last episode: - Please, please Chiqui don't leave me while still being annoying as fuck. - Despite the last episodes' being good, there's still so much to be resolved that it can't possible be done well in one episode. As I can't wish for more episodes I'm going to wish against hope for the last episode not to suck really badly. - When it comes to the boys, there's really no way they can wrap it up to my satisfaction in a few scenes in one episode. So please just don't fuck it up more than you guys already did, show

Recap for episode 140, aired on August 19.Status: Done. Chiqui told Marga it's okay and promised her to stand by her side. I'm having a lot of trouble accepting so much support from him, but I suppose that if I thought Marga was a good person (and that things had happened the way she told Chiqui) and forgot how she only cared about Chiqui's money through a good part of the show (before they made her genuinely in love with him), well, that wouldn't be so crazy then, right? Lily got her phone back from under Tato's table and checked the recording. We can hear lame-ass coach getting his money and then Tato tells him they did Flaco a favor "by doing that," because now instead of being left out for being gay, he was suspended for doping. Lily looked (in a way, a bit, I guess, maybe) satisfied. Lesson 266. No, show, you're not going to make me pity Marga. Some things just can't be done The whole "all I did was out of love" thing? Also not flying, by the way. Oh show, there you go being precious again 267. Detective Anguila is priceless. Tato walking through a cemetery carrying a duffel bag and a bunch of flowers while being followed in a pseudo-subtle way by Anguila? Win And then Anguila decides to turn his coat's lapels up, so as to look more detective-like and more suspicious And he lingers in the shadows! Show I love you [But where are the police? They were supposed to be following Tato as well] And oh no, I'm lost about Lily again. Apparently she's surprised about Tato's being a son of a bitch, so maybe she wasn't playing him anyway Well, she grabbed her stuff and left his house. 268. Show provides very good crack Tato met some guys with a coffin. They put the coffin into a crypt and then they left and Tato went in. He got money out of the duffel bag and put it into one of the coffins [there was another coffin there]. Then he changed jackets, kissed the other coffin and left? Wtf!?! 269. Flaco's being sarcastic is an awesome thing we don't see nearly enough of. Flaco looked absolutely crushed sitting at Mercedes' office but then she told him it was decided not to renew his contract and he went sarcastic [by the way, the sarcastic huff? You've got it down, babe]. He said he expected it and that the doping thing was a great thing for them, because it was a lot easier to get rid of a junkie than of a f*g, much more politically correct. Mercedes wanted to make sure he knew she disagreed with the decision, but Flaco said that didn't change a thing for him. Then he asked for the result of his doping analysis and Mercedes told him it was cocaine. Flaco said she knew him and that she couldn't believe he took that, but Mercedes replied that the person who did the analysis was of her trust. He proceeds to pleading with her, accusing Tato, and finally Mercedes told him she believes him. Anguila reported to Chiqui that Tato had been to the cemetery to bring Mirta flowers, but Chiqui said Mirta couldn't be there because she was Jewish and the cemetery is Catholic. Super Chiqui got all confused and suspicious again. 270. What happens after Lalo spends some days crying over breaking up with Flaco? Answer: he turns into a 16 year-old person in love, giggling included! Oh Lalito in the room of blinding whiteness again His mom is there fawning over him and they're ready to leave the hospital. Then Flaco shows up and Lalo sends his mother away, prompting more funny expressions from her After she left, the boys immediately started smiling [maybe a bit out of nervousness on Lalo's part] and looking fondly at each other. Flaco tells him, with a flirty smile: "You can't wish I forgot all we've been through. One thing is to break up and another is to never see each other again. Or is that what you want? Is it?" Lalo's reaction: Repeatedly denying by shaking his locks, while smiling and acting all cutesy. Then he manages to look more dignified and say: " No, no, no. La verdad es que me encanta que estés acá. [= the truth is I love that you're here] Well, what? Are you gonna take me?" Flaco: "Anywhere you want." Aw boys, ustedes me encantan I suppose a lot of people might be confused or even outraged at how we went from the breaking up scene to this. Well, we didn't. There was that scene of utmost suffering where Flaco cried while looking at Lalo's back, and Lalo was also crying. Sometimes, when you step away from someone, even when you have a lot of internal issues [which is not the boys' case here], you spend some time apart and then, when you see that person again, you simply get so happy that it all turns around. And you're not together anymore, and it all seems refreshed, like back to dating and you see yourself being silly because you missed them so much. I say that from my personal experience [though I don't do giggling, no way lol], so I understand that I might be one of the few who understood this scene this way. Also, we had already seen how Flaco eventually reacts to Lalo's stepping away by flirting until he's crazy Wait, what?!? Lily was falling for Tato?! Is that why they showed her crying on the floor and then rejecting a call from him? She's dumber than I'd thought 271. Chiqui is making me really, really mad He couldn't justify killing Nino in self-defence but now he can justify Marga's actions? Where is your conscience? Anguila tried to tell Chiqui that comparing Vanina's death to Giselle's is bullshit, but he can't actually get it out fluently. But really Chiqui, comparing a car accident to a murder with motive, even if it was in the heat of the moment? Plus, he said: "She did it out of desperation." I'm sorry, babe, I like you and all but killing someone to hide an affair and a dubious paternity case does not get in my book of nice justifications. At least you're sensible when you say that you can't be mad about the cheating because you had also cheated on her and wanted to break up with her back then. But that does not make it okay to kill someone to hide an affair, babe. It just doesn't. You guys want to know when I felt like strangling him? When he said: "[Marga] did it because she loves me. It was her way of defending that and well, it's her way of loving." NO, just no, Chiqui! This love justifies all is simply bullshit. Please stop talking like an asshole and making me want to puke Riganti questioned Ethel and Marga about Mirta's murder and Ethel said she did it. It's not clear if she's just covering for Marga, though. The flashback with Ethel and Mirta talking [making homophobic comments about Flaco and Lalo, by the way ] and drinking tea seems out of character, because those two hated each other. In the end, Marga told her mom that she didn't need to do that and told Riganti that her mom lied and that she was the one who killed Mirta. 272. I love Bad-ass Laura! Yay. Laura stomped into Tato's house all bad-ass, roughed him up and pointed a gun at him, demanding to know where Nino is. When Tato said he didn't give a shit about Malena's being kidnapped, Laura hit him hard across the face - really, it was priceless. She wasn't done though. She grabbed him off the floor by his hair! Wishes: -May I please not hear Chiqui spilling out so much bullshit about love, gratitude and Marga. I want to fast-forward him so bad now. -May things stay as they are: nothing important happens in the scenes with Nino and Malena so I don't have to pay attention. And yes, I'm still bitter with Nino for killing my dear, dear Román

Recap for episode 139, aired on August 18.Lesson 259. These two guys' acting is so great, and when the writing helps and both of their arguments make sense for their characters, it's just a pleasure to watch, even if it's sad. Flaco went into sensible mode and tried to make Lalo change his mind about the break-up by pointing out it's not the time to make a decision like that. Lalo, oh so in character, tried to deny that it had anything to do with his current tragedy, though he would soon contradict himself Also, his crying and tone of voice and deep sad looks were just on spot Flaco: "I want to help. I don't want to leave you alone." Lalo: "It's okay. You know what's happening? Since our relationship leaked, for me things went from bad to worse, get it? It's ok, but I don't want to keep losing. I've hit the bottom with this - I don't have anything left to lose. It's all over for me." This is instantly one of my favorites monologues by Lalo. Not only it was perfectly delivered, but it makes perfect sense for the character. Lalo is desperate and he has a point: this relationship, since it stopped being a total secret, has greatly hurt him (though it was not Flaco's fault, but of their environment). Now we know Lalo's standard reaction to bad situations is to get defensive. So, though it hurts him, he's decided to step away to protect himself, because he feels like he can't take any more losses and pain. That's what good writing does: it makes people disagree while making their different reasoning believable and understandable. Flaco pleaded with him for time, for not throwing all they have away (though the Spanish phrasing is a lot more awesome: no tires a la mierda todo que tenemos = don't throw to shit all we have) but to no avail. Then came in Lalo's mother - who, I swear to you, used to look a lot less weird the first time she's been on the show, when she didn't have that perm/babyliss/whatever-I-know-nothing-about-hair-stuff - and found them both crying, and she seems to know what's going on. Not sure in how much denial she is, though. When Lily asked Tato to help Marga, he told her that Marga is guilty and that he's known for months, because Nino told him. Why did Tato impart all this information? Who knows? Maybe it was the only way they've found to get something for Lily to do on the show. She called Ethel (Marga's mom) as soon as Tato left. Later Ethel came over and told her the whole thing. Meanwhile, Chiqui cannot believe Marga is guilty and said she's incapable of doing such a thing. Poor clueless babe He told Riganti she can't stay in jail because she's pregnant and Riganti said Laura would take special care of her. 260. Marga has a good poker face (but facts are facts). The lawyer told her to cut the bullshit and tell him what really happened so he could make up some story to get her free, but she just said she went to Laura and Giselle's, they had an argument and when she left, Giselle was alive. Then the lawyer told her the police has her fingerprint covered in Giselle's blood, so Marga finally realized she's in really deep shit. Later she told the police how she killed Giselle, and she did so with the most impassible fierce face ever Then her lawyer tried to argue that she had reacted out of violent emotion, but that was quite hard with Marga so impassible like that 261. Mercedes is a rollercoaster (even though she's also super bland). Sometimes she is supportive, sometimes she blamed Flaco for all the problems she was having due to widespread homophobia in football. During a meeting with club execs, she went first route again and said, sarcastically: "So we shouldn't renew Riveiro because of the doping thing. I'm going to pretend there are no homophobes here, right? Because that's what it's about, let's drop the masks." Good one. I just wish she could be consistent Oh the rage One exec had the gall to defend their homophobia saying Flaco chose the wrong career because it's awful to share a locker room with someone "like that" Mercedes told them they had a last chance to do right by a good person and an excellent player and put his renewal to a vote. Result: yes - 1 (Mercedes); no - 5 (5 gray-haired assholes); abstentions - 1 (Tato - yeah, the fucker). Meanwhile, lovely Anguila is outside the room creeping on the meeting, because Chiqui had asked him to follow Tato. He called Chiqui to give him an update and heard the news about Marga. Lame-ass coach showed up at Tato's and Lily decided to be useful again and pressure him about Flaco. He's so lame he quickly became visibly uneasy. 262. Show hasn't forgotten those lessons on how to depress your viewers from episode 136. They show us Lalo's lying on his hospital bed with his back to us, his mother by his side. Then Flaco showing up at the door and sad music begins playing, which is cue for showing us long moments of Flaco crying while looking at Lalo's back from the door, in another inspired acting moment of Sancho's. Flaco then leaves, without ever being noticed, and they zoom in on Lalo's crying face. Result: sad scene is sad 263. The writers finally stopped making Laura be dumb about Mirta's murder case. She finally realized they should be asking who benefited from Mirta's death *and* that the Lalo-Flaco-Lily answer is bullshit. That she could have told the press and they could have simply denied it. What happened? With Marga's arrest, Laura realized Marga was the one who benefited from Mirta's death - because Mirta's discarded suicide letter (the one the murderer got out of the garbage and used to make it look like a suicide) said that Mirta had killed Giselle. Fernando decided to be useful and point out that it could also be Ethel. 264. Remember Lily loves recording people so that she finds out the truth? Well, that can be great as well. She put her cell phone on recording mode and taped it to Tato's table, where the coach was waiting for Tato. That was a great plan, because she had made him so uneasy by pushing him about Flaco's doping that he was sure to talk to Tato about it ;D So I suppose I'm closer to figuring out Lily, despite her wooden performance. She might actually be playing the 'keep your enemies closer' card all along. 265. Super Chiqui is super supportive. Chiqui begged Riganti to let him see Marga and she complied. He told Marga he wasn't going to question her but if she felt like talking, he would listen. [By the way, I have to compliment the show on doing such a good job of trying to make Marga a sympathetic character. Though it didn't fly with me, I had to remind myself the reasons why.] Marga told Chiqui [this time being very emotional] that she did it all to protect their family and that she ended up doing things she never thought she was capable of. She asked him to believe her that she didn't go to Giselle's with the intention to kill her, that they had a fight, and Super Chiqui replied he could understand that an argument could get really out of hand. He added that he wouldn't judge her for that, because of the thing with Nino [he could also have added the Mostaza thing, by the way]. Then Marga went back into craziness and said: "I swear it was her [Giselle's] fault. She pushed me into doing it." She then told Chiqui why and with what Giselle threatened her that day [exposing Marga's affair with Nino and the doubtful paternity of her child], all the while trying to justify it. Chiqui apparently bought her beautified version and held her hand. Meanwhile, Nino stole a taxi and kidnapped Malena. Another good episode When I left the show sucked so bad... I'm starting to fear that my judgment is clouded with how much I missed the show Tonight's question: -Is the show going to be so tricky as to make Lily save the day?

Recap for episode 138, aired on Aug 17.First recap after so long... I really missed the show but it's hard to get back on the depressing train I've left. Anyway, back to lessons... Lesson 251. Surprisingly, Anguila knows how to make Lalo see sense: get angrier than him, don't back down, until he feels guilty. First he said he wasn't going to answer Lalo's question ["Did you come here to make fun of me?"] and would pretend the stupid shit he was saying was because he was all beaten Lalo was on a roll, so he kept talking about how Anguila could be at ease now that he was out of the picture. Anguila made the right move and started calling Lalo all kinds of names until he backed down *claps* Good job He even got Lalito to say "Forgive me, you're right." And he managed to give that wise advice that doesn't really help, but what else can you say? So Lalo wondered what would he do without football and Anguila said he had to learn how to live his life differently. Uh? Show? There really was no need for you to show me Mostaza taking a shit. And yes, I know there was a word play there, and also that you thought it would be funny, but neither worked, believe me. 252. Amidst the drama, I forgot the show was so funny, especially unintentionally ;D Really, showing a laptop screen saying 'online transfers' and a world map with arrows going from New York, Cayman Islands and Switzerland to Buenos Aires is just about the most craptastic unrealistic way to portray a money transfer in the history of television Thank you! That was Tato and his smug smile, by the way. He also simply closed the laptop, which leads us to... Chiqui sneaking into Tato's office after he left and opening the laptop. There was a password though - thank goodness Tato's not that stupid! Even my laptop asks for a password every time I close it! Wait, I take that back. Tato is that stupid. Because he used 'Mirta' as his password, and of course Chiqui got it right in his second try 253. Caring and protective Flaco is the best thing in this whole tragic mess. Tugging Lalito in (and I love when he calls him that) and threatening to hit Anguila in case he bothered him Lalito told him to let it go because Anguila was right and: "I've spent all my life blaming everyone else for the shit I've pulled and the truth is I have to take responsibility for what I am. Otherwise my life isn't worth anything." *cues to tender moment of super tenderness* Flaco: "Yes, it is. For me you're the most valuable in the world." *sinister song and Lalo's long-lost mother at the door* Nino seems to be wandering aimlessly these days. He can't manage to flee the country because that goes against the story they're telling. They can't show him trying and failing because they've done that 2 or 3 times already, right? So they show him complaining about not being able to leave and now stalking Laura and Malena 254. Crazy plot of crazy: Lily answered the phone and found out Tato had ordered a coffin. Tato told Lily and Chiqui that Sofía asked him to take Mirta's body to Mexico, to be near her. Wait, Sofía is in Mexico?! And why would he need to order a coffin? Wouldn't the woman be in one already? Like, for months? Of course that's a cover-up for something even crazier, that won't work, because Tato is the master of lame evil schemes 255. Show? When the whole screen is a blast of blinding white and you're not doing an angel or after-death scene [which would be incredibly tacky, so don't get any ideas], that's precisely when you've put way too much lightning or way too little light filters, okay? And combining that with a white pillow and white hospital clothes... just don't. 256. Carrying on with the craziness... why in the world would Flaco be still in the room while Lalo talks to his mother? I mean, really, anyone would have left when she came in Instead they kept Flaco standing out of the frame until Lalo's mother looked up, thanked him and told him to get out. So we had a bonus awkward moment, with Lalo's mom wanting him gone and being on the verge of impoliteness, Flaco wanting to be acknowledged and reassured, and Lalo wanting him to go and take the awkwardness with him, but at the same time not wanting to be outright cold, which he translated into looking away while still answering Flaco in a hard tone, but also including a free "thank you". Quite some gymnastics you did there, Lalo Not quite successful though. I really like detective Chiqui. He's getting better at doing it for his own business too. He figured that Tato's story about the coffin was actually a cover-up for a escape plan. Obvious, I know, but he's missed a lot of obvious things in the past. Oh, and he mentioned that Sofía is in jail in Mexico. I have to compliment the show for showing so many fluffy scenes between Marga and Chiqui when we all know she's a villain and close to be punished. It's a very nice change of how things usually are in novelas close to the end. Mercedes told Flaco she was going to connect him with a friend of hers to do an independent analysis of his doping samples. Super Chiqui told sidekick Anguila the story about Tato's being the one who killed his father and asked for his help More adventures to come 257. In a given moment of every situation he faces, Lalo will get defensive and pull away. That's an unmistakable truth. So when Flaco went back to see him, he told him they had to talk and said he was going to go back to living with his mom. Flaco tried not to take that as the total rebuff it was, but Lalo wasn't going to let him. Lalo: "I've been thinking about it and I believe the best for both of us would be to break it all off and that we don't see each other anymore." Lalo actually looked quite sad during this, so you could see it was not a case of getting angry/scared, but a sad defensiveness that was also a bit for Flaco's sake maybe, and that he was aware Flaco would take it badly. I think it was the most mature of his pulling away scenes. 258. Did you ever wonder what the show would have to do to make me like Marga a little? Well, I have the answer for you: show her telling Chiqui she had learned to like Anguila, that she now adores him and that he's lovely, and topping it off by saying he should be their kid's godfather Oh, the details! While Nino was stalking Malena at the library, he picked up a book. Any book, you think? Nooo, a Dalai Lama book The police finally went to arrest Marga for old-Giselle's murder. I'm so happy about watching the show again that it may have clouded my judgment, but I actually liked this episode a lot.
