Q: [Some variant on "What's the kissing like, isn't it weird/uncomfortable/a lot of effort?"] A: That was one of the first things I told Igor - "If I ever hear about you doing an interview where you said kissing me cost you a lot of effort, I'm going to bash your head in." Q: [Something like "but it's easy for you, right?"] A: See, that's another one of those common assumptions - "oh, it must be easy for Grabosch, all he has to do is kiss that cute Dolgatschew"... but if I didn't like Igor, as a person, then it'd be more difficult. I wonder if there's any place in the world where reporters don't ask that tired first question, and the second question is borderline offensive.

It was a great response and something tells me that Igor doesn't have the issues that some others have talked about when it comes to same sex kissing. All the same, Dennis telling Igor that was all kinds of awesome. Notice we haven't come across Igor saying anything like that. ;D

Awesome! So happy for them both. Thanks so much btw for giving a partly translation Greenwich, because I have so much trouble understanding what they're saying. They talking so fast... Dennis is so much fun at interviews! His anwsers are never boring or cliche...

No problem! It's entirely possible I'm making half this stuff up anyway, it's really very hard to hear I agree, Dennis and his snark make even the silliest interview worthwhile, but I'd really love for someone to ask him some intelligent questions one of these days.

It's one of the reasons I wish more entertainers would come out - because it does have an impact for people around you to know that the person they love/respect is gay. Hope you all had a nice holiday season...

Dennis indeed is lovely. But unfortunately that's not the case with that guy doing the interview. The questions were extremely stupid even though Dennis did a fantastic job coming up with smart answers and remarks anyway.
And stupid me always figured that it would either take an actor or a gay man doing the interview to avoid the annoying question of whether it was hard to kiss another guy. Both of that are now officially proven to be wrong. There was this interview of Igor and this actor from 'Unter Uns' called Mars, who was like "Oh, I couldn't do that!" all the time and now we've got this. It's annoying.

*nods* Dennis has bad luck with interviewers! He always seems to get the ones asking the stupidest, most stereotypical of questions. I'm impressed at the good grace with which he handles them - he lets on enough snark to show he thinks the questions are daft but he never rips off their heads like they deserve. He should get a medal.

You know, between the nutty reporter at that Giga.de show, the crazy aunty at Viva, the immature gals on express.de and the kinda dubious guy on of Streetwalk... I'm wondering if German reporter are just collectively stupid.

He is so witty! I wish there are more english speaking actors could be like that so I don't have to drop dead from the boredom everytime I watch them interviewed.

Deniz Grabosch did an interview with f*ghags. Here is the first part. Q: DeRo kicked off a huge storm back then, something that nobody could have expected. How did you experience the hype back then? What's your take on it now?
A: We weren't trying to kick anything off. We just threw a pebble onto the water surface that made a few waves before plummeting. But what more can one expect? In the best case scenario the story managed to effect something with somebody. What it effects one will never know exactly, but that's not what it is about anyway. What moved me was the resepectful treatment of very different people of each other on the forums and the exchange of opinions that often when beyond dealing with AWZ. Since I knew the progression of the story it was clear to me that it wouldn't stay that way for long. But that's life: All things must end! (Sentence in English) Q: What is an average day of shooting like for you? Do you have particularly beloved collegues with whom shooting is particularly fun? A: When we start early I firstly penetrate all my colleages with meaninless ranting to compensate my frustration that I have to be up already at this hour. When I've been through all of them I buy new cigarettes and start accosting the extras. I like being at the studio best because there my collegues can't run from me and some of them receive my blabbering directly into their ears through headphones. On days where there is no ice skating I thank god on my knees for my job. At home my fat cat is wating for me and is happy when I feed him and keep my trap shut for the rest of the evening. Naw, seriously, I actually like all of my collegues, simply because I know few people that well that I would have a reason to dislike him or her. I still love shooting the most with Ingo and Annette and from the first day on with the new Jenny. I just wish I could remember what their real names are. Oh yes: André Dietz, Ulrike Röseberg and Silvia Maleen. (I don't know if those last few sentences are by him or from the interviewer) Q: If you could decide freely, what direction would Roman develop into? What would happen to him in the future? Roman would throw out the red couch, tie Deniz to a chair and force him to have an air clearing conversaton. That would take approximately 3 x25 mintues. But then Roman would be a free men, would force Ingo and Annette to adopt him and then - now knowing that he has a family - leave Essen skating and open a males only sauna in Eisenhüttenstadt with his best evil friend Jenny. Q: After your nickname "Bunny" not only became a raging success on the show but is also being used in fan circles now to describe you, what do you actually think of it? Does it suit you or are you cursing the writers for coming up with it?A: "I call all women baby, because that so unbelievably comfortable..." Bunny is just about the least creative nickname one can think of. I think it actually wasn't thought up by the writers but by my collegue Andre Dietz. Oh well, bunny is better than lip. Q: About you respectively Roman a lot of fanfictions are being written. What do you think about that personally? More weird or flattering after all?
A: Unfortunately I haven't read a lot of these because I don't understand why Roman, when things are about to get busy, is always put into the passive clichee. That's so uncreative! But I don't want to sound like Annie Proulx. She wasn't in the mood for Brokeback Mountain fanfic at all. Funny actually, since most of them don't stem from her literary achievement but more from the single action sequence in the movie of the same name where Heath Ledge decides to get it on with Jack Gyllenhal as opposed to with a sheep. One has to see fanfic as what it is, can't connect it to oneself and if oneself appear in it, better not read it at all, LOL. But today eventing I will try my luck with a fanfic myself: "Brokeback Mountain Dolly, the untold story of a sexually frustrated sheep"

Dennis is awesome. Thanks for the translated transcript. It was a much needed escape from a frustrating reality. I wish they could give his character something meaty and driven finally. And I like Dennis's idea. I already found it impossible to dislike the old Jenny, and I find myself really liking this new one as well.

Second set of the DG questions is out. The main thing worth noting is that they ask him what his favorite gay couples are. He says his fave bare none are Jamie and Ste (from Beautiful Thing) and that he was positively surprised by Hollyoakes. He remembered the show as being kinda bland, but he as positively impressed by how well the gay storylines have been done.

This man really is fabulous- I just love everything he says pretty much- I might not agree with all of it, but I love the fact that he just says what he wants (I wonder how much of that was his hubby's influence?). And he is damned funny ;D
I so hope that I run into him and his hubby one day in London so I can tell him in person.
I so hope I'm not blind drunk that day and make a tit of myself... ;D

I think he's pretty capable of speaking his mind without needing to be influenced to do so
