So, you're willing to dampen expectations just as long as Chris is onscreen in some aspect? Absolutely not. I do want Chris to have an ongoing love interest (and in an interview with the producer recently he stated that it was a 'priority' for this year to find one) I'm just concerned that they won't be treated in the way that they should be, that's all.
By the way, I do apologise if my messages seem like a rant- I have a habit of doing that, particularly if it's online and people can only read the literal things that someone writes. I don't like to be pessimistic or influence anyone else/ 'dampen expectations' but these were just concerns that have grown in recent times, so I thought I'd share them. So sorry if I have caused disagreement, though that's what forums like these are for: debate.

I guess the reason why so many of us (myself included) want a regular to be the love interest of Chris is because so far, all his relationships he had in the show pretty much developed in the background. They weren't exactly very well-written or well-developed. And having a regular as a potential love interest means there is a higher chance of their relationship being developed in a more thought-out way and they will be featured more in the foreground.
And also, it doesn't necessarily means they have to be the endgame, one of the characters could have exited the show anyway if the actor decided to end the stint or the writers decided to write him off.
Maybe I am expecting too much from a conservative show like Neighbours.

I know it's not relevant to Chris' storyline, but has anyone seen 'Better Man'? I watched it a few weeks ago and to say that Remy deserved the award would be an understatement. The whole series (including his performance) was phenomenal! I knew before I even watched it that it wouldn't exactly be rainbows and puppies but it was a bit of a shock to the system to go from watching him on Neighbours (which is pretty much rainbows and puppies in comparison) to seeing him on 'Better Man', but either way I absolutely loved it and would recommend it to anyone (within the appropriate age group obviously, as there is frequent bad language and heavy sexual references). I assume that I can share links to the series on here. I think it's supposed to be in four parts but YouTube has it in two parts which are just over an hour and a half long each. If anyone's interested then you can find both parts here: Part 1: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zdy8A7ks7GcPart 2: www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjR44lTbILkJust a pre-warning, if you're a sensitive soul (like myself) then you might want to get some tissues ready; I'm kind of ashamed to admit it but I cried like a little girl in the final few minutes...

Here are the Chris related spoilers for upcoming episodes (highlight below to read):
Tuesday 27th May 2014 Chris tries to figure out what he wants from Will.
Tuesday 3rd June 2014 Chris and Will hit a major hurdle
Unfortunately he doesn't seem to be appearing much over the next few weeks (including this week) in his own storyline, but he will undoubtedly be appearing as a support somewhere between these episodes.

Neighbours has released another backstage video starring James Mason (it's been roughly a year since the last one): www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkboCQOXSIE&list=UUfD_lRESpOvOfMUNBZkyXgAHe teases the scene that he's filming (from episode 6946- so it will air sometime around August) with Chris Milligan (Kyle), Saskia Hampele (Georgia- who he seems to be having quite a few scenes with these days) and Colette Mann (Sheila); his character seems to be having a dilemma of some sort, but obviously the actors are being a bit vague about what it is.

Here are the updated spoilers for the next few weeks (highlight below to read):
Tuesday 27th May 2014
Confronted by confusing messages about their budding relationship, Will orders Chris to decide if he wants to be with him or not.
Tuesday 3rd June 2014
Chris' hopes of progressing in his romance with Will fade when they introduce their dogs Bossy and Napoleon and Napoleon attacks Bossy, leaving Will refusing to take responsibility for his pet's actions. (This sounds kind of funny, but I am worried that because this is supposedly Will's eighth -and apparently final- episode, this may be the break-up, and it would be kind of a silly thing to break up over. I could be wrong though.)
Wednesday 11th April 2014 Chris stumbles on a surprising photo.
Spoilers are courtesy of Southern Cross Media and TV Week

I haven't watched neighbours in a while, so I don't know what's happening. However, I do wonder what Herbison means by: regular. Full time cast member, or a recurring role that seems regular but will eventually peter out?

Jason Herbison has expanded on his interview, this time with Inside Soap (he basically elaborates slightly on some of the points raised in the Digital Spy interview). This is what he had to say about Chris this time (highlight below to read):
Chris is my fave Neighbours character. Will he get a nice boyfriend soon?
Chris is definitely going to be getting a nice boyfriend in the near future. We’re bringing in a new character who’ll be with us for the long term and he will be Chris’ new romantic interest. So there are good things ahead!
Although nothing's confirmed, I reckon that this character is the one that he mentioned in the Digital Spy interview when he said 'We've also just welcomed a new member to the regular cast. As a hint, I can tell you he'll be living in the Kennedy house'. Obviously that's just my theory, so don't take my word for it.

Meyne Wyatt has been cast in the 'ongoing' role of Nate Kinski (cousin of Zeke, Rachel and Katya) who will be living with the Kennedy's (as he is technically related to them). As I've said, though nothing's been officially confirmed, it is possible that he will be Chris' new love interest (just don't hold me to that because I may be wrong), in which case I would have to applaud Neighbours for their casting since each one has been ethnically diverse from the last. It's not been confirmed when exactly he will arrive, but it should be around September or October. I hope he says no. A baby will surely spice up his love life . You do have a point- it is pretty common (and boring) for soap gay characters to have babies, but this scenario is different from most of the other (the rest of this will be in white- even though it's not particularly spoilery- so highlight to read): for one thing he's not slept with Lucy, he's not lonely, confused or denying his sexuality. If he does it, he'll be doing it because he wants to help a woman in need (despite it being a woman he barely knows and her being the sister of the guy who almost tore his whole life apart not two years ago) and because he doesn't have a love interest, so he doesn't see children as a possibility at the moment. Besides, it's Lucy who wants to be a parent (even though Chris has previously mentioned that he wanted kids at some point), it doesn't necessarily mean that Chris will take on a huge responsibility as a father. As far as I'm aware, Lucy's a recurring character so she'll probably be heading off soon anyway, so it's unlikely that this child will have a massive impact on Chris. I do agree with the baby 'spicing up his love life' since the show has clearly been foreshadowing Chris' upcoming love interest by having him express his desire to be in a relationship (again, the next part is in wh ite). They'll probably go for an extremely soapy situation where Chris accepts Lucy's offer just as his love interest arrives and Chris is caught in a difficult situation. Actually, on the Channel Five website, they've teased that the character of Nate will have a 'new and exciting romance'- this might be Neighbours' idea of 'new and exciting'. Again, nothing's been officially confirmed, so I could be wrong.

Here are the Chris related spoilers for upcoming episodes (highlight below to read):
Thursday 7th August
Chris is torn between Kyle and Georgia, until Lucy comes to the rescue.
Friday 8th August Lucy has a surprising proposition for Chris.
Monday 11th August
Chris considers Lucy's offer.
Monday, 18th August Sparks fly between Chris and a mysterious but handsome stranger.
Tuesday, 19th August Chris' date takes an unexpected turn.
By the way, I made a mistake when I said that Nate would be arriving around September or October- it's actually on the 13th of August, making it highly probable that he is the man that Chris goes on a date with.

Ok, it now has been officially confirmed that Nate Kinski is Chris' new love interest. Digital Spy has released an article giving more information (obviously containing spoilers): www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s14/neighbours/news/a589512/neighbours-chris-pappas-to-date-newcomer-nate-kinski.html#~oMByb1iLeyGLydTo be fair, as one person commented, most people saw that coming. At least the character sounds interesting: not the usual 'nice guy' or 'sensitive guy'; he has been described as being 'weird', 'mysterious' and 'misunderstood', which is a nice contrast to what we've seen previously. Plus, by the sounds of it, it will be a slow burner (well, as 'slow' as this show is willing to go with them) and there will be hurdles which come from their personalities and secrets, which should be intriguing. Let's just hope they pull it off. In that case, here are the spoilers concerning him for the week commencing 25th August (highlight blow to read): Tuesday, 26th August What is Nate hiding?
Wednesday, 27th August Nate's past threatens his new relationships
