SPOILER ARTICLE FROM TV WEEK
Evil intent Gay teen Chris's safety is at stake when he raises the ire of Warren by forming a friendship with his son
After weeks of being bullied by a homophobic customer, Chris finally finds the courage to stand up to Warren Burrell. However, the nasty trash-talking tyrant's reaction takes their feud to a whole new level when he threatens the teen's life. Leading up to the attack, things finally appear to be going well for Chris after Lucas proudly displays a "gay friendly" sticker outside his business. "Chris sees that Lucas is really trying to understand. [He] feels good that he sees this respect between Lucas and himself and that they're starting to build trust again," James Mason, who plays Chris, tells TV WEEK. And with this support boosting his confidence, Chris takes control during yet another altercation with Warren, telling him that his comments are "offensive" as he is gay. "This time not only does Lucas stand up for him, but I think Chris has also found the confidence to stand up for himself," James says.
However, thing take a nasty turn after Chris begins a friendship with Warren's son, Blake (Oliver Edwin). Happy to have found a friend outside of school, Chris enjoys some time hanging out with Blake, but he's shocked when Warren confronts him and threatens to kill him if he goes near his son again. "He's pretty shattered that he's built this friendship with a guy who he can relate to and treats him nicely for who he is. It's just a shame that they can't keep that friendship going because of Warren and what he's like," James says. "I don't think Chris, or Blake for that matter, really know how serious Warren was when he told Chris to stay away. Blake's outraged by his father's sudden outburst. Chris is taken aback by what Warren has said, but he's angrier about the way he's been treated." Disgusted by his customer's behaviour, Lucas urges Chris to report the threat to the police. But shy Chris doesn't want to draw attention to himself. "He doesn't want people to make a big fuss of him. He doesn't like the spotlight on him. And for something that's bad, like in this instance, it's much worse," James explains. Whether Chris decides to report the incident to the police or not, it seems someone already has a plan. When Blake turns up at the garage to apologise to Chris for his dad's behaviour, the suspense is palpable when it's revealed that someone is lurking, watching Chris's every move. "Something big is going to happen," James warns. "It may not end well for Chris, and going by the words spoken [by] Warren, it may have a good deal to do with him." Could Warren be about to get his revenge, once and for all?

I've been so busy with exams this week so thanks for posting the videos and the spoilers, kevvoi! I still really like Chris' character. with all the spoilers that have been announced for the upcoming months it will be interesting to see how it all plays out. I'm particularly looking forward to seeing how Aidan will be finding his place in the storyline.

Yeah, I know -- it is really nice that they are finally allowing Chris to have real storylines where he isn't supporting Tash or Summer and is allowed to do his own thing. I've been waiting over a year for him to have some worthwhile stories. (I'm still about ~2weeks behind on Neighbours -- as I watch the full show on Cickybab's channel. -- so I am glad the season break is coming up, so I can get caught up).

I'm surprised at the pace Chris' story line is having now. I guess somehow I got used to the every third weeks to every second month-appearance from Chris. it's quite horrible to see Chris in such pain in part 30 but I'm happy that Aidan makes Chris talk when Lucas, Chris' father and the doctor were failing to convince Chris to talk. being a first time meeting for Chris and Aidan, I think it's pretty special how Chris opens up when they talk.

Yeah, Neighbors is kind of typical of soaps in sort of rotating it's characters through major storylines (for a couple of episodes) followed by weeks of fewer appearances (or even just being in the background). Chris is kind of unusual, in that he really has only had, maybe three "major" storylines -- his coming out (a year and a half ago), when he first started working at the Garage, and now the current storyline. The show itself has probably 30 or so major characters. I think the three other older teens (Summer, Andrew and Natasha) have had more storylines than Chris.

thanks for the input, kevvoi! I don't follow the entirety of "Neighbours", but I did follow "Home & Away" for quite some years. I think it's exciting that Chris and Aidan's storyline is a cliffhanger in the year end episode. also, I finally managed to check out how they spell Aidan's name (it's Aidan Foster). some people have been commenting on Youtube how Chris reacts to other people's comments about him being attacked - he reacts the way a rape victim would do (what the comments at Youtube said). this is interesting, because when there are people who have been attacked because they are gay, it often appears in the newspapers and on internet (at least in my country, not sure whether that is common elsewhere) due to the fact that they are courageous enough to point out the reason (sorry for the long sentence!). I'm thinking maybe Chris repeatedly tries to hide any pain or fear he's feeling because he's not yet being entirely accepted for his sexual orientation. so if his father only knows that he has been attacked, he won't have to deal with more of his father's reactions to the fact that he's gay.

You will be excited then, another Home and Away alumnus is going to be a guest star in the early part of next year's episodes -- Lincoln Lewis will play a marine biologist and the new (but brief) love interest of Kate Ramsey (a student teacher at the highschool/the woman who runs Harolds [the coffee shop]/ Andrew's older cousin). Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Neighbours_characters_(2012){I have to admit, that I would like to watch Home and Away, but really cannot commit to watching another show right now. Neighbours is enough for my 1 soap limit }

Knowing that Chris is going to survive actually kind of made the last episode of the season much less of a cliffhanger (I had a Neighbours marathon last week and finally got caught up). Thank you Frokes for the batch of spoilers.
The spoiler about Toadie does not surprise me at all.
Lincoln Lewis will be part of the cast for only four weeks. Oh, and if I had looked through the entire list of new characters, I would have seen that he isn't the only Home and Away alum. joining the show. Alin Sumarwata is also joining the show as a professional chef.
