Thanks so much Nanna and Tihkon!!! The caps are great! Okay, I have to say something that others may not agree with: I want Rob to be a jerk -- and he is -- however, I understand why he had to act badly to Olli when Olli was pitching the conservatory idea on the sidewalk. Rob was talking to Mark, Olli's competitor. The last thing Rob wants Mark doing is hearing some great idea Olli has. He may have to dismiss Olli so Mark doesn't catch on to the fact that Rob is doing business with Olli now. This could be an indication that Rob wants to do buisness with Olli. Okay, call me crazy, or Rob-centered. I'm not pro-Rob; it's not like I've changed my avatar or anything!

Of course the encounter on the street would have been the perfect opportunity to introduce Rebecca as a von Lahnstein, whose family owns the stables, and put the responsibility for saying no to the party on her family instead of Christian. She owes them, and Christian, still IMHO. Instead, we get juicy conflict and drama, and a story for and about Olli that has lasted more than several eps. Good old, brash and petulant Olli is back, just the way we like him. Combine that with good old, stubborn Christian, and we have the makings of a potentially good long-term story for them. What I enjoy most is that it's based on who they are and what they do professionally. It's not some crazy contrived plot at this point. Both want success professionally. Steady sportsman Christian understands the slow progress of his situation, and Olli (true to form, like when he bought into NL) wants everything NOW. This is going to be interesting to watch.

Rob played Olli like a puppet I was 100% with Christian. And the R person might have her special reasons, but it was good that she told Olli that Christian was right. ^^ Exactly this. Rob's an ass, pushy, and is clearly manipulating Olli. He seems to see Olli's intense desire to be part of that elite/hip party scene (whatever you want to call it). Good grief, he barged in on Olli's date with Christian yesterday. Olli wasn't unreasonable in asking Christian to help, but his reaction to Christian's refusal was totally unwarranted. Sigh. <-- me settling in for the story Oh, and Danke Alles!

Sigh. <-- me settling in for the story Oh, and Danke Alles! At first when Rob came on the scene I thought that he would be after Olli and that Christian dislikes him out of jealousy. However, despite the winks of the previous episode I'm not feeling that Robert has any lustful intentions towards Olli. In fact as said above he is very manipulative and downright dismissive of Olli even in the previous episode. It could be that Christian's dislike of Rob is maybe due to his obvious manipulation of Olli and Olli not making enough time for Christian in his quest to be Dusseldorf's best party venue. I also think that Christian's dislike of Rob is rather similar to his dislike of Olivia. His open dislike of Olivia was a gut reaction, that was then reinforced by the way she said what she thought even it was hurtful, schemed, manipulated and badly treated people. Along comes Rob, who appears to be just like Olivia except with more brains.

Thank you Joanna (will save all those beautiful caps when I am home again), Thanks Nanna (huuuuge hug), Thanks Paul (hope, you haven't suffered too much from ... erm... the side effects of a certain Ice Tea ;D ), and if I am already there Thanks Ivan (spilled coffee all over my friend's keyboard and am trying to find a way to explain that ) I really like that this ministory is only between the two of them and their character traits. We have seen them both act like that before and tho it breaks my heart, I am sooooooo glad that we FINALLY get the long awaited drama. So Zam move over and pass me the popcorn I will enjoy every step of the way

I'm wondering what drove Olli to choose to let Christian know he would be sleeping on the couch. Correct me if I am wrong, but even with Andi living at the flatshare there is still one spare bedroom for Olli to use. Is Olli consiously or unconsiously playing the martyr and trying to make Christian feel guilty about turning down Olli's request for help in reaching his dream? Or was the "couch" reference a metaphor for letting Christian know he was going to "get any tonight". In this situation I am siding with Christian (disclaimer: I am partial to Thore. We share the same birthday, although a different year). The stables are not the place for a party. It will be interesting to see if there any more signs of a freezeout by Olli in upcoming episodes and to find out who will take the first step in apologizing.
BTW a big thanks to Nitty who pointed out that I have been a lurker. I didn't even know there was such term on the boards. I watch Nanna's subbed video when it is posted around 8pm my time and by the time I log on my thoughts on the episode have usually been mentioned much better than I could express them. I will post any of my thoughts if they haven't already been mentioned when I log on.

Yes, Olli meant by that that he's angry with Christian and he's not getting any tonight. He thought he deserved unconditional support regardless of how sensible or not his idea was. Funnily enough not so long time ago he thought Andi should be told that what he wanted to do was silly and he would not support it.

Yup, I totally think Olli was being a brat, telling Christian he'd be on the couch so he'd feel bad. Maybe Olli really did sleep on the couch though. Maybe there isn't actually a bed in the leftover room, or maybe they use it for storage so it's not even an option. Actually, I bet Andi took Olli's old room and Judith's is still partially filled with boxes of her stuff she hasn't come to get yet. *over-thinking*

I stand by Christian on this one. Having a party at the stables with prized horses is just plan dumb. What was Olli thinking or wasn't he? He's so caught up in fame and fortune with this Robert character leading the way that there was no consideration given to Christian's thoughts on all this. Olli just assumed Christian would accept this idea with open arms. And if there is one thing that I find detestable...it's when someone throws the old guilt trip on you to make you feel bad. By Olli saying to Christian that he doesn't have his 'back' was horrible. As we have seen Christian has always gone out of his way to support Olli. It's only this time that he has refused this idiotic party idea.
And Christian is right to dislike this slicker than an oil spill Robert. Olli talks about Christian not having his 'back' but on the contrary...Christian has Olli's back all the way.
I'm really loving this storyline. I'm pumped up to see what happens in Monday's episode. ;D

I know that I am completely in the minority here (not that I care) but I still think that Christian could have handled the situation much better than he did. I do think that Olli was being selfish but so has Christian many times in the past. I think that Christian should have come up with an alternative solution rather than putting his foot down and then what was that "how was your day darling". Sorry, but that would have pissed me off too.
Anyway, Yes, I am partial to Olli...BUT again, I can see both sides and I think both sides were being a bit self serving here. Olli is letting himself be manipulated by Robert out of his desperate need to succeed and Christian is jealous and therefore not trying to listen to Olli at all or try to work out a solution together..so the only person winning here?? Robert.

I do not understand why Olli thought Christian's word would change anything. It's not like he owns the castle. He could probably talk to Frau Linse, David, and maybe Justus, but that's about it. OTOH there's Andi with a direct line to Ludwig and then there's Re-beccaaaa, who is also Olli's bestest friend. As for Christian asking Olli about his day, that wasn't meant ironic, he wanted them to talk, but chose the wrong words. But the state Olli was in, it was enough for him just to see Christian

Well, I can agree that Christian choose poorer words than he could have when he turned Olli down initially. Instead of saying "No way I'm gonna do that", he could have said "Sorry, but I really don't have that kind of influence here," and tried to explain why it was a bad idea for the horses he's responsible for watching (which could cost him his job, etc.). As far as I'm concerned, though, that still doesn't excuse Olli's overreaction.

I thought that the scene in the flatshare was more concerning when Christian said "super important party" (making fun of it), obviously without realizing that this is what Olli actually wants from Robert. But then the situation changed and Olli even wanted to cancel Robert I think until Christian said "I have to work with Elias". So if Christian has more "important" things to do that comes first and only then he doesn't mind that Olli would meet Robert?
Olli wasn't wrong when he said Christian had a problem with it before and that he doesn't take it serious. I really would expect that if someone like Olli is suddenly like this, Christian should worry about him and try to find out what's wrong. It feels like "retaliation" now especially when Olli never used these situations like the Miriam kiss because he knew Christian feels bad enough.

I agree that Christian could've chosen a better choice of words. But the whole thing happened pretty fast, planning a picnic (everytime they plan a picnic it brings doom ) and Olli showing up with Robby. That already pissed Chrstian off and then Olli tells about the party. So you get the instant not well thought reaction. Olli gets easily hyped about things, I share that in common, and becomes obsessed with it. So he brings out the big guns. Hes get puppy eyes sad, nope didn't work. Then gets really pissed and lashes out tongue cutting words, didn't work against Christian's flippant response. Now at the end brings the guilt card tactic, ooh thats deadly. I have to say they know how to battle ;D, but one of my favorites is the silent treatment, ignoring your other half always works out for me. I wonder if Chrisitian might do it, but with Robert around I doubt it. Oh look Voldemort being all wisdomy and things, stop smiling at Olli! You wicked banshee! But yea Olli should ask her anyways about the party plans... but maybe i guess he sees Christian is a closer friend to her or something?

As for Christian asking Olli about his day, that wasn't meant ironic, he wanted them to talk, but chose the wrong words. But the state Olli was in, it was enough for him just to see Christian I think all Olli wanted was for Christian to "try". Try being the key word here. That is all it would have taken and I don't think for one second that would have cost Christian his job. And if Christian truly thought it would..then sit Olli down and explain it a little. Not look at him with a flat out NO as if your word is the final say so and you hold all the cards. (which in the case, Olli seemed to think he did - why? I have no answer). Olli was hesitant to ask, so he knew it was a lot, he knew he was pushing it..therefore, he was already nervous. For Christian to turn around with such a look of "are you stupid" as he answered NO, I would have become just as defensive as Olli. I think Christian should have tried or helped Olli by coming up with an alternative. It only took Rebecca three whole seconds to come up with 2 or 3. Can Christian not come up with one or two? Now, on the other hand, I do think Olli is getting a bit carried away with this. I think he needs to cool his jets a bit. But we all know this fight has to happen...the writers insist. But frankly, I'm kind of glad Olli finally got a bit of "I've finally got a dream and by GOD, I'm going for it". Good for him. He has helped everyone else for too long.

Also we have to remember how ironic this is for Olli because not two days earlier he was waxing rhapsodic to Re-beccaaaa (so true ivan, that's exactly how he says it) About how although He and Christian differ in tastes and although Christian can be pig-headed he's always there when he needs him. Olli is feeling like a fool now when in this one instance where he feels he needs Christian, Christian isn't there or doesn't support him immediately. And yes, as many people have pointed out, Olli should have approached Re-becccaaa first or someone else who isn't staff at the lahnstein castle. I think Olli is approaching christian 1. because it's rob's suggestions and our Olli seems to have a very dangerous weak spot for Rob 2. Because Olli isn't sure himself of the feasibility/ rightness of this suggestion. In a way I think he was looking for Christian's tacit approval. Now that he doesn't get it, there's a tension within Olli to please rob, and the ever present tension to work with/ get along with/ have Christian's support and approval. He can't very well lash out at Rob, who holds tantalizing promises of success (and perhaps ball -gags?) So he lashes out at Chrissie Baby. Whom you must admit Sozment, has been behaving himself very well in spite of the jealousy and resentment he's obviously feeling. Lastly, I think Olli feels a little put out b.c. he's supported dreams that Christian has had that were ostensibly not feasible. I'm thinking back to the vlog where Christian tells Olli he wants to work w. Horses...Olli's expression was skeptical but resigned and accepting and it sent Christian over the moon and empowered him to pursue the goal. Now we have Olli in a similar situation, and Christian immediately poo poos it. But! You would think that Olli would realize by now that this is Christian's personality. Christian Scoffs first, thinks and accepts second, and once he decides to support something he's unshakeable in his loyalty. I cannot help but think that this is all a grand orchestration by "Call me Rob." Watch out Olli, he's probably got the paddles all ready for ya...

Yes, Christian was too blunt with his response and he probably enjoyed that Bob would not like it, but Olli is such a drama queen every time things don't go his way. And is it his only reaction he's capable of, when he wants to apologise for something, it's sex, when he wants to punish Christian, it's a denial of sex

I think it was a different situation when Christian said he wanted to work with horses. Olli's reaction was 'Where did this come from?' but it was not something he'd have to be against. It was certainly a step up from being a tree. Christian was now against this one particular idea to make noise around the animals, but not against Olli's planning the parties.

I too think that the party wasn't one of Olli's brightest ideas and he reacts a little childish when Christian said no, but Christian reaction was harsh too and I can't help but think that one of the reasons he was so rigid in denying his help was because of his jealousy of Rob. It's not the first time that he acted drived by an irrational jealousy which has no foundation at all.

One way to look at Olli's speech about how, when it comes down to it, Christian is there for him is that Olli is totally right about how he sees things between them. Christian was rather abrupt in how he handled things, but he did have valid reasons for his refusal there, too. Christian does have his 'back'; he is always there for him when it matters. Olli knows this, even if he sometimes loses sight of the fact. And in this speech, he also says how special they are, how much of a great fit they are...so as he's correct about Christian genuinely being there for him, the fact he also includes how special/a great fit they are.... Speeches can sometimes have an ominous air to them, but they can also tell things exactly as they both are and will be...
