Tongue? I watched the video again and unless we're talking about different parts of the human anatomy here, I didn't see anything like that.
They probably figured if they told nobody beforehand, it wouldn't make that many waves. Thank God, there's this little thing called YouTube.

yeah. there was no tongue, only spit :-) but then - there's no real tonguing involved when jo and thore get at it (although the combination of hot actors - good soundtrack - clever filming indeed makes it seem more real).
it's funny - PGP is in a position where it just can't win: if they don't let them kiss, they are a bunch of backward homophobes. if they let them kiss, it's only for ratings and 'probably done at the last second'.
'a little heads up would've been nice' - sure. i know i would have loved to be able to not have the picture of the train and tell y'all that 'YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO WATCH TODAY, IT'S GONNA BE GOOD!!!!!!!!' but hey- what is slowly turning out to be everyone's favorite VL episode? right - the one of april 16, where olli and christian's appearance was 'not a big deal and natural'.
and even though 'natural' isn't necessarily the term i'd use for yesterday's ATWT kiss, there's no way on earth you can compare these two shows.
within ATWT's universe, yesterday was noah's ultimate affirmation who his loyalty is to. i certainly won't have a happy go lucky attitude about the whole thing now and closely watch PGP and CBS's every step- i'm certainly far from seeing 'good storytelling'. but hey, they've kissed. in the grand scheme of things, that's all we've asked for!

Agree with every word you said ;D Frankly speaking .... there is no need for any tongue .... what for ... these are soaps ... the straight couples don't do it so why the gay couples should

The AFA is just weird... Sometimes I just don't understand people. I'm a christian too and allthough I don't live in the US and our country usually is a lot more tolerant, a lot of people I know aren't pro-gay either. Mostly it's just plain ignorance; they just don't know anyone who has come out to them. Things probably would be very different if they did. I was never 'anti', but I'd just never thought about it until my best friend came out to me. Now I'll defend him (and his boyfriend) and gay people in general everywere and to everyone... What annoys me most about conservative protests from organisations like the AFA is the hypocrisy: it's okay to show people commiting murder, rape, cheat and getting divorced, etc (you don't hear any protest about that anyway) but if two man share a kiss it's like the world ended?? Get real... Let people live their own lives; people really should take a look at their own lives before they start complaining about the choices others make... If everyone would stop judging others and start loving and respecting them instead the world would be a much better place to live in! Ugh! I came across that site before and yuk!! Don't even get me started on how I feel about that/them... Waste of energy... I'm done rambling; sorry... *

I have the same problem you do, though I am Jewish, but the AFA seems totally stuck only on the homosexual couple & ending that to the point of ignoring every actual bad thing on the show. It's so stupid. ETA this "Daytime Confidential" comment:Just saw this post on vanhansis.net: I just found out that P&G has set up a Nuke specific menu option for when you call their headquarters to comment. The telephone number is the same one listed on the AFA's Action Alert. So, they must be getting a lot of calls! We need to call now to show our support for Nuke!!! The number to call is 513-983-1100. When you call, a live operator will answer. Just tell the person that you want to leave a comment on the ATWT Luke and Noah storyline. You will then be forwarded to an automated menu. First, press 2 for the ATWT Luke and Noah storyline. Then, press 1 to have their storyline continue.

That's awesome you sent a bulletin out to all of your subscribers. I voted when I got home. The AFA is beyond ridiculous. ETA: Perez Hilton has also jumper into the fray asking people to support Noah & Luke's storyline --> perezhilton.com/2008-04-29-fight-the-bigots

ATWT's official website has been revamped. I was checking out the photo gallery and they have some photos up from the recent fan event: www.cbs.com/daytime/as_the_world_turns/photos/photos.php?v=6453"Bonnie" and "Sofie" look gorgeous. I can't talk about "Kit". Van and Jake look cute, though Jake looks like he just woke up. Hee.

I just don't understand why Jon Hensley didn't receive a nomination in the Best Lead Actor category. Especially with the year that Holden had with Lily, I thought he would have been an obvious choice.

z13.invisionfree.com/vanhansis/index.php?showtopic=8998Syrus posted Carolyn's rant on the Van Hansis forum. "I don't understand why some fans get SO MAD when their shows don't write exactly what they want. If ALL MY CHILDREN's "Zendall" fans got "Happily Ever After," Zach and Kendall would be on an endless picnic with the kids, and Thorsten Kaye and Alicia Minshew would quit the show because they'd be bored to death. It's Daytime DRAMA, people. Ditto for the "Nuke" fans watching AS THE WORLD TURNS, most of whom I suspect do not regularly watch soaps. If they did, they would know that the longer it takes to tell a love story, the better it is. A good show lets the characters kiss, throws in a ton of obstacles and misunderstandings, and then brings them back together for another kiss during sweeps. But because Luke and Noah are gay, it's a conspiracy. Clint and Nora have yet to have sex on ONE LIFE TO LIVE, even though they are, ahem, mid-life. Is OLTL discriminating against them because of their age? Or just telling a good story? Get back to me when Rex and Gigi even hold hands---that's been eight months. I also wonder about the Nuke outrage at a time when no other show even has a gay character, much less a gay couple. With all this backlash, why would another soap risk it? It's a no-win situation---half the audience is mad that they are telling a gay story, and the other half is mad that it's not going fast enough. No one is saying, "Good job," to AS THE WORLD TURNS, so I guess I'll say it. That's the way you're supposed to tell a good soap story. Make 'em wait! But if those two crazy kids haven't hit the sheets in a year, get back to me."
