Week of 9/29:
"Next week, Noah is back and he and Luke are romantically reunited. There will be a kiss or two (and for those interested in such things, a pic of the smooch will be posted later today). But even more important is that during his time away, Noah came to a decision regarding he and Luke's future. What is that decision... and how does Luke respond?"
Kevin's not a homophobe anymore, just your average college joe. But Kevin's campaign manager is a homophobe and does some dirty politics behind Kevin's back. Luke, assuming Kevin is behind it, plays dirty himself. Unfortunately, Noah isn't down with that. He doesn't like being political or so public about his life. Noah also feels that Luke is doing this because of Kevin and that concerns him. Of course it takes a toll on Luke and Noah's relationship. While election day on the show is the same day as in the real world, the story is going to continue to play out for the next few months. Luke's behavior is going to prove to be self destructive, something that is in Luke's history, and the repercussions will not only affect his story, but spill into other stories as well. The crux of the tale is about Luke maturing into adulthood and all the difficult decisions that come with it.
Luke shares with Noah his intent to run for president of the student government. Casey agrees to help Luke with his campaign, and later while with Alison, has a run in with Kevin's campaign manager Mark, who makes crude homophobic jokes. Alison agrees to spy on Kevin and hears gay-bashing strategy Mark wants to use. Alison goes to report what she overheard...unaware that Kevin adamantly refused to run such a campaign.
Channeling his inner Grimaldi (or Walsh), a determined Luke breaks the rules, stuffs the ballot box and is declared the winner of the election. Unfortunately, Luke quickly discovers there's a price that comes with what he's done and he suffers the consequences for his actions.
It's Election Day and the race for student council president between Kevin and Luke is decided. Unfortunately, someone isn't playing fair... and this time it's not Kevin. When it looks as if Kevin is going to win in a landslide, Luke is furious that after everything that has gone down, Kevin could still win. Noah, again, insists that Luke just let it go and move on, but it's Casey's suggestion that bends Luke's ear. The ex-con comes up with the bright idea to stuff the ballot box. Luke doesn't consider it... at first, then agrees to Casey's plan. Noah tries to convince Luke not to do it, but Luke isn't listening. And while Casey does the dirty work himself, it's with Luke's full knowledge. Later, Luke is declared the 'victor' and celebrates with his friends, except for Noah, who refuses to attend the occasion. But Luke won't be celebrating for very long. Things are going to be bleak very soon for young Mr. Snyder. Thanksgiving may be just around the corner, but Luke won't have very much to be thankful for.......
Luke has to face the music about his actions thanks to Noah, who delivers the fatal blow. As the drama unfolds over Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday's episodes of ATWT, an investigation into the school election is launched. Luke is called in to see the dean.... and so is Noah. Luke pleads with Noah to keep quiet about what he knows, but Noah refuses and doesn't like being put in the position of lying. Moreover, Noah feels Luke is only going to make things worse for himself by continuing the lie. So when Noah is questioned about what happened, he tells the truth and Luke is expelled. Casey tries to fall on the sword and take all the blame, which only results in his explusion as well. Luke blames Noah for what has happened, triggering a number of ugly fights. Things look bad for the couple now, but according to Jake Silbermann (Noah), speaking in Soap Opera Weekly, soon the boys will have something to fight for together.

Details of the Brian/Luke kiss:
ATWT's Brian weds Lucinda but kisses Luke!
Talk about keeping it in the family! Brian weds an ailing Lucinda this week and smooches a drunken Luke hours later.
The Jerry Springer-worthy tale begins at Lucinda's bedside following her mastectomy. She is pleased and surprised to see that Brian has stuck by her. "When she wakes up from the surgery, he's still there at her side, and she has a moment where she realizes that she doesn't want to live alone anymore," explains Laurence Lau (Brian). "Some things are said and then she says, 'Marry me, Brian. Marry me right now.'" Although he is initially hesitant, Brian accepts her proposal after she assures him that she is lucid. "They have this wonderful little moment and she says, 'Let's do it right now, I don't want to wait,' and they get ahold of her friend the judge and he comes to the hospital room," Lau shares. "There's some time to kill before the judge actually arrives, so Brian goes out and he has a prenup drawn up, just so it's all very clear that it's not about Brian wanting her money. He's not a gold digger." The happy pair recites their vows and they are pronounced husband and wife.
The bride falls asleep and Brian heads out to get clothes for her to wear the following day. "On the way, he sees a staggering drunk Luke on the highway," Lau previews. "Brian pulls over, gets him into the car, straps his seat belt on and takes him back to the house to help Luke sober up. So Brian gets him coffee and he's sitting there listening to Luke pour out why he's so miserable, and he is comforting Luke in this moment. He puts his arm around Luke's shoulder, kind of pats him on the back and he lifts up Luke's chin and kisses him gently on the forehead and gently on the cheek, and then gently on the mouth.
"It's just this moment of revelation for Brian as much as it is for Luke. Then there's a moment where they're both sort of into it and Luke says, 'Oh, my God. What are you doing?'"
Now Brian must deal with his new, conflicting emotions. "Neither feeling is dishonest," according to Lau. "His feelings toward Lucinda are real, he wants to be married to Lucinda, he likes being married to Lucinda. He loves her." But he's clearly attracted to men. Luke also has a tough, uncomfortable decision to make. Does he tattle on Brian or forget it happened? "Luke sees how happy Lucinda is and doesn't want to spoil that," Lau muses. "But at the same time, he's gotta be worried that Brian may not be the real deal."

As The World Turns –
Confession is good for the soul … at least for Brian Wheatley. He fesses up to Luke that he did come on to him, but goes on to insist that he is in love with Lucinda (Elizabeth Hubbard) and wants to stay married to her. Luke believes Brian and the two men call a ceasefire with Luke promising to keep the whole thing a secret.
Lucinda starts to clue in that something is up with her new hubby, especially since he keeps finding ways to avoid having sex with her.
Luke’s cousin Jade (Davida Williams) is in town and she’s bringing a mess of trouble with her. Seems that she’s wanted for armed robbery. How will Luke handle it when he comes face to face with his BFF who just happens to be on the run from the law?
The week of the 22nd, Maddie Coleman’s return to Oakdale has Luke seeing red as he is jealous of Noah’s attention to his ex-girlfriend. When Noah realizes why Luke is in such a snit around Maddie (Kelley Barrett), he lets Luke know that he’s not interested in Maddie and that Luke is the one he wants.
Are Oakdale’s sweethearts going to make up just in time for the holidays? We can’t say.
But what we can say is that Noah will give Luke a Christmas present and the tender moment will end in a kiss (no panning away this time).
So Luke and Noah just may have something special to celebrate as the New Year begins … unless Brian ruins everything.
