I still thing this show pays too much attention of what rabid fanbases say. I said it before and i say it again, you cannot ignore your fans but that doesn't mean you have to give them everything they want Especially, a fanbase that is also very vocal about the fact that they don't watch the show any more. But they ARE watching the show. Following the gossip to the point that they followed a guy that was cast as a lookalike version of Brendan Brady. That actor, made a point of tagging his original posts, in which he talks about being cast in a role, that everybody (in his mind would think was hilarious). They may say that they're not watching it, but they know what's coming down the way storyline wise for Ste Hay AND for what Kieron Richardson says in the press about his upcoming storylines. I just feel that Ste being revealed to have had sex with the "Stripper Lookalike Brendan Brady" would have backfired on Ste and not ridicule BB to be honest. At this point, BB is a living saint for some viewers. He's given up his future, to insure that his half-sister has a chance at a "normal and happy life" with her man, all the while keeping secret about killing their father. He's also "staying true" to his abused "love of his life". The man he "took bullets for", while also destroying his life at the same time. BB "sacrificed" his one shot at happiness in letting Ste go. Ste ends up having sex with this random dude, who reminds him of his jailed multiple murderer and abuser lover, basically cheating on his new boyfriend. A boyfriend, that he believes was raped by another man. It's not like Ste would have anything remotely in common with this dude. While, he's supposedly bonded with JP. He just cannot seem to keep his sexual drive in check to not keep it in his pants?! That would put Ste further in a horrible role. On top of all the insane and self-destructive choices that he's made within the past year and a half. Messing up his life, by choosing his abusive and murderous lover over his kids and husband. Ste's life has never been the same after that choice he made. It's been tragedy on top of tragedy for him. That's why the show probably choose to go with the Ste has drunken sex with Sinead. Ste was horrified by what Sinead told him and there's no mutual attraction evident at all. It just facilitates further storylines for Ste, Sinead, Tony, Diane and JP, because there will be a "who's the daddy" storyline in the next 7 months.

So, now Mercedes aka Jen Metcalf is also exiting the show.
Three new McQueens are arriving: the cousins and they all seem to be carbon copies of Carmel, Mercedes and long departed Tina.
Celine is supposedly the spiritual one, just like Carmel.
Porscha is supposedly the quick on her feet, get what I want, but fiercely loyal one, just like Merecedes.
The last new McQueen is still not named, but she's the "smart one", just like Tina. I wonder if she'll also be bi-racial?

It looks like the show cut the "Stripper Brendan" scenes in this week's upcoming episodes. Drat. It's also rumoured that Germa's quit the show. She's Carmel. It's also rumoured that Kirsty-Lee Porter is leaving/not renewing her contract as Leela Lomaxe. So, JP finally tells his family about the rape. I want to see how Finn deals with those women all over his ass. Strange that the cut all the stripper Brendan stuff. I mean, it appeared in soap mags and they interviewed the actor and everything. Wonder why it was cut. I mean I'm glad they did. It was a horrible idea on so many levels. Now it's revealed that Jen Metcalfe is also leaving and the McQueen girls are being replaced by dopplegangers pretty much. Oh, Hollyoaks.... I have the feeling that Jen wanted to leave last year, but with Claire Cooper going and all the other exits, she was asked to stay on another year. She'll be missed.

But I guess it's been enough time for Jen and Germa to want to leave. It's not like they're being kicked out. They both want to leave. It's interesting that the Michaela character was introduced as Amy's friend and then the McQueens were created to build up the JP character back in 2006. Now, 8 long years late JP and Myra will be the last of the original McQueens left on screen.

I'm not totally surprised either that Jen is leaving,I think it was mentioned that she wanted to leave since the Riley storyline where Mercedes had her mental break-down their where rumours that was meant to be her exit. I've a feeling that Kirkwood convinced her to stay on a while longer.
Also, before this new break that, I was about to write on the fact that the two new McQueen and a new guy have been filming for at least a month and we haven't heard nothing about it yet this Brendan look a like who only filmed for a day was all over twitter.

They kept the good spoiler info on the backburner (which is a good thing) and waited until the uproar about the other ridiculous stuff died down. This tumblr page keeps an updated list of current spoilers for the show. hollyoaksoverdose.tumblr.com/I read that JP will reveal the truth about Finn being his rapist at Nancy and Darren's wedding reception.

I wasn't going to post anything as I couldn't get any confirmation but given that a similar list have been posted on DS, but here is a list of rumoured exit. Mercedes, Carmel, Nancy, Esther, Phoebe, George, Dodger and Frankie.*
It should be noted that the names I heard about didn't have Frankie but had Sienna and Finn. Also most people assumed that it was a 'death' list but I was told it was a exit list, that the characters don't necessarily die.

Also most people assumed that it was a 'death' list but I was told it was a exit list, that the characters don't necessarily die. The only name that "shocks" me on the above list is the character of Frankie. Hollyoaks goes through these mass exits every couple of years, but with those exits they have also been able to introduce new characters that end up being embraced fully by the audience. Eventually. In the beginning, there's the usual outrage, anger and comments of "I'll NEVER watch the show again if/when this character exits." Eight months later, that viewer is still watching and now enjoying the new characters. It's a soap. I wish that the Darren character was on that list over Nancy. Darren's behavior the past two years has totally turned me off him. I can never get over him believing Sienna and her BS lies over all the years that he had with Nancy. That was absolute BS to me.

If people are leaving, I hope they don't bring in new people. Or at least too many new people. The show is only a half hour long, doesn't really give enough time to give proper time to all the characters on the show. I would like them get back to the stories and character driven plot lines than all the recent stuff they have had on lately.

I would like them get back to the stories and character driven plot lines than all the recent stuff they have had on lately. That wouldn't be Hollyoaks method of operation. They always have a huge cast turnover every two to four years and bring in new characters to fill up those other spots. Now, with Vincent returning for George, because there is absolutely no other option for both those characters, Hollyoaks and Kirkwood have the opportunity to add (hopefully) new gay, lesbian and maybe a bisexual character(s) to the canvas. Seriously. It will only now be Ste, JP, Blessing and Esther left. When two years ago, they had more than double the amount of gay and lesbian characters.

If Finn's DNA is the one found on John Paul. Does that mean his character is getting sent of to jail or they going to have him get off on some technically?

Carmel decides to leave town with Sonny and Kathleen Angel and not stay to support her brother through the rape trial?

Sometimes I really hate soaps, that doesn't sound like Carmel. But then again this is Hollyoaks.

The more that's revealed regarding Finn and all his denials, along with Diane's fierce support of him, it makes me think that she'll find out the truth and will be the one to bring him down. Either by death or getting him to admit that he did rape JP.
This is Hollyoaks. I really believe that it'll be Diane, who will finally be the one to end Finn's reign of terror in the village.

I know she's his step mother, but perhaps it's that old saying. I brought you into this world, I can take you out.
I have this sudden fear that by unintended cause by her family, Carmel dies in some sort of freak accident. And they thought they were saving her, when in reality they just destroyed her. Which is just sad because I always liked her and wanted her to have some sort of happiness send off. I know this is Hollyoaks, but she's been hurt so badly and she used to be so happy. Now she's just comes across as this sad and bitter woman.

Does anyone think Finn will walk or will he go to jail? Finn is very disliked and John Paul is a long standing character of the show, who has a good number of fans. I mean what can they really do with Finn now that the whole village knows he's a bad guy? I don't really see a redemption arc in his future and he has anger and hurt several characters that have ties to big parts of the community.

Yeah but I didn't think Finn was that good of a baddie (to me at least). He's more small time, I don't really see him being like Claire, or Warren, or Silas.

Agreed - Finn wasn't the usual charismatic and interesting baddie that Hollyoaks typically creates like BB, Walker, Warren, Silas and Browning. He was a pathetic young man that used rape as a form of control and power and is finally paying for his actions. As for your theory about Carmel, I read a spoiler that could make your theory come true. I hope that it doesn't happen, because it'll just prove that relatively good and nice characters are always killed off.

Out of all the McQueen's I was really hoping she would find some happiness in her exit. She's lost her inner spark, well so has John Paul. But he's not leaving any time soon and the actress who plays Carmel is.
I don't think Hollyoaks has any really good villains at the moment. Well I guess there Patrick, but he's a slime ball. I don't know much about Grace, but she doesn't seem that bad. Sienna just super crazy and I guess Cameron is too, since he's killed Danny and Sam. And seems to getting more and more possessive of Leela and Peri.
I wonder since Dodger finds out about Theresa apparently carrying his baby. If he gets custody of the child and wants to raise the baby with Maxime and her child. Or if the McQueen's fight him for custody of the baby.

I think Finn will be back. Keith even hinted his in exit interview that Finn had unfinished business with JP and his family. I wouldn't be shocked if the show was already planning Finn's return.

A familiar face returns and it's not good for Ste. I hope it's Amy.
Ste's drug use gets himself in hot water with Lockie (Cameron's brother), but supposedly JP has to pay.
I wonder if Lockie is a cop?
With Sonny leaving/dying and Danny's wife dead, Hollyoaks will need another copper that's either corrupt, not able to do their job and/or has a conflict of interest due to a personal connection with someone in the village.

Dodger ups and leaves the village, due to the "stress" of being a father to three kids. Whatever. I hope Danny Mac had a nice holiday during that time away from filming. Dodger should have been able to go to Dirk and ask him for advice. Dirk is his father who raised him, along with his two other children, Will and Liberty.
