Someone wrote this in Dutch on a GTST site and I decided to translate it for the non-Dutch folks:
The Story so far: Lucas Sanders (2000-2006)
When Ludo ends up in a wheelchair, his marriage with Janine is in danger. Ludo can’t accept the fact that he’s in a wheelchair and expresses his frustrations towards Janine. Janine can’t handle the tension any longer and after a huge fight she runs away to her room. There she’s comforted by Stefano, Ludo’s son…
Stefano and Janine make love while Ludo tries to get up the stairs to make up for their fight. Janine regrets it immediately. Especially when she discovers she’s pregnant. The first person she tells is her best friend Suzanne Balk. She can’t believe Janine slept with Stefano. Janine decides to stay with Barbara and Jef, because she’s afraid Ludo will find out her unborn child isn’t his.
Barbara and Jef have their hands full with Meike Griffioen at that moment. Meike is the surrogate mother for their son Jonas. Unfortunately Jonas dies soon after birth. Janine – who lives with Barbara at that moment – asks her friend to pretend that not Jonas, but Lucas died. So she can protect him from Ludo. Barbara and Jef agree to help Janine. Barbara and Jef take care of Lucas who will be called Jonas from that moment on.
Janine pretends she’s devastated by the death of her son. In the meantime Meike has developed maternal feelings for ‘Jonas’ and wants the child back from Barbara and Jef. Janine realizes she would never see her son grow up this way and decides to tell the truth: ‘Jonas’ isn’t Meike’s son, but Janine’s.
But Janine isn’t completely honest. She knows that Stefano is the biological father of Lucas, not Ludo. But Janine tells Ludo he’s the father of Lucas and he believes her. It looks like Janine is able to keep her secret, until Stefano finds out he’s the biological father. He tells this to his fiancé Bowien Galema. Things get out of hand when Ludo follows his son and his wife on their honeymoon to Finland. There, things escalate between Ludo and Bowien. When Bowien tells him Stefano is the biological father of Lucas, Ludo gets furious. This causes Bowien to lose her balance. She’s able to hold on to the cliff and asks Ludo to help her. But Ludo doesn’t do anything. Bowien falls off the cliff to her death.
The truth is out and Ludo and Janine split up. Stefano doesn’t have any proof that his father is responsible for his wife’s death, but he wants to have revenge anyway. Janine decides to help him. They hire Cleo de Wolf to drug him. Janine also marries Stefano to get back at Ludo for what he did to Bowien.
In the end Stefano and Janine realize revenge isn’t the solution and they get a divorce. They have shared custody of Lucas whose life is pretty peaceful from that moment on.
Years later Lucas’ life is in danger because of something Isabella Kortenaer did. She wants to take revenge on Ludo and decides to hurt him in his weak spot: his daughter Nina. When Isabella sees Nina, she gives the girl a poisoned lolly pop. At home, Lucas takes the lolly pop from Nina and starts eating it. A little while later Ray (Janine’s boyfriend at the time) sees an unconscious Lucas in the living room. Ray and Janine rush him to the hospital. He recovers quickly.
Lucas likes living in Meerdijk, but hates saying goodbye to his father. Stefano is depressed after his wife Yasmin Fuentes died and decides to move to New York. Not much later Janine has a mid-life crisis and Lucas starts to miss his father more and more. After a visit to New York Lucas asks if he can live with his father.
Janine is devastated because her son is leaving her, but she decides to let him go. Viewers saw Lucas for the last time on January 27, 2006.
In 2008 Lucas’ sister Nina is raped by René Meijer and two of his friends. When the police is forced to let René free due to a lack of evidence, Nina decides to stay with Stefano and Lucas in New York for a while (We see Nina in Stefano and Lucas’ apartment, but they are not seen).
In 2009 Stefano returns to Meerdijk for a little while when his best friend’s wife is dying. Lucas can’t come with him, because he’s busy with school. Lucas stays with a friend. Stefano gives Janine a gift Lucas bought for her on 5th Avenue: a purple scarf.
A while ago I gave info on the different characters related to Lucas and I forgot one:
Sjors Langeveld (played by Inge Schrama)
She was Lucas' babysitter for a while. She's still on the show, so that part of Lucas' past doesn't make a lot of sense now since Lucas was SORAS'd.
Let's be thankful this ain't ATWT or The Bold and the Beautiful. And that Lucas is gay. Otherwise we'd have him jumping into bed with Sjors at the first opportunity. I mean, she was only his babysitter ... unlike Dani who actually believed Craig was her dad once upon a time, or Bridget whose name is a portmonteau of her mother's name and that of the man she was kissing the moment she learnt he wasn't her half-brother.

Yeah, Bas Muijs really should come back as Stefano. It would be interesting to see Stefano deal with a gay son. And there is room in the cast. Vicky Pouw and Nick Sanders left and only Lucas is joining the cast. Bas' show Voetbalvrouwen was canceled so hopefully he wants to come back.

Okay, I'm loving the show this week. Because it's the last week of the season they're giving us hints about the episodes. Yesterday we got two spoilers pics and a page from a script. The first hint today is this:
I recorded the re-run this morning so I could upload the preview:

Watching the show right now (it's commercial break). I think Ferry is doing a great job. I know he was nervous. And Lucas seems like a fun character. I'll start making subtitles right after the episode.
