I love the new spoilers too, especially the one about kyle defending his relationship with fish against oliver's dad. I'm sure it's gonna be an intense scene because I think we will get to know a little more about the infamous college days

Nick and Kyle getting married? That's ridiculous! How long have they known each other? I hope Oliver puts his foot down.

Wha, it's a soap, so Oliver will probably be just in time to stop them... ;D (But you're right aussie, they know each other way too short to get married already! ) It sounds like good fun though!! Love what OLTL is doing so far...

Well, it sounds like it would be very funny to watch and I hope Oliver will stand up and speak his mind to take back his man when it will be Kyle turn ;D

The wedding is a political statement. It's like a kiss in or a sit it, it's a demonstration in support of gay marriage. It is meant to be symbolic. I also think if the weddings are made legal it's not that big of a deal. Weddings can be annulled. Easy breezy.
So I think in that way, it makes a lot of sense that Kyle would be willing to participate.
I REALLY like the idea of having a gay community in a town, not just random gay characters. It is much more realistic and relatable.
I don't think Oliver is ready to be in a relationship with Kyle. I'm in no hurry. I'd love to have them both just become more established Llandview characters with connections and relationships to others and have this underlying "will they or won't they" with Kyle and Fish for a long time (even a year would be fine with me)
As long as both characters get to have social lives and meet new people in the mean time, I'm cool with this.
I hope the wedding doesn't go through but only because I really like the character of Nick and I don't want to see him get trounced all over and I'd LOVE for him to stay on the show long term.
I've posted the full article that talks about it in the spoilers thread.

Oh, yes, I can see the weddings as being a symbolic gesture, but to go through something like this, planning to have it annulled anyway sort of devalues the whole concept of why the gay community wants to be able to get married, if you see what I mean. Personally, Nick doesn't appeal to me, so I'm not keen on his relationship with Kyle. He can stay around, but only in the background, as far as I'm concerned. ;D

I'm not sure that if Kyle and Nick get their marriage annulled (if TPTB have them actually go through with the symbolic ceremony), would cause folks to "devalue" the concept of marriage equality.
Especialy when the straight characters, on the very same show have been married multiple times, to different characters OR the same characters repeatedly.

The point of a political mass wedding is that two consenting adults should be able to get married to each other as long as they are citizens and in their right mind.
It's not body's business WHY they are getting married.
People get married for all kinds of reasons that have nothing to do with love or romance on soaps.
We don't even know if the wedding will be legal but I think the point about gay people having the RIGHT to get married and wanting to be treated equally under the law would still be made.
I think the Oliver and Kyle romance is a long long way off or it should be if OLTL wants to make it believable.
I adore Nick so I don't have a problem with him and Kyle dating or even falling in love at some point (it doesn't mean Kyle and Fish can't get together and though a lot of viewers jumped the gun with the whole KISH thing, it's not exactly like the writers planned to have Kyle and Fish immediately become an item anyway.)
I would love to see a soap that had lots of gay characters that may or may not be involved with each other's daily lives.
I hope Nick really does become a History teacher in the high school and that he stays on the show. Just like the straight characters, he could always be paired with another guy down the line if he and Kyle broke up and Kyle and Oliver got together.
I think Nick is a wonderful actor so I'm happy to have him stick around.

I am 'wait and see' on how the spoilers play out. I have faith in Carlavati and the actors are good so I am not going to bring fire and brimstone about it. I see some of the arguments for people opposed to it, but I am not bothered by what's coming up.

So Nick is going to stay around for long. That's nice. But I bet his heart is going to get broken. Sighxxx. It's totally unexpected to actually have Kyle and Nick getting married.

Eh, since Kyle's not marrying Nick out of love but for political reasons, it's not a big deal to me. It'll make for an interesting couple episodes I guess.

I agree it would make a few good eps, but in the process it should make Oliver and Kyle realize how much they mean to each other cause I know they both still love each other no matter what they say

Wow I can't wait to see Oliver tell Nick that he's still in love with Kyle. I wonder if Nick will ask Kyle to marry him before or after knowing Oliver feelings...

I thought that it was Nick proposing to Kyle but from the new spoilers it seems it will be the other way around, I hope soapzone is wrong.

I guess it was a mistake in the latest spoiler. I find hard to believe, after what we saw in the last episodes that Kyle on his own would propose to Nick.

Yes, I'm pretty sure that it will be Nick proposes. It wouldn't make sense the other way around. Also, do you anything about that spoiler which said something about 'Kyle and Oliver sharing a moment of passion'?? I'm just curious when is that supposed to air ?
