I'm so glad someone else wondered about the watch. I loved the scene for OB and Max, it was very powerful, but I also immediately thought back to McDean. I also thought, if John Paul and Craig had only stayed friends, then that might have been the circumstances where Craig would have given John Paul a watch.
Debbie used to come back for occasions. I'm surprised they didn't even mention her.

Did any of you wonder why they had Frankie somewhat clumsily mention Craig after she found out about John Paul and Kieron, but they didn't mention why Craig wasn't at Steph's wedding? Do you think Max giving OB a watch with an inscription on the back was supposed to remind us of McDean? Watch: YES! - Frankie: well, I would've thought it weirder if she hadn't said anything but also took notice of the fact she said it in such a resigned way, as if she didn't really care about it anymore - same way she mentioned "my son's gay" - I think she doesn't mind so much anymore. (she will when she finds out Craig still want JP I think, at first, but I think she will accept it all if it makes him happy, this time round) - Craig not at the wedding: When the wedding was back on the day before it was to take place Steph said "I don't care who can make it" - I took this to refer to all the family members that might not make it at such short notice. Re: Debbie, maybe the actress couldn't make it this time or her presence would have made Craig's absence all the clearer and Craig's absence is essential to the storyline later on - the priest and JP need to be out and proud and grow closer first before Craig can come back and the triangle can play out. Hopefully his absence WILL be explained at that time, though.

I can't wait for Craig to come back. JP's rebound story with the priest is just boring.

I can't wait for Craig to come back. JP's rebound story with the priest is just boring. This week it has indeed not been as interesting as I thought it would be. But don't worry. It's only about 10 weeks away now...

Part of that is the timing of the reveal. Imagine if everyone had found out about John Paul and Craig, and then suddenly, Jack was killed in a car accident. What happened between John Paul and Craig would have been dramatically overshadowed.
The other part is the lack of ties. Kieron only has a bond with a few people (JP, Niall, Myra). JP has become so isolated that most people in the village don't have any real investment in what he does.
There's also the comments they may want left unsaid because those thoughts will stir up controversy.
In the end this story seems to have mostly been about Myra and how her faith and trust were broken in a way she never imagined. We'll see the beats of the rest of the story play out, and hopefully Kieron will have more of his own stories, but I guess most of this was never about John Paul or Kieron, only about Niall and Myra.
I wonder what Craig's reaction will be when he finds out about Kieron.

Very true. It was never really about Kieron, unfortunately. I still think they missed a huge opportunity in not really addressing the issues of homosexuality and religion, the Popes's rigid standpoint on homosexuality, gay men in the clergy, celibacy,... It was all about Niall breaking up the McQueen family. Eeehhmm. Yes. I wonder too. Some sort of shock, I suppose. Indignation, that JP went on to be someone else's dirty little secret, after he left Craig because he didn't want to be. And I think he'll be sad to see that JP has apparently moved on without blinking twice... Look forward to those episodes!!!

Since John Paul and Craig are restarting, I thought I would bump this thread up and get the conversation started for those interested.
I'm really looking forward to their interactions. I can't wait to see how their dynamic has changed or if it does change with Kieron in the picture. Despite their ups and downs, John Paul and Craig were good friends. I hope that we can see that again. I also hope that Craig has accepted his sexuality and isn't ashamed any more. Not just so John Paul will give him another chance, but because it would be nice to see Craig mature a little.

I just watched the newest clip and, heh.. now see I wasn't supposed to be as invested in the story as I am now.
I was fine with Craig leaving and happy with Kieron etc. but the chemistry between JP and Craig just sizzles. Really, they look very very good together.
Poor Kieron.

I'm really happy that Craig is back. I just love Guy! I think he's amazing. I'm sad to say that I had stopped watching soon after Craig left, I couldn't get into the Kieron storyline, but once I found out Craig was coming home, I am ready! Yes, I'm a fair-weathered Craig/JP fan. And I love that chemistry that JP/C have together. It's not at the Ollian level..but it's so there.

I have to say that episode eclipsed my expectations - it was awesome:D I loved how it was JP who made the first move - offering C some company and as soon as he saw him forgot everything- his drink, his phone, his upset - he just wanted to be with C. I also loved how the colonic irrigation/ priest convo went, LOL - just another demo of their chemistry. It was so good to see that C's year away and travels have really helped him to mature and put life (and Darren)into perspective. He was so no longer ashamed of being with JP, even in front of his family. Made me smile to see that Darren immediately assumed that they were back together the second he saw them. Altogether a wonderful JPC episode!!

If I was in JP's position, I would be torn between two handsome lovers. And maybe, I would sing Mary McGregor's song "TORN BETWEEN TWO LOVERS" while pondering and sulking. Oh well! I think it is totally gay to do that. Well seriously, I can't really decide which is which among two handsome men whom I love and have loved. But in the case of JP, I think he thought the coming of Craig as a sign that he and Kieron are not really meant for each other. (Blame the writers for coming up with this story, if you don't like it!) He could have been torn between two lovers but the appearance of Craig could be a sign of a more serious relationship from a former lover and that what he and Kieron had was just a fling. Though there was seriousness,... I can't really say much more. I am happy that Craig is back but I am... :-[I also feel pity for Kieron. There is a subtle feeling, a mixed emotion though. I've read the spoilers which make me feel a bit sad about the outcome but I still want to watch the other episodes until the end to really see the actors and their deliveries of the storyline.

If I may add, Craig is more confident now with the rugged look and all. I think he has come to terms about his sexuality after having through an exile.( and after having lost his love in the airport)
Craig is... I think Kieron still looks HOT even if he cries.

Craig looks delicious though. He has a boyish face but his stubble makes him look manly.

Though there was seriousness,... I can't really say much more. I disagree plus IMO it is reaching and drawing conclusions that we have no evidence of based on what was onscreen. JP was definitely shaken up seeing Craig again but there was nothing to indicate that specifically seeing Craig made JP think less of his relationship with Kieron. JP was already in conflict when seeing Craig threw him for a loop. JP's confused and conflicted over his upcoming nuptials and now seeing Craig but there is nothing that suggests that actually seeing Craig has automatically made JP think less of his love for or relationship with Kieron. It's obvious JP still has deep, deep feelings for Craig but let's not deux es machina Craig. At this point JP's got a lot on his mind besides Craig's return. He's got more than one fire going on... I love McDean too but let's keep it real about what happened in the clips and not throw stuff in that wasn't actually in the scenes.

I SO love that they are back together because I believe they belong together. But like I said in the other thread, I think it sort of cheapened our big reunion by killing off Kieron like that. He didn't deserve that kind of ending. What the heck were those writers thinking?

The recent clips showed a forceful Guy CRAIG demanding JP of the latter's feelings to the former. Seeing them kiss again is a bliss. But watching Kieron dies is TOTALLY SAD!
I think this thread has more future than JP/Kieron thread.
Actors and characters are different entities. -Bchick

I think this thread has more future than JP/Kieron thread. Hmmmm, that's rather crass all things considered from yesterday's episode. Yes, Kieron is dead and JP & Craig are not but that statement seems rather inflammatory & pretty unnecessary in the grand scheme of things. Moving on... Now I am curious to see how today plays out since the last scene was JP shaking on the couch while the coroner zipped up Kieron's body bag. I want to know how Craig is going to handle this turn of events cause whie he is definitely more mature now than last year, I saw OldCraig more than a few times in yesterday's clips & that's not a good sign. I want to see him put JP's pain and helping him first.

Craig definitely has to learn how to handle desperation better. That’s mainly what I saw in this episode. That desperation over JP might mess up with his head if he’s not careful or unable to control it. That’s why I’ve really been wanting to see him focus on other stuff, like his family…

I was hoping for some better kisses...more like VL's maybe? Not the *mouthandmothsmashedtogether*-kisses... But hey. I still enjoy seeing Craig back.

Craig got a mention in the most recent E4 episode. Steph and Frankie were looking at photos and Jake joined them. They showed several photos of Craig, and Jake joked that he didn't understand how they never realized Craig was gay. One of the photos they showed was of Craig and John Paul. www.youtube.com/watch?v=4r0qY0J8TvsIt's nice that Jake and Frankie have accepted Craig for who he is.
