Spoilers for the next River City episode (highlight to read): Will has some good news - with a lack of evidence, he won't be going on trial, but he is still to face a disciplinary. It means he can still be sacked, so Will's not out of the woods yet. However, Robbie is his usual optimistic self, particularly with Edward finally getting ready to go home.
Of course, Robbie doesn't know the full story and with DCI Donald on Will's back, the pressure is on again - with Robbie about to be brought back to reality… Source: www.digitalspy.com/soaps/s17/river-city/spoilers/a458981/the-pressure-builds-for-will.html#ixzz2LLs0Kwy8

Digitalspy posted the next episode summary (highlight to read): Robbie has taken the full force of Will's rage yet again and wakes up in agony. Will calls in sick for him, but Kelly-Marie is not too happy as she has the day off. Robbie soon appears at work, but when he shouts at Cal for being naughty, Kelly-Marie becomes concerned about his change in character. It's not long before she works out what's been happening and tries to convince Robbie to leave. However, when Will arrives home announcing that they can start the adoption process, Robbie soon realizes all he could lose by leaving.
Meanwhile, Will is reluctantly back on the beat and his big job of the day is to arrest a young shoplifter called Petey. Will's colleague is determined to come down hard on him, but Will convinces all involved to let him off. When they later get a call that the same boy has assaulted his teacher, Will realizes that he has a lot in common with the young boy. Spoilers for the next episode (highlight to read): DCI Donald is dealing with a murder and finds Petey at the scene. It's his mom that is dead and the DCI realizes that Will dealt with him previously. He asks Will for help in talking to Petey and getting him to open up.
When Petey's dad is eventually found, Petey finally reveals that he killed his mom. However, when Will catches up with PC Shaw, she makes him realize that it needs more investigation.
Meanwhile, Robbie is lying low at the Mullens' and makes Molly turn Will away when he comes to talk. It's not long before Robbie comes face-to-face with his husband, though, and Robbie lets rip at him. He tells him it's time he realized he was an abuser and leaves Will shocked with the accusation. As the murder investigation goes on, Will begins to see comparisons with his own life. Source: www.digitalspy.com/soaps/s17/river-city/spoilers/a465851/will-faces-up-to-his-demons.html#ixzz2NzBlNOnP

Now I'm up to date with this show and I must say that I find it kind of awesome. I think that it's one of the best gay domestic abuse story-lines I've ever seen. Writers built it up well, the show has a decent cast and rather high production values. I like the most that writers are not looking for excuses for violence and are doing justice to both characters, not manipulating the audience transparently in one direction. (I've always had a big problem when soaps are doing it.) At this point I can understand them both as human beings. Even side-stories are treated with enough care. At first I had my doubts about this young boy and his mother's death. I was afraid that he is only a roadkill for Will, who had to understand his mistakes, but at the end I liked the way it was solved. Let's hope that writers will not drop the ball and keep me well entertained

I don't think they will, AndreB.
They HAVE been on the mark, in their portrayal of domestic violence on BOTH sides of the situation. Will, really doesn't see what the problem is, between him and Robbie. While, Robbie's totally confused on why the violence continues to escalate and happen, because he continues to have Will profess to love him, want a family and future with him
I still want Robbie to stay away from Robbie and IF he gets the help/therapy that he needs, then maybe, Robbie could go back to him. But, Will doesn't get it. Not at all.
I'm just glad, that we're not going to get some reveal, that poor and deeply misunderstood Will, was sexually abused, by his father's uncle and that's why, he's an abuser.

Even though, the scenes were only 10 minutes long, I must applaud River City, yet again for taking the topic of domestic violence seriously in their portrayal of Will and Robbie trying to move on and away from each other.
I like that they had a few weeks pass from when Will initially left Robbie. It's clear the break is hard for both of them, but it was necessary.
I loved that Robbie had ALL of Will's stuff packed and ready for him to pick up. I was worried, that Robbie would cave into his feelings and love for his husband and take him back, but I was glad that he has support all around him, with his friends.
Will, really needs to find somebody to talk to, because he doesn't have a support system or friends. I think, he's so ashamed and upset with himself, that he hurt Robbie so badly, that he can't make himself seek out help, which will make things worse.
The anger is going to come to up again and who's he going to lash out at during that time?
Another criminal? A total stranger? Himself?

Spoilers for the next episode (highlight to read): Will is assigned to the Dominic Roberts case after Dominic's charge is changed to culpable homicide. Dominic is saying that Petey's mother was a prostitute, so Will is sent to find out from Petey if his dad is lying. Petey is less than pleased to see Will after not keeping in touch with him, and when Will tells him the recent development, Petey is even more traumatised. He wants to see his dad and eventually DCI Donald agrees to it. This leads to worrying consequences - and, for Will, a change in his own outlook.
At the same time, Robbie is back from visiting Hayley and finds his mother in the salon. Kelly-Marie is stunned when she realizes that neither Robbie's mom nor Hayley know about Will's abuse, and she makes sure Robbie tells Sue what's been going on. Sue tries to urge Robbie to tell the police, but Robbie confesses that he still wants Will back. When an emotional Will pays Robbie a visit later that night, Robbie begs him to come back. However, Will's day has made him see things a little clearer.
Meanwhile, DCI Donald is getting little information from Lenny, but his antennae twitch when he realizes that Gareth works for Lenny.
When he is pressurised into putting a search team onto a suspicious property, DCI Donald alerts Lenny to the raid. DCI Donald soon realizes the full extent of Lenny's operation, but is already in too deep. Spoilers for the next episode (highlight to read): Meanwhile, Will is relieved when Petey says that he's keen to tell the truth at trial for his mother's sake. Counsellor Jane's deft guidance makes Will own up to needing help and admit to lashing out at Robbie. When she then brings up Edward, Will jumps to his defense and closes down the session. However, he finds the courage to ring Edward to tell him about counseling, only to be belittled again. Revealing this to Rachel, he is taken aback by her fulsome support of what he's doing.
