I came across this post from Avner Bernheimer, the writer for the show, and if I'm not mistaken, its original publication date in the newspaper was 1998. He writes about Eran Noiman, the man he refers to as 'my husband' and I thought it was an interesting peek into the mind of the guy who's Amir and Harel's "Dad".
"[...] He'll be 30 years old this month and it's insane to me, because when we met and I fell in love with him, he was 20 years old, and now he's almost 30 and I still love him, even though he's a totally different person to who he was back then. And it's practically science fiction to me, that the man I have become loves the man he has become, and that the man he has become loves the man I have become..."

Both are fascinating little pieces, being a lit analysis geek. While the blog entry's theory seems to be stretching it for me (ala "the biggest homophobes are closeted gay men"), it was an interesting take.
The second piece you just posted is adorable, though. Do you by any chance have the full piece?

I'm glad you thought so. Interesting, what you said about the first piece. Isn't it? I wish I did... It was originally published in a newspaper, all I could find was a few quotes, that one being the most interesting and - I felt - unusual. We don't come across that many people (in general, but especially when it comes to same-sex couples) referring to very long term relationships and what might make them work across so many years.

For all those who admired the actor playing Harel's father, Ury... His name is Eli Cohen and besides being a fantastic actor (appearing in some of Israel's most famous movies and also being a part of the TV show Florentine, the first one Avner Bernheimer scripted), he's also a director and a scriptwriter. The 'Til the Wedding's site has a page on him which is sadly the most developed one out there... www.reshet.tv/newsite/programs/drama/ad_hatuna/ad_hatuna_eli_cohen_reshet.aspx

But...but it's not diversity; it's exclusion! ;p
Joking aside, it's always of interest to know how homosexuality is treated in other cultures; I'll comment on this column later, as I'm on my way to face death (Calculus class).

It would have been, but I don't think the show's peeps ever expected anyone outside of Israel to have a look at that page....
I'm looking forward to reading your thoughts and good luck with Calculus. Sounds painful. *hug*

Aussie54, glad you liked 'em! And OMG, you are corrupting me! I was not aware that that's still possible. ( Amber80, I blame you no less, because your comment made me look twice as well...)

You guys are funny. Don't think I would have noticed on my own. I'm certainly looking forward to watching the pool-playing scenes! Thanks, matan4il!

Nothing for, Dorothy. And I don't know whether we'll have actual pool playing scenes or not, those were promotional shots, so...
(bit of a spoiler!!) Then again, I also thought that the pic where Aya is in the bridal gown with the boys is purely promotional, but it's from the clip that I'm working on right now.

Flippa! *lol* XD
That reminds me, to what a degree is BALLS a very obviously naughty thing to say? Because I heard Merlin's Bradley James say something about him releasing the balls (on the national lottery, but of course) without blinking an eye while I died laughing at home...

depends what context- see, I'm sure if John Barrowman said "release the balls" he'd say it with a twinkle in his eye... but yeah, generally it's a bit "naughty" to say ;D

Thank you, I just had to check that I wasn't going crazy and that balls still means what I thought it means. I don't know how he kept his a straight face on. I know I would have never been able to.

Intended for those who get it, to get it and those who are slow, like me, to be very happy you're around to point it out. ;D I was too distracted by the torso's (shallow, so shallow, I know.... ) to even notice anything else until Aussie and Amber's posts made me take another look! ;D And I am so glad it you did! I am the mother of teenage boys.......I cannot say "weiner" , "balls" etc......without hearing a round of snickers, giggling or out right laughter! ;D Your comments make me think this is not "just a phase" they will grow out of! ;D

How much do I love that this whole discussion is a perfect excuse to quote and re-quote that picture? XD Momnoc, if it weren't for people like us, there would have been no way to appreciate deep posts for what they are. We are martyrs for a cause, really. I never grew out of it and I was never a teenage boy. I don't know, though, it might be just me. It could be an entire generation that's growing up with a much more liberated use of language. I'm sure I can't see my mother snickering at her mother, no matter what.
