Have any of you guys ever watched or heard of Dante's Cove? I love that show and I love the relationship between Kevin and Toby. I also love how Adam kept his feelings in for Toby throught all of high school.
What do you guys think?

Awful show, as with mostly every low-budget queer production in the U.S.
I stay from titles released by !here and LOGO like the plague. Heck, even the indie films and series. Vapid and gratuitous, not to mention appalling acting skills.
Very few exceptions here and there, but I've yet to come across a queer series that I haven't found atrocious.

Yes some of the acting skills are not the best. Logo and Here have a few good shows not all of them are the best. I agree with you!

I watch for the pretty and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I mean, The Lairmakes Dante's Cove look like Shakespeare.

Is it because of all the porn stars being cast in speaking roles on the show? Colton Ford The blonde vampire The assistant to the botanist

Does anyone think the fourth season will be good? What will happen? Any ideas?

Seeing that every season was worse then the one before and that in season 3 there wasn't even much gay sex anymore I can only think the worst for season 4. One of the biggest disapointments for me was Thea Gil. I really liked her in QaF, but her acting in Dante's Cove was just as bad as that of every other actor on the show. Great naked bodies and hot sex scenes was the only reason I was watching anyway. The story was lame, the actors were bad, the filming was cheap. And there was no chemistry between Toby and Kevin. But I guess we gays are easy to satisfy.

I like Adam, lookwise, that's why I was watching ;D You can have Adam, but Kevin's mine. :] He's the only reason I watched! babylondancer: Your right, Thea Gil was better in QAF, but the story was a bit sketchy in the last season. What is supposed to happen in season four? Toby and Adam are just magically supposed to get out of the shadows(the mirror) and just say, "We made it. Hooray, celebration." Maybe. I don't know. haha. I guess your right, us gays are easy to please haha.

They are probably practicing so the next time they will do something with a plot they won't look that stiff

Alright, so season four is to come out in early '09.
There are supposed to be more episodes in this season and the main characters are supposed to return to the show.
If you would like more info, I will be glad to find some :]

I discovered Dante's Cove after Shirley wrote up her Whistler adventure in the VL section. I'd never heard of Charlie David, and was pointed in the right direction. ;D I've watched the first two seasons, and liked them, even though the acting's corny, and the plot's crazy. What's not to like about all those hot sexy man-love scenes? ;D But I've just watched the first two episodes of Series 3 and I'm seriously not liking it. Acting is worse!! Is it a different director? I hate any scenes with Ambrosius and Kevin. They make me feel sick. The only reason I liked the series is because of the Kevin/Toby romance, and without that, there's not much holding my interest. I do like Charlie, but I don't like the way the writers are going with his character either (and I prefer his appearance in the first two series as well). I'll probably watch the rest of the series, but unless Series 4 has a radical shake-up, I don't think I'll bother.

I think the half hour eps are more in line with how long the show can hold my attention. AfterElton has made clear that I'm in a very small minority, but I actually prefer The Lair. Yeah, the acting and writing are even worse, but I think The Lair embraces its crapness in a way that Cove can't bring itself to do. The Lair knows it's crap, and is wall-to-wall hot guys and monsters and action to make up for it. Dante's Cove seems to actually think it's thoughtful some of the time, and is always trying to build a mythology and have characters have heartfelt conversations about their relationships and whatnot, when what it needs are killer plants and werewolves. Yeah, the straightboy was hot in that "straightboy you know you can't have but lust after anyway" kind of way. Once he came out, he kind of lost the allure, as such boys often do in RL. Still, I do enjoy it and will probably watch it anyway.
