Can't wait! (I really wished they would air Greek over here. Instead of Gossip Girl or Beverly Hills 90210 )

Yay for the new season! I haven't had a chance to watch tonight's episode yet, but fingers crossed for some great Calvin and Grant stuff. I upped the preview for the next episode, that aired at the end of tonight's episode, to YouTube. It looks like there are scenes from the rest of the season mixed in the preview, as well. Unfortunately, not much Calvin in the preview. Just a brief scene of Calvin and Grant smiling at each other. And I think I caught a glimpse of shirtless Grant in a mass group of running shirtless guys. YouTube Link

I enjoyed the episode. My favorite scenes were the Calvin & Dale moments. I like their rapport. I appreciate that Calvin & Grant are trying for romance and dating instead of just sex. I think Grant is more Calvin's type so I can see dating with him being easier than when he was with Michael. I do, though, believe that dating your roommate is not the best thing in case things don't work out. Guess we'll see... I understood why Rusty was mad with Cappie but when he realized he was wrong and Cappie hadn't pulled a douche move, where was the apology or acknowledgement of his mistake? I love Ashleigh, but her being so invested in who Rebecca kissed at the [glow=red,2,300]End of the World[/glow] party was so plot pointy that it verged on annoying. Usually Greek is better at those types of things. I am not sure what to make of Evan's speech to Cappie. I mean, some of it was on point but then looking at the previews for the rest of the season, it seems like his telling Cappie to basically not try to get back with Casey was full of ulterior motives.

I think roommate dating in college is not as bad as roommate dating in the real world, where you can't put in a transfer request.
OTOH, dating a frat brother can be awkward, since it's impossible to avoid each other in pretty much all of your social interactions, even if one of you moved out of the house.

I enjoyed the episode. I always enjoy it even when it doesn't knock my socks off.
Loved Dale and Calvin so much. Not NEARLY enough Calvin and Grant which is ridiculous and infuriating. Why isn't Calving talking to his supposed BEST FRIEND Rusty about the Grant situation?
Too much Cassie and Cappie. I love Cappie. The actor has chemistry in every scene with whomever he's acting opposite but I'm just over Cassie. I don't care about her, who she dates and whether or not she's happy. I used to so maybe the the show will bring it back some how.
The Rebecca/Fisher situation is just stupid and I agree, plot-pointy.
Ashley has barely gotten to have a lovelife and Rebecca is too beautiful and too smart and has grown as a person too much to have her be the "town ride, back-stabbing, man stealer" (a stereotype that's getting old She's not desperate and there are literally 100s of hot guys in that fraternity and on that campus. GUH!!
Evan is just boring unless he's interacting with Cappie/Calvin AND I don't think he's so clueless to Calvin that he wouldn't notice that something is DEFINITELY going on with him and Grant (even without knowing Grant is gay)
PHEW!

I am not sure but I think the actor who plays Heath left the show. Don't quote me as gospel on that but I thought I read that somewhere.
Now the only gossip I have been able to come across is backstage dating of some of the actors.

Heath graduated at the end of last semester (remember the thing where he wanted to leave a legacy and Rusty helped him). Heath graduated early. It's a shame because I really liked that actor but they never developed Heath and Calvin's relationship beyond hookups really. I hope Zac Lively has more work coming. He's very charming.
I think as the season progresses they will delve more into Grant and Calvin (that's what the producers of the show said that the TCA conference this year. Michael Jensen reported about it on AfterElton.
Hopefully they will follow through because there's supposed to be a lot of "relationship" stuff with Grant and Calvin
Personally I'd be happy to send them holding hands or making out or just cuddling for now. The romance of a relationship is part of what gets people invested in a couple and all the other couples (including Dale long before he broke his vows) get to have a lot of ON SCREEN romance (kissings, hugging, flirting, etc)
Just because Calvin is a guy, doesn't mean he wouldn't want romance and same for Grant.

I liked tonight's episode but the emphasis this week was on the ZBZ gals and Cappie & Dale's friendship. As wrong as Fisher was to kiss Rebecca, drunkenly or not, I enjoy he & Ashleigh so much together that I want her to forgive him. I understood why Rebecca told Ashleigh, I just thought her timing and what she said was selfish and self-absorbed. The scene that had Calvin wishing it would just stop? That was me too. I was cringing during that entire lunch table scene.

Well call me a freak but I think Ashleigh is being way too dramatic about one stupid kiss that Fisher immediately regret. Who cares about a kiss? That's not cheating. He was miserable the second after the kiss happened and is still miserable and she didn't even TRY to discuss it with him even though it is obvious that both he and Rebecca just got stupid at a party. I just don't think it's very mature to get that bent out of shape of a kiss. It makes Ashleigh seem incredibly immature and I just had no sympathy for her which makes me sad because I really like her as a character. She could have slap him or made them both do her house chores or something and just made it clear how much it hurt her but also not act like it was the end of the world. I don't think it's fair that she dissed Casey for wanting to protect her either. Handling it is not just walking in a dumping your boyfriend without even discussing it. Ashleigh just fell apart which is what Casey didn't want her to have to go through. Rebecca was stupid for telling her in the hallway in front of everybody. If she wanted to tell, she could have just had a conversation with Fisher and Ashleigh and Casey in private instead of putting Ashleigh on the spot like that. Guh, none of it worked for me. I've said it before but I just don't like women women are portrayed as weak and overly emotional. It puts me right off. They weren't having an affair. One drunken kiss at a part does not equal cheating and what's worse is I don't even believe that Ashleigh thinks they are cheating, she literally can NEVER TRUST HIM AGAIN because of that kiss. Punish the boy but if you love him, don't just drop him like some delicate flower, make him work for it. GUH! If she forgives Rebecca and doesn't forgive Fisher I am just done with her. Word I was mildly amused by Calvin the wandering Greek chorus soundbite, loved Dale and Cappie, couldn't have cared less about Rust and Jordan)

Well, Ashleigh is young. I guess for her the problem was trust and betrayal, which I understand, but I do think she should have heard Fisher out and then if she didn't buy it, dismiss him. She's weakening, though, judging from the look in the kitchen after the cupcake.
I thought I might strangle Rusty through my TV in this episode.

HEATH! I just saw Heath in a preview for next week. Which means it's still the same semester and he hasn't graduated yet. Greek always messes me up like that. So it's NOT the beginning of the fall semester at Cypress Rhodes?

Not only was there lots of Heath, but Calvin & Grant got screentime and continue to bring the cute. Calvin is awesome at the one-liners. I also enjoyed the running Kate & Leopold gag. ;D I am iffy on Evan and have been since episode 1, though he's less of an asshole this season, but I have to say that I have always liked his relationship with Calvin. I thought putting locks on the doors was a pretty awesome gesture on his part to help Calvin & Grant have some privacy in their room. I still am iffy on the Rusty/Jordan storyline and it's mostly because I don't like how Rusty is written. I don't dislike Jordan, I just don't like how Rusty is written when it's something about or related to her. It brings out his worse traits. CAPPIE'S BUTT. I see Ashleigh is weakening with Fisher but not Rebecca. I am actually ok with that.

I'm enjoying Calvin and Grant, but GOD IT WAS GOOD TO SEE BEAVER AND HEATH BACK IN ACTION. *sigh* Aww... the things that could be if GREEK would allow 2 gay couples on this show. Or at least one drunken mistake on Beaver's part. But I digress...
Can we get a big gay cheer for Evan? YES, he is a tool, YES, he treats his girlfriends like shit, but he's got Calvin's back like no one else. Installing the extra-locks because of a supposed break-in was a nice touch.
