Don't apologise, Nanna, we're so grateful that you're able to post it as quickly as you do. It's funny, because I randomly check YouTube, and when I find that you've posted, there are always over 200 views, and a good many comments already! It's like my connection is always an hour behind the rest of the world.

Thank you Nanna! And welcome back! I hope it was a good vacation!
Re: the clip... on one of the comments on YT, someone mentioned that this story would have no trouble getting coverage over here in the States. In fact, I bet people would be asking them for interviews. Is the lack of interest a Soap tactic or a cultural thing?

re: lala
Gay couples/storylines just aren't as much as a "big thing" in most of Europe anymore as they are in the USA - they've been done quite a lot and are fairly common. No one really "cares" enough for the press to latch onto it like in the USA with Nuke. It's just another soap storyline in many peoples' minds.

Sorry for any confusion :-)

Normally I can understand most of what's happening without the subtitles, but with this episode I was mostly completely lost. Either they were speaking faster than usual, or gaybashing/boxing vocabulary wasn't a part of my German classes in school. Or both. Either way, I'm very grateful for the subtitles, so thank you to the awesome subtitling team. I love Christian when he's in "crusader" mode. He's so righteous, wanting to right every wrong in the world, and I find it both hilarious and touching. Part of what I love so much about this couple is the way they're a couple, facing the world together. Even when they're fighting for his career, the thing he supposedly wants most in the entire world, Christian makes it very clear to Olli that their relationship is more important. No wonder Olli is so much in love, and willing to put up with so much from the outside world. I'd gladly walk through fire to have someone look at me the way Christian looks at Olli.

BTW, you guys cheated out out of the scene where Olivia stands in front of the door of our guys and talks to Judith that she wants Olli to have breakfast with her (Judith tells her Olli is already gone and doesn't want to see her anyway). Olivia then complains that she hates it when Olli is mad at her.

Lola, I totally agree. I thought the whole Olivia story was very interesting. I loved how she insulted Judith about her "extra kilos" (to me she looks perfectly fine, btw.) and how Rebecca got back at Olivia by telling her that she wore even more make-up than "a fifty-year old alley cat". Afterwards Miriam rebuffed her too. During a photo shoot (Olivia as a model and Rebecca as an intern) a most entertaining catfight ensued.
I just don't sub anything that's not important to the Ollian story, but it was very good fun.

I know. I just wanted to state it for the record in case Olivia stars sniffing around Ollian again, so people know that it's not out of the blue

I hope your holiday was fun Nanna! Welcome back!
Christian may have a hard time getting the words "I love you" you out of his mouth, but he doesn't have a hard time telling Olli how much value he puts on their relationship which I just think is so much better.

Like all the episodes of VL, I mean the Ollian story, I really appreciated this one. I'm a romantic person so hearing Christian statements about Olli, how much he cares about him and how he faces a choice between boxing and him, really made me happy. And I love the little naivety (I don't know if it's wrote like that) of Christian who thinks it can resolve quickly his problem with his "sparring partner".
Tough, one thing suprises me, if any sport magazine want to publish their story, why didn't they go see others ? Like gay themed magazine or informations magazines. They probably won't make it in the first page but just a little article, it's a start no ?

I don't find that that surprising. To me it was more surprising that Christian would talk to a magzine at all. It just doesn't seem like his style And it's a difference whether you talk to a "professional" magazine like a sports magazine and more tabloid like one. Plus, Christian seemed to not like the idea of being just "that gay boxer" something that would probably amplified if he talked to the gay press (now, why the gay press isn't knocking on his door anyway is a different question).

Normally he probably wouldn't have. But what happened to Olli and the fact that the threat lingers that it could be repeated, in addition to Christian's already troublesome sense of righteousness probably compels him to do so.
Obviously if this were the real world any gay publications that got wind of this situation would be encamped outside the flatshare looking for an article even without any effort to reach out to them on Christian and Olli's part.
I wonder what happened to all those photos that were shot of them kissing in the ring?

I wasn't thinking to a tabloid and I know that there is a risk for Christian to be associated to the gay boxer only but I thonk that it's already the case with the last phone call he made.
And I agree with you it's surprising that he wants to talk about it cause he didn't seems like the guy who talks about his feeling everytime and with easyness (does that word exist ? ^^). But I think he has to do it, for all the others boxers who are gay or bi, I don't think that Christian is the only one gay guy in box club anyway this is not the topic.
And I also aggre with you Psyonicx, in the real world, gay press, the press, and association would have knock at their door, and maybe this will happen in the show, will see...
There is an other thing who bugs me, what is the state of the case ? Is there gonna be a trial or something like it ? What about Axel ?

See I always would have figured Christian for the type to think that talking to the press rather than trying to resolve your problems is unmanly/is snitching. And only something he would do as a last resort (while I personally would do something like that in a second). When I read about the whole article story I kind of assumed that it would take more convincing to get Christian on board.
As for Axel, I'm sure he'll pop up again eventually.

I was wondering how much of the press reaction was due to Soap Writers as opposed to real life. I know that there are magazines in Britain that would leap on a story like this, but they wouldn't be sporting/boxing magazines. I guess Chris/Olli/Gregor were talking to the wrong people in this case. Also, I don't know about in Germany, but I think there are laws here that forbid the media from commenting on certain aspects of upcoming trials. Considering that Axel's attack has been reported to the police, presumably with the intention of prosecuting, this might make publishing the reporter's story illegal. I'm not clear on the details of the law here, though, so this is just speculation. As for Axel, he's a moronic, homophobic idiot (and I'd dearly love to give him a battering for the harm he's caused) but even he isn't stupid enough to make a reappearance whilst the police are involved in the case. Should that situation change, however, I'm sure he'll make a reapperance.
