Eh, who cares? Let’s look at the pretty. Are there more? I’m not on FB and I currently need some distraction from my current state.

Van is keeping a low profile (or that's what he said on his facebook) but at least we have news from Jake's project every few days.
I know the show wasn't the best, but i miss the actors (and the discussions on the forum)

www.welovesoaps.net/2010/10/jake-silbermann-as-youve-never-seen-him.htmlStuffer, a short film that Silbermann wrote, produced and co-starred in (directed by Nathan Crooker), not only had its World Premiere at the 2010 Royal Flush Festival in Brooklyn, NY, but also took home the "Skullie" Award for Best Short Film. Way to go Jake and crew/actors.... I can't wait to see the film.

Nice! It's good to see his post-ATWT career is off to a good start.

Aw, good for him! Noah’d be proud. Considering the miserable crumbs some of the actors of this show got over the years, it’s nice to see them blossom and be appreciated elsewhere.

That's a good start, i'm very happy for Jake, he puts a lot of himself in this project, he wrote, acted and without him get the money to make the project possible it would be a lot more difficult (at least for that being on ATWT was useful). He was mistreated on ATWT and he deserves some recognition

Good for Jake, he worked hard on that movie. I'm glad for him. Though I don't think he was mistreated on ATWT. He was lucky to have the gig for as long as he did. Besides, without that show, he'd never been able to pay for his movie.

Maybe, but he was one of the most popular actors of the show, and he was reduced to almost nothing during the last six months. In my opinion, both Van and Jake were mistreated by the show, they used them for publicity a lot, but they never were rewarded with a decent screen time (or decent storylines). But at least Van had his moments to shine during the last months. Some of the new characters that nobody cared had a lot more screen time than Jake

I'm glad that Jake's post ATWT career is starting out in a wonderful way. An award for his first film. That's pretty amazing. Some of the new characters that nobody cared had a lot more screen time than Jake Yet, he still was able to have that job (regardless of how little screentime he had) for 3 years. There are a ton of young actors living in NYC, who would have gladly changed places with Jake, if he felt like he was being, in your words, "mistreated". Jake, obviously didn't, because he continued to stay with ATWT during their final 3 years. He was able to parlay that role, into getting his first film made, all with the wonderful and amazing financial support of his fans. That's a wonderful way to get over being so-called "mistreated", IMO.

One thing doesn't change the other. Yes, he get the money thanks to the popularity of Noah, and yes, the show didn't treat him like OLTL treat Scott and Brett, but that doesn't change that ATWT used him and Van for publicity, and their screen time sucked. And in my opinion they mistreat him in the end, in fact they lied saying that he wasn't unavaliable for more screen time because his film when that was completly false. There were a lot of newbies that get more screen time than him.
Of course you can say that he could leave the show (maybe he didn't leave because he didn't find anything better in that period), or that he has a lot to thank to the show (and he did it a lot of times), but the truth is that his character never was developed, he never was the center of a Nuke storyline, Noah didn't have any connection apart from Luke, and his screen time never match (not even by far) his popularity. Maybe mistreated is not the best work, i'm not english and my vocabulary is limited, but i think anyone can catch what i mean

I have never once heard Jake Sibermann say anything about feeling mistreated by the producers of ATWT.
I'm sure he wanted more screentime and fans would have been thrilled but that doesn't mean he doesn't appreciate having that job.
As for fans supporting his film, Kickstarter is a very common way to fund a new project nowadays. If the fans of Jake didn't believe in his talent, I'm sure they wouldn't have donated their money. All actors rely on their past roles to create a fan base of folks who will follow and support their work. That's what actors do, it's what they rely upon, it's why they do promotion for new films and plays, etc. They WANT their fans to support them.
As a fan I do think Jake and Van and many other actors and actresses on ATWT were misused or no used enough. ATWT is notorious for giving too much screen time to characters like NutMeg not enough to characters who are actually popular with audiences.
But I think folks who only watched ATWT for Luke and Noah and their related characters might have a skewed vision of how important they were to the overall show. Yes, Luke and Noah were very popular but so were a lot of the long-running characters.
I love Jake, I think he's very talented and I can't wait to see his film and I feel the same about Van. They were BOTH very lucky to get so much press from their first major screen roles and they will BOTH benefit from the fan base they have gathered from their time on the show.
Whether we as viewers think ATWT mistreated Jake, we actually can't speak for him. Jake wouldn't be the first actor on ATWT to feel horribly mistreated (and be out-spoken about it) but he's never once said anything about that and we shouldn't misrepresent his feelings.
People keep acting like Jake was lucky to keep a job for 3 years. Well ANYONE(particularly a New York Actor) is lucky to have a job PERIOD.
Tthe fact that Jake kept it for 3 years (on a show that LOVES to recast) means he was of some value to the show and it IS a sign of tremendous fan love of Luke and Noah and Van and Jake. That's just common sense.
Jake is very good. Soaps may not be his forte (and I'm cool with that because I've seen oscar-winning actors on soaps and they were NOT good) but I think he has a great career ahead of him. I can't wait to see what he does with it.

He never said he was mistreated, i did. In fact he always said how proud he is of being in the gay storyline of ATWT (he mentioned more than once). And i said maybe mistreated is not the best word, but in my opinion the show wasn't fair with him. Of course is my opinion, but sometimes i felt that the producers wanted him to quit, they never give Noah any development, and he was underused, if he quited they would solve their problem, because they appease the conservatives without making mad the fanbase (nuke never was like Kish, their fanbase was longer, and they coudn't blame the ratings, in Kish case was false, but in Nuke case it would be just unbelievable).
And i agree with HQ75, i don't think a soap is the best way to show his talent, in a show everything is rushed, and there are a lot of good actor who need more rehearsal, an more direction. In my opinion if you are good on a soap, you could do almost everything, because sometimes is almost impossible to look good with such scripts.
His post ATWT career seems to have a good start, i hope is only the begining (and i hope we can hear good news about Van soon too)

Having not really seen anything else beyond some pictures, it definitely looks more promising than what I would have expected. To me it really looks like if it’s as good as it appears, maybe it should have been made into a full-length independent feature film, get it expanded a little bit, add characters and such. Anyway, it seems they may have done good enough work to at least make the people/fans who helped support the making of the movie – among others – proud, which would be already great.
