So, rumors are swirling around that Craig might be/could be heading back for a stint on Hollyoakes. Let's presume just for the sake of this poll that it were a done deal and that the decision is completely in your hands. Who would like JP to choose?

Pre-emptive mod post: This topic tends to lead to wank rather quickly, so please remember to be respectful to those who do not agree with you. Seriously. I have seen other forums have wars on this topic when people's emotions run on high and the mods would rather not see it happen here. Not discouraging anyone from posting their thoughts or opinions, just asking folks to not let it get crazy up in here. Thanks!

Really, really tough choice.... But right now I would go for Kieron I guess. Because it's a more mature relationship and Kieron is treating JP a lot better than Craig ever did.

I believe both men truly love John Paul and JP loves both men. In the end, from what we've been shown on the show, I think Kieron is better for JP cause Kieron has no problems with being gay, it's his profession standing in the way and he does treat JP better than Craig did which I think is partly due to not just his maturity level but his total acceptance of his sexuality. Craig loves JP, but if he still hasn't dealt with being comfortable with that -especially in public- then JP would be a fool to go back to him. All that said, I haven't voted in the poll... I just wanted to share my thoughts.

I haven't voted in this poll - cos, actually, I think neither. I agree that both guys love JP - that's not really in question, but I don't think either one of them does JP any good. Craig loves him - there is no doubt, but he has such difficulty with that and therefore continually puts JP on an emotional rollercoaster ride - I don't think he deserves that. Keiron loves him - there is no doubt, but it puts him into conflict with his own convictions - he has taken a vow of chastity, which he has broken. Does this question his ability to be faithful to either JP or the church. If either one of these guys were to show a full commitment to JP then that would move me further towards making a vote.

Thanks for sharing your thoughs, b-chick. I agree with everything that you posted. I don't think that JP will chose Craig OR Kieron, because I want him to chose himself at the end. He can have a "happy ending" if he makes the choice to be alone.

I have voted for Kieron but honestly... neither of them... In my wildest dream JP doesn't choose anyone, leaves the past behind him, rushes off to the airport, meets there a nice young man, is flying with him away. . . . And than JP appears in the next Epi of VL as the new secret lover of Christian Mann .... (crossing soaps) hhmm, better not, this will lead to another war with Ollian fans.. Don't take me too serious

Kieron. I was a fan of JP/Craig when the storyline was running, but I've been enthralled with JPK in a way that I've not been enthralled with an on-screen relationship since Todd and Karl on Corrie. Long time ago. Craig loves JP and JP undoubtably still has feelings for Craig. But it feel that there's just so much potential in JPK - the fact that JP is willing to do the lies and the secrecy, if only for a little while, to be with Kieron after it hurt him so much with Craig, signifies something deep between time in my opinion. And I still tear up whenever I see the "you mean everything to me" scene. That one gets me every time. I'm a sucker for a tear-jerker

Long time ago. Ditto. The JPK relationship hasn't entralled me like Ollian has, but I can definitely appreciate what TPTB and Bryan Kirkwood have accomplished in showing how JPK actually communicate with each other about their feelings AND their relationship. We don't have to rely solely on signs, eyebrow arches and bunny fights, in order to get (at least I don't), that the couple wants to fight for their relationship. I truly believe that John-Paul and Craig will always have love for each other. I don't think that's going to go away, but I also don't think that either one of those characters need to 'put their lives on hold' because of that love. It would be unhealthy, if they didn't try to move on and I'm glad that the writers, allowed John-Paul to be shown doing JUST THAT with Kieron. I don't (or I choose not to believe) that Kieron was lying or trying to be 'manipulative' towards John-Paul, when he said that to him. He has to mean something, to Kieron, for him to break his vows in such a drastic way. This is just not about sex, lust and/or release for Kieron (or John-Paul).

Well.
For one, it is good that Craig is coming back. Whoever JP eventually chooses, it is a good thing that this part of his history will get some closure. A choice for Kieron without closure with Craig wouldn't be a real, heartfelt choice.
For another: poor JP. It's not a choice I would want to have to make. I think what is crucial here is that, however much Craig put him through, he was the one who left him standing at the airport. He was the one that "gave up on us" "after all that has happened". And if he feels bad for that, and decides to go back to Craig, he will be doing the exact same thing to Kieron. Aw aw aw. Nottt gooddd.
Third. Craig had better figured out who he is and what he wants in Dublin. There would be no point in bringing him back if things stood exactly as they were a year ago. So I am assuming he knows who he is and what he wants (as the spoilers say: JP) - and I would also assume that him coming back all the way to Hollyoaks also means he is prepared and able to give JP what he couldn't give him last time (some serious PDA!!! i am soooo looking forward to that bit!)
It will be a difficult choice - one between a formerly somewhat volatile best friend, soul mate and first love, who broke his heart but seems to have figured himself out and wants to win him back on the one hand, and a mature, loving and loveable man who has given up everything for him. Really. It would tear me apart.
I'm thinking John Paul is going to go for Craig, though. Not because that would be the more realistic thing to do. I'm a stubborn bitch so I would probably stick to last year's decision at the airport & tell him to go take a hike and stick by the ex-priest. But then again, I would have been too stubborn to admit my mistake and not get on that airplane but back on a taxi like JP did, in the first place.
So - always brains first - stubborn me would have been in Dublin trying to work it out all year long.
JP did the impulsive thing last year, and I am guessing he will follow his instincts/heart again, however much grief and trouble this causes. 'Cause for him Craig is worth that (as he said to Hannah)
And so Hannah's words may turn out to be serious foreshadowing: "You can't ruin someone's life because you're still in love with your ex"
My guess is that JP will do exactly that.

Craig's way too volatile, too hot and cold (more like boiling hot and icy cold). I doubt Ireland, for all its peaceful beauty, could have had that much of an effect on him. Steer clear JP. But I suspect the writers won't think that way.

When's the last date for posters to vote for in a weekly poll?

I bet by the middle of July, after the spoilers posted on the front page take place, lots more people will be on board the JP/Kieron train. Then that train will run full force into Sept. Then it will lose steam and maybe even be derailed (I hope not).

I'm entertained that this is the only poll on the internet I have seen that has JPK winning over JPC.
Just an observation...

I had that hope, but it looks like TPTB are definitely going to derail the JPK storyline.
