I agree, he's a total psycho. Am I bad for wanting Todd to put him back into a coma again? Anyhoo, back to my boys Dan and Yok... Just want to say how much I love their relationship. They've formed an incredible bond in such a short time. Yok's trust in Dan is not misplaced, and was proved without a shadow of a doubt the moment they heard the first gunshot. Dan's immediate instinct was to reach out and protect Yok. He drags him to safety using his own body as a shield, checks him over to make sure he's unharmed and then sets about defending their little hiding place - to the bitter end if need be. He even ends up taking a bullet because his overriding concern is to make sure Yok has less chance of being shot by being in front of him as they escape. Maybe Dan's ultimate redemption will come from his selfless actions of being prepared to put his life on the line to save the life of someone else using the skills he learned as a cop. I have a growing fear now that he might die, though I 100% hope I'm wrong. It's just that from a K drama point of view it's the type of poetic justice resolution they tend to go for. 😟

This week Yok showed his true worth in putting aside his own fears and doing what he needed to in order to help save Dan's life. For me, the total trust that has grown between these two is one of the most beautiful things in this series and I'm loving the way they have forged such a deep affinity with one another. Dan especially, has opened himself up to Yok to such an extent that he's been able to reveal his guilt, suffering and vulnerability to him; while Yok, in turn, has shown he's prepared to lay everything on the line for Dan. He may have an impulsive streak but he also has a natural instinct to know when something is intrinsically right in his life, and Dan is it. Considering the short period of time, and the fact that everything is swamped in complex circumstance and emotions, their relationship has become the most solid one in the whole show. Oh, and on a lighter note, Yok's confidence is also off the chart...

We only had one little combined Dan and Yok morsel this week but it was an important one. Yok was once again there at a crucial moment in Dan's life. A quick action to stop Dan succumbing to his remorse and guilt and Sean's bitter enticement to make a catastrophic wrong choice. Yok may have his flaws but he's astute and down to earth and is able to love and accept Dan as he is. He understands that Dan is a good person and nothing will change that because he knows that being a good person doesn't always mean making the right choices or taking the right actions. Yok is able to look at Dan and see a man who is doing his best to be better and make up for his faults and his crime. Yok sees the whole of him; his mistakes and his past and (hopefully) their potential future together which will give them both a reason to love and thrive and be better. Everything he wants is there in Dan. Meanwhile, after I finish being cloying about my ship, I'm able to switch to drool mode and enjoy the view... Hmm? I wonder if now that their boxers are soaking wet, they all have to wander around like that until they dry off? Well, probably not Yok, I expect he'll be wearing a pair of Dan's undies. I'm pretty sure he'll be au fait with them by now.

My heart stopped for a second when that scene came on screen. I was so caught off guard and did not expect to see all 3 of them shirtless and pouring water on themselves.

I do adore Dan and Yok - and it was some of the posts about them that finally decided me towards watching this show after 4-5 episodes had aired. I saw that the lead couple was Gun and Off - I've watched Secret Love Puppy Honey (both seasons), their episode in Our Skyy, Theory of Love and even their short film Love From Outa Space. I like Gun but always found Off, well off-putting. He never seemed as invested in any of the previous roles as Gun was (and Gun is consummate professional with a list of credits that is actually amazing) and and any physical intimacy with Gun was awkward (though I will admit he has slowly improved over the past few years). So, I really wasn't that excited about the show - well, I am amazed at how wrong I was. Off has blown past any and all expectations I had - portraying Sean as a nuanced character, a person who had decided that life was only worth living for revenge who evolves into someone with something to live for. He is hitting all the right notes for showing his evolving feelings for White/faux-Black - the degree of intimacy has been spot on between the two of them. The sheer whiplash when Black is back in the picture has also been extremely well done - Off did a really good job with bewildered shock at 180 degree change in the person that had over a few weeks time become the most important person in his life. [And what a neat way for White to show Black how much Sean meant to him - it probably wouldn't have worked without Black being mid-way through saying his goodbyes to Eugene] I kind of what a scene where Black is confronted with all of his now-paired up friends. It has to be pretty bewildering to see the aftermath of his twin's wrecking ball to the interactions of the old Black with everyone else. To see Sean with White, Yok with Dan, and Gram with Eugene (and what a fake-out that was - I was sure that Gram was silently nursing a serious crush on Black) must feel like a fever dream left over from his coma. Can Gumpa get some loving next? It was quite nice having him shirtless twice in the last episode - a guy that hot shouldn't be alone Also, I guess GMMTV gave the show a very limited budget - the Director gave a pretty long interview about it that the mydramalist commentators have been examining intensely: Courtesy of Pakhe Channel (with English subtitles).

To be honest as soon as I saw that first scene between Yok and Dan at the start of the episode, my heart sank. Not because I didn't like their heartfelt chat; that was actually quite lovely and gave us an insight into their hopes and aspirations together. No, my gloom was because it just reeked of the sort of foreshadowing that sets alarm bells ringing and immediately made me feel nervous that the risk of Dan either being killed during their mission or the show going full tilt for a K drama twist would have him betray the gang because he's been working undercover the whole time, and that's what they did. It could have been worse, I suppose. At least they wrote him into a plight that made his actions seem more tenable, with his own contact betraying him to his superiors; the ramifications of which ultimately resulted in him facing the dilemma between exposing the gang or the ominous threat of his parents receiving a visit that would have left them dead. Rightly or wrongly, he reasoned that making the choice he did was going to be the best chance he had of keeping everyone alive. Yok's crushed heart and the loss of the love, trust and happier life the two of them had been striving towards was a high price to pay, and in the end even the small positives of making that choice evaporated and he ended up having to help Yok escape anyway. He helped all of them escape, quite possibly at the cost of his own life. I may change my mind on how I read things after I've thought it through a bit more but at the moment I'm struggling to find any type of happy ending for Dan. I fear for him now more than ever. If they go for a typical K drama outcome by having a character we're invested in perish, then Dan's the obvious choice. It's looking like he's past the point of no return and he'll probably self-sacrifice to save Yok (or the gang in general) which will be deemed as giving him a form of redemption and a death salved from the heavy burden of guilt that he's been carrying. K drama writers always seem to think that's a reasonable resolution for 'grey' characters, so I'm suspecting that's the way they might go. I sincerely hope I'm wrong though. I want to see Dan introduce Yok to his parents and the two of them make a life together, loving each other, teaching each other, painting pictures and having true peace of mind. <sigh!>
