Well, I was thinking they would reveal Thomas Forrester as the other party in the love triangle - it's been rumoured that the showrunner wanted to do a gay storyline with Thomas a few years back but the actor at the time (a devout Christian) wasn't willing. So when they recently recast the role with an actor who has a gay film coming out later this year, I thought it was a sign that they were finally going to go there with Thomas. I guess it's going to be Thomas's cousin Zende instead. (Fun fact: the actor playing Zende has also done a gay role in the past.)

I wish it was Thomas though. That would showcase a real commitment to LGBT diversity on the show. Thomas has been touted as a leading man for the next generation of Forresters. Zende's a Forrester too, but he grew up offscreen until he reappeared just this summer as an adult, while his parents weren't really significant characters. Thomas's parents, on the other hand, were a supercouple and major characters, and he was born and grew up onscreen.
