Anyone here following this series? This series is based on the famous online Thai BL novel "LOVE SICK : The Chaotic Lives of Blue Shorts Guys" by INDRYTIMES, which follows two high school boys who eventually fall in love after a deal brought them closer together. Phun has a girlfriend (Aim) but his father wants him to date his friend's daughter. Phun's little sister, Pang, is obsessed with boys' love. Phun needs to convince Pang that he has a boyfriend so that she can help talk their father around the idea of dating his friend's daughter. So he asked Noh to become his fake boyfriend in exchange for helping Noh raising fund for his Music Club. Although the major storyline here is about Phun & Noh, the series also deals with eclectic teen's issues such as peer pressure, rich vs poor, rivalry, relationships, gangsterism etc. Episode 1 www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCP3bwe00Gc&feature=youtu.beThis has already been English-sub to Episode 6.

Thanks for the intro. It's always nice to have a new series to follow. I know Thailand is fairly open about its trans population, but I wasn't aware that the authorities allowed same-sex relationships to be portrayed on TV, let alone as the main story. That's a rarity even in the Western world. Good to see some parts of Asia moving forwards on this front, in spite of setbacks in other countries like India, Brunei and Singapore.

Thailand does have many gay themed movies and TV series. The two TV series running now are Hormones 2 and Lovesick. Hormones 2 is pretty open with gay kisses and some bed scenes. Lovesick is still a new series but I expect them to show some kisses but, maybe not bed scenes as the boys in the school are maybe 17 or 18. The two main actors are 17 and 16 years old in real life!

...The two main actors are 17 and 16 years old in real life! I thought they looked pretty young! But then I thought maybe I was just being fooled because lots of Asian celebs (and actors in general) look younger than they really are. I'm enjoying this series SO MUCH! It's so cute and sweet! I read my fair share of BL manga in my younger days and I can totally tell it was based off a BL story lol. It just has that vibe. Kuda Lakorn who's translating the episodes on YouTube was also translating the novel the show is based on, but it looks like the WordPress blog they were posting the chapters to got suspended Also, am I just misreading the signals or does Earn tooootally have a crush on Noh? And Noh is just completely oblivious because of his own problems?

The BL novel itself was a big hit in Thailand.

Kuda Lakorn who's translating the episodes on YouTube was also translating the novel the show is based on, but it looks like the WordPress blog they were posting the chapters to got suspended I also had the same thought (the actors were older but looked young). Stereotype much? LOL. Shame about Kuda Lakorn's blog. I was reading his/her translation of the original novel and found it better than the TV adaptation, in that it gave us a real insight into the boys' mind (or at least Noh). I don't like to criticize the actor playing Noh because he's so young, but he does take me out of the scene sometimes with his inappropriate smiling (then again, that acting technique could win you a Daytime Emmy). Plus, the novel gave all of its time to the boys, unlike the show where they have to battle for screentime with so many subplots. (Although, I must again reiterate my praise for the Thais that they allowed the gay couple to be the focal point of the show.) How is the show doing in ratings? Is a second season guaranteed? Is there a lot of story left from the original novel?

Right now, the Noh-Phun coupling is very popular and the entire cast is getting lots of interviews on TV and other media. So far, the book is spread out over a planned 2-3 seasons.

I have also watched 7 episodes at one go (though I must admit I fast-forwarded quite abit of scenes that don't involve the boys).
Acting is definitely amateurish but then again, it's a teenage love story, so I can't expect too much from the acting aspect. I felt they sort of miscast the actor for Phun, the actor is borderline expressionless. Not sure if Phun is supposed to be like that, but would have preferred a more emotive actor. I am fine with the actor that is cast as Noh, adorable though at times he may get a little exaggerating in his acting. Actually, come to think of it, maybe it's because the acting looks amateurish that make them look believable as teenagers (when you are still "raw" if that makes any sense).
Production wise is not bad, though some of the scenes don't really gel and look quite out of place or are just fillers to clock up the time. The soundtrack sounds good, typical catchy Thai tracks. At first, there are just too many characters for me to know at one shot, but then it's good coz it makes you feel they are in an actual school setting.
Not into the storylines involving Mo or Jeed/Sharp, the characters are just not appealing. I am actually more interested to know what is Earn's involvement in this storyline. It seems like he is secretly pining for Noh. Actually would love that they will explore his storyline more. I am secretly rooting for him, hopefully they will introduce a boyfriend for him too. And I ADORE the Angels gang (especially Chanel), they are just hilarious (not in a demeaning way). Their presence bring more comical effect to the show and it very much need it. I also like Nongnan (Carp), she is funny too. Om seems like a pretty good friend, would have loved to have him be a support figure for Noh.
All in all, will definitely follow closely to the show, love to see how the story develops.

This is a 13+ show, so even though the novel is quite explicit, the TV show is not going to be so :-) This is on Ch 9, a slightly more conservative sister station of the more open Ch 3. Even then, this TV series may be much more open compared to a 13+ series in the US!

All in all, will definitely follow closely to the show, love to see how the story develops. I confess to fast-forwarding too. Just get to the good (gay) stuff already! Heh. I don't know if the actor playing Phun is doing it intentionally or he is just not very seasoned, but I find his portrayal to be in line with the character in the novel. Phun is supposed to be this very inoffensive guy: quiet, polite, helpful, likable, without drawing attention to himself and letting the other party talk about themselves and their problems. At least that's how Noh perceives him (he is the narrator in the novel, which is well worth reading - no extraneous stuff to fast forward!) Later, we see a shift in Phun's personality which (from what I've read so far) doesn't really make sense. Maybe the TV series will do a better job explaining it. I guess then we'll know for sure if the actor was actually delivering a solid performance all this while! I'm okay with the Noh actor being green, (especially since he's 16 - I presume he is the younger one, since they've given him the bike while the Phun actor gets to drive a car for which you typically need to be a year older). I just wish he would take some scenes more seriously and stop grinning inanely. It gives me bad flashbacks. Also, Phun's sister's squealing. It was never cute. Please cut it out. Thanks.

This sounds interesting. Aside from this one and Hormone, are there any other Thai gay tv shows that has been translated/subbed that you guys would recommend?
