Is that the same actor from the first season of "Downton Abbey", who portrayed the aristocrat that had the affair with the Thomas?

I don't think so -- it wasn't listed under his imdb credits.

Difficult Diva, I did a little more digging -- the Downton Abbey wiki has the guy that Thomas had an affair with early on as the Duke of Crowborough, played by Charlie Cox (here is the source: downtonabbey.wikia.com/wiki/Duke_of_Crowborough)
