It's just me, but it turns me off a show, when they use (as they believe is a positive) "normal" to describe fictional gay male characters. The last that I was aware, it's not 1998 and only "Will and Grace" on the channel. This show looks to be a fail from the start as it is.

It's a backhanded way of saying "He's not one of those flaming homosexuals whose lives revolve around Sephora and Lady Gaga concerts"
