For me, it really depends on the characters. If I don't like the characters, I find myself having a difficult time watching any kind of show. What I like about 'Looking' so far, is that the portrayal of the characters seem a lot more real than a lot of other shows you see on tv today. And it's nice that they aren't afraid to show to guys kissing, being intimate or have a one night stand, like Dom's scene in episode 2 (but I guess that's because it's on HBO). But I like a lot of different m/m storylines, but for me it's all about the characters and also their storylines. I liked Will and Sonny on DOOL in the beginning, but now it's just too sweet and there is no drama for that couple - every dramatic thing is about some other characters surrounding them... Thank you for sharing your viewpoint, Nanii. Lest I be stoned to death, but I don't find the male couple in DOOL interesting at all; yet I watch the whole episodes for the straight characters that I like. I don't think a lot of people would disagree with you on that one. And I haven't watched DOOL before Will and Sonny came on the show, so I haven't really had the need to watch the other characters. But I do like 'Looking' so far and I like that for once the focus is on the main gay characters and that they're not just the funny sidekick or the BFF to the main female character. That's really a nice change.

It just occurred to me that this is like an extended (and raunchy) version of the movie "Broken Hearts Club".

I really just love this show a lot.I like the whole naturalistic theme of the show and the slow build so to really get to know who these characters are. It to me seems like a mix of Dramatic and Romantic Comedy but in a TV Show. I have heard people say it's boring but i completely disagree. I find this show very Artistic rather than overtly salacious and it's nothing wrong with that i just wish people would give it a chance because it's a great show. My only gripe though is that the show is not a full hour but 30 minutes and we have 4 episodes left.

Absolutely loved tonight's episode. I love that the episode was especially focused on Patrick and Richie getting to really know each other and kinda why they are the way they are. I just really love this show and can't wait until next week

yeah the 5th episode was pretty fantastic. i was not surprised that it was both written and directed by Andrew Haigh, because it really did remind me, out of all the other episodes, of Weekend. really interested in what is to come. Agustin's reaction to them dating in the preview was kind of discouraging, accusing of Patrick of "slumming it" Episode 6 preview:

It's crazy the parallels with each guy.Patrick is really just starting to live his life. Augustin is stuck as he is in a relationship but is in a single man' mind frame and Dom is kinda starting over again.

I loved last night's episode. I still find it puzzlingly that for a series centered around gay characters, set in an environment that is welcoming towards gay characters and features stories based on these characters lives, there's this growing negative point of view from an audience, who has been desirous of having something, ANYTHING that doesn't project them as "other" and they're wanting that show to be canceled. I will never grasp that sort of mentality.

Augustin is stuck as he is in a relationship but is in a single man' mind frame and Dom is kinda starting over again. I would hope that Patrick calls Agustin out on his hypocritical BS, because if he feels that Paddy's "slumming it" with Richie, then what the hell is Agustin doing with Frank? Agustin has NO job, feels that he's not focused on his art, has so faith in his abilities, is lying to himself AND his boyfriend. Yet, he is fine with questioning Patrick on him finally letting himself pursue a relationship, with a guy that's making him happy? Agustin is turning into one of those friends/people you have in your life, that are only pleased/happy, when they're the center of your life. You cannot try to make any sort of change in your life, because if you did, you wouldn't be able to be there for them. Agustin is always sitting in judgement about Patrick's choices in his life. ETA: Yes. Patrick will let Agustin get into his head. Which is such a damn shame. Another positive review of last night's episode: www.tv-recaps-reviews.com/2014/02/looking-s1-e5-looking-for-the-future.html?m=1

But knowing Patrick, he'll let Agustin get into his head and end up ruining things with Richie.

Enjoy the last episode, was completely surprised that they focus only on Patrick and Richie's date but it was good to see these character open up to eachother.
Based on the preview I to think that Patrick might sabotage his newly developing relationship. Maybe that is why they choose to have this episode on Patrick and Richie so that the audience could see the full potential of the relationship before it all falls apart.
I wonder if something will happen with Patrick and his boss Kevin. I could see Patrick blowing up the relationship he have for something without any future.

Ugh I really like Patrick and Richie, I think they work well together and balance each other out. I think with Richie, Patrick is less tightly wound. And Richie is so warm, easy going, and sweet. But also strong, confident, and defends himself. Which I really like too. And on a shallow note, he's really good looking. I really hate that Agustin would say such things about their relationship when he knows how Patrick would react. Over think everything and self destruct a really great relationship in it's infancy.
Agustin really shouldn't be giving relationship advice out to anyone. Considering he's has a boyfriend who's he just move in with. But I don't think he's very committed to that idea. And perhaps more in love with the romantic notion than They're having threesomes that I don't think Frank is as interest in. He seems to want the single exciting city life more than spending time with his boyfriend. And he's getting all fanboy over the hooker who barely remembers him. Agustin needs to take a hard look at himself before he goes tampering around with someone else.
