I liked the pilot episode and from what I saw, the friendships between the main three characters came across as authentic and real.
I also loved that this is exactly how San Francisco looks like, especially the different parts of the city and their residents. The layer of fog in the morning.

Looks not bad for the pilot. They got the really cute guys as the extras in the shows. Can't wait to see how the story unfolds.

I would be glad to post this show so that everyone can have the chance to view it, although I know we're not supposed to post full episodes (there would be no good way to trim the show down). How should I do this to stay within the forum rules?
Pilot's great! I loved Weekend and can see Andrew Haigh's influence all over the show.

Try this, it's also on Vimeo: tw-31988.livejournal.com/190223.htmlThe pilot was really good. The concept of exploring gay life now that homosexuality is accepted/normal is pretty interesting! This link is probably not okay - The link I posted was from the copyright holder's channel. Some shows do post the first episode of a season online as a way to draw in more people -- Showtime does that with Shameless and I remember NBC did that with Smash. Eli uploaded the full episode -- probably without permission. We probably need a board moderator to okay this one.

If we could decide who we loved, it would be much simpler, but less magical.

I'm not big on guys with mustaches or much facial hair. But I think the characters Dom and Agustin pull them off.
Patrick was a bit uptight, hopefully he will get a bit better. I think Richie is cute and sweet, I think he could be good for Patrick.
I wonder if Frank wants to be more couply than Agustin does. And he's not exactly happy that his boyfriend wants to keep his options open. Especially if they are suppose to be moving into together. I'm all for making up your own rules as a couple. Just as long as you both agree on those rules and your honest with each other.

That Slate editorial seems to think that it's a bad thing that Patrick, Dom and Agustin aren't "outrageous enough" for certain gay and straight viewers to find interesting enough to continue to watch the series. He basically said the same thing as the Esquire reviewer. I'm not sure if he was put to task as that Esquire guy was this past week. I just find it interesting that this show and the one pilot we've seen has caused a little bit of chaos. It's either not enough sex, too much of a stereotype about the sex (one scene of a failed "in the woods" handjob and a couple engaging in a three way), not enough wit (we couldn't tell which one is Samantha, Charlotte, Carrie or Miranda) or too depressing aka way to normal in showing that existing as a man, who also happens to be gay isn't always some technicolor fantasy land. I'm glad that Looking isn't so easy to be categorized and should have the chance to establish its own identity.

I liked the pilot episode. The relationship between the characters seemed authentic and the characters are relatable I think a lot of the fall come from the fact that a lot of the early reviews were describing the show as the 'gay girls' or the 'gay sex in the city' and it is not.
Although, I like the three main characters so far I also find the other character interesting also. Looking forward to episode two.

I had posted a response to Bartlett's interview on TBL. I'm so happy that his career has continued to grow after Guiding Light's cancelation. Loving the awkward flirting/nerves Paddy and cute barber guy are displaying in the preview clip of tonight's second episode. Paddy probably thinks that the guy isn't sexually attracted to him.

Hehehe.spoiler discussion in white.... If folks were looking for QAF in Looking, the casting agents and writers were on point in getting somebody younger than Dom for him to hook up with on the show. Those two together look similar to Brian and Justin. Hilarious.
