I know it's been over two months since the amazing wrapup film aired on HBO, but I finally remembered my username, so I wanted to share my thoughts.
I absolutely loved what Haigh, Lannan, their team of writers, cinematographers and the fine group of actors accomplished in the film.
Patrick needed to get away, in order to get himself right and somewhat at peace with himself and how he wanted his life to be. He will always have Dom, Agustin and even Doris in his life, whether he is living in SF, Denver, Austin or wherever he goes in his future. Hopefully, he'll still be with Richie. The one that he always wanted.
The scene of Richie coming back to the club and you see his image reflected in the mirrors?! Loved it...
The coffeeshop scene between Patrick and Kevin was also very good, because that conversation should have happened way before Kevin had asked Patrick to move in with him. Patrick was never really fully invested in Kevin and I'm glad that it was talked about. They never wanted to be friends and they will never be friends. Kevin was looking for someone else to have fun with, while his boyfriend was living in another state (before he moved to SF) and Patrick needed someone to make him feel wanted. When he told Kevin that he wanted to be in love with him, told me that he was never really in love with him in the first place.
Patrick did more to try and keep Richie in his life, to the point that he said he would "settle for friendship", if that was all that Richie could give to him. He even tried to be on his best behavior when he was around Brady, because he thought that Brady made Richie happy.
Kevin, Kevin, Kevin - He's still one messed up and hot looking dude, who's still going to find himself looking for more outside of his relationship. He went back to his ex, the man that he was glad he cheated on and now since Jon has agreed to the occasional one-offs, he thinks that he'll be happy. Kevin has settled and "Poor Jon" is right.
I'm glad that Dom and Doris are still trying to figure out how to share their separated lives with each other. It's a good thing, because Doris probably thought that she would never have a relationship outside of her friendship with Dom and vice versa. I think Dom is happy with how his life is at the moment, but maybe he will find someone else, who will be able to share themselves with him.
I do think that the marriage, friendship and love between Agustin and Eddie will survive.
So excited to get the Looking book and complete series dvds.
