Aaaaaaa....I want Henry and James back together, they clearly still love and care for each other. Henry's accident can be a game changer, helps James realize how much he loves Henry =(

I think it's so forced Harry being interested in Henry. I get why Henry kissed Harry, the poor fella was lacking male contact since James took off, but for Harry makes no sense.

Honestly, with all the stuff that went down with James I kinda think Henry deserves a shot with someone else.

Can't believe it's officially over. Been following this great drama since season 1. Kinda sad to know Elizabeth died only 3 years later though considering all her health issues in previous seasons I'm not too surprised.

Finally watched the end. I cried when they showed Henry and Harry married in 2018. You usually see a lot of tragic ending with TV gay couples and to see a gay couple from the 1950s to stay together and last until they have equality under the eyes of the law is just so touching. They had to wait decades until homosexuality was just decriminalized. And they survived to be married, something they never thought would ever be possible.

Been catching up on this amazing show via UKTV player and Amazon Prime. Such a beautiful show - kinda sad it’s over! Spoilers ahead - just in case anyone hasn’t seen all episodes.
When I used to watch the clips, I felt so sorry for James and all he had to go through - esp in season 2 but I could never really warm to him and the later series which I hadn't seen before made me realise why. He is just so incredibly selfish! I understand that a man at that time in his situation would be expected to marry but he marries Olivia because she reminds him of her brother with no regard to how hurtful this would be to hear. He pretty much drops all contact with his son for William & the Rivera. If it wasn’t for Olivia choosing to visit them herself or James’s business in Australia, it seems like James wouldn’t bother to see his son at all. And don’t get me started on how he treated Harry. Perhaps I am showing my ignorance here (happy to be educated) but I was surprised to see that he died from AIDS. Presumably he stayed with William after all the fuss he made to be with him so unless one of them strayed or they had more of an open relationship I’m not sure how he would have contracted the virus. I suppose there is always blood donations as well. I guess we’ll never know.
I never really had much of an opinion on Harry until the later series. To begin with it seemed like he was more there to move forward James’s story and not really a character in himself. But as the years went on I really started to like him. His character seemed to get more of a focus and it turned out that he was a throughly decent man but no pushover. One of my favourite scenes is in series 6 when he is arguing with Henry about their class situations and how he has read Darwin. It showed a man who was more concerned about who you are as a person rather than where you stand in the Social hierarchy.
I went through a bit of a rollercoaster with Henry. I liked him when he first appeared and started dating James. When he moved to Inverness I thought he was a bit of a dick and wished that they would write him out. I started to like him more when James broke up with him in a letter (another selfish thing I forgot to mention above) and we got to see him interact more with Anna etc. His saving grace for me came after he had his accident. It showed how much being a surgeon meant to him. That story about his mother was heartbreaking.
The relationship between Henry and Harry is just adorable! They are a much better couple than Henry & James ever were. They compliment each other so well. I was so glad to see that they stayed together all those years and eventually got married. Disgusting that it took until January 2018 for them to legally marry!
