I will start off with EEEEEWWWWW to Jenny & Max. Agree. I don't see any sense in that story. Jenny - of course, she seems to have no ethic at all, tried to kill Diana, got Julian to marry her pretending to be pregnant and so on. She just thinks she must get everything she wants. I don't buy the passion from Maximilian. With Lena, ok, there is chemistry, but with Jenny not at all. So, the main purpose of the story seems to be that Simone and Richard get divorced. AND, of course, Jenny gets engaged to Axel once again What do you think about Nadja/Marian/Nina? Certainly the whole thing would be quite different if only Regine, the foprmer actress who played Nadja, were still here... No one seems to like the new Nadja. Juli/Oliver is not that exciting. I like Juli as a character, but I'm not sure what to think of the two of them.

She's coming back, right? I haven't been following the story as much as I should have but Nina wants Marian now, has been trying to seduce him for a while and basically indirectly helped Nadja lose the baby, right? I am trying to remember but did Marian actually fall for Nina's seduction routine for a while and then snapped out of it? I like Juli/Oliver but that storyline is DOA. It's always not fun to see two actors with decent chemistry in a crap storyline. It really neuters enjoyment of them.

Oliver/Juli make baby Jesus cry. Both seem like really sweet people. I like what I have seen of Juli and he seems both nice and hot, but the moment scenes of their storyline start I feel like falling into an instant coma.
VL's Lydia and Sebastian have a similar effect on me, but even they are slightly more entertaining.
Plus, age and power difference stories can be told in an acceptable way on soaps. But the way they are writing Juli/Oliver just seems suuuuuper immature, it's just squicky.
Other than that, I have to say the least agreeable storyline for me is Nina/Marian. Even Max/Jenny is preferable to that (it helps that I like neither Max nor Jenny, so it doesn't bother me if they do amoral stuff; but Marian... I expected better of him).
Do Max and Lena have any history? I have such a frikking hard time telling the young blond women on AWZ apart. It took me ages to realize that Jenny and Nina were different people and I have no idea who Lena is again.

As far as I can remember (it's been a while since I watched ; at the moment I keep up with AWZ by reading the spoilers ;D) Lena cheated on Ingo with Max, so they do have a history. And I hope that I'm right, but isn't Lena Annette's sister?

Can somebody explain the whole deal with Diana to me? I gather she was the lead character and then maybe the actress left the show and they mostly show her just in mini scenes to keep the story alive? Or is the actress on a sabbatical of some sort? Or do they do that frequently when a character is "on tour"?

Tanja Szewczenko performs at "Holiday on Ice", so she has not much time for AWZ right now. As far as the spoilers go there will be some kind of competition ´Diana/Juli in the future.

But she is expected to come back eventually full time? Will she have a full storyline then or is she expected to stay in the background?

What is wrong with Marian? Ugh!
I so enjoyed Simone ripping Max a new asshole.

I was on the RTL website and they have up: Endlich: Oliver und Juli küssen sich!Juli glaubt, Oliver durch ihre tolpatschige Art vergrault zu haben. Doch dann taucht Oliver überraschend bei den Steinkamps auf. Der Beginn eines wundervollen Abends!
And I was like really? FINALLY? I mean, were there a lot of people sitting around watching this storyline with bated breath? Honestly, Oliver and Juli are cute and have some chemistry but dude does this storyline bite. Totally uninteresting.

FOUL! I just saw the clip on the RTL site of Marian rushing in to kiss Nina. Just... NO.

Eeeeeeewwwwwwww, Marian kissing Nina is probably the grossest thing I have ever seen on a soap (and I have seen a lot of skeevy soap storylines).
And Nina seems to be preparing to take over Roman's position as the resident bunny boiler.

Ugh! I've never liked Nina so her calling rape on Marian for rejecting her? New low even for her.

She did? Ewwwww, I hate storylines like that.
May I ask, is Nina Nadja's daughter? I'm a bit confused with the situation.

Nina is Diana's half-sister. Her parents divorced, her mother, Jutta. lives near Hamburg now and her father, Dieter, in Eisenhüttenstadt (somewhere in the east of Germany, I think). Since Nina is only 17, Dieter would not allow her to stay in Essen alone; Nadja offered then to move in with her. They were friends at that time

Who else thinks that RTL is going to bring a brother or half-brother for Nina to fall in love with since this show seems to dabble in incest?
Also when is real Nadja coming back? I don't think the fill-in is a bad actress but she is totally wrong for the part of Nadja.
Gah, why do we get this Nina crap when they could put on DeRo, even if it means a little bit of DeVa too?

Is there any explanation as to why Nina is such a crazyperson?

Is there any explanation as to why Nina is such a crazyperson? I think AWZ is going with "young & stupid" with a bit of "selfish idealist dreams" mixed in to explain her actions. I mean, after all, Nina just wants to be loved so it's ok if she screws over Nadja in the process, right?

I just really, really, really loathe storylines like that. To me, accusing a man of rape unfairly, it pretty much the most horrible thing a woman can do. Not because of what it does to the man (personally, I don't really care all that much) but because it ruins it for all the women who actually were raped and who know have to face suspicion in what is likely going to be the most horrible time in their life.
So I loathe it when soaps just casually throw it in as a storyline. (awz isn't the only one, VL did something slightly similar with Lisa just recently when she implied that Fabian had taken advantage of her when it was closer to the other way around) I just find it really sickening to watch.
It's like, I dunno, doing a storyline about a black man raping a white woman. It's not that that can never happen, it's just that the implication, negative real life effects and hate inspired by it are complete disproportionate and so I can never quite shake the feeling that it's really irresponsible to portray it in the first place and particularly portray it casually.

Crying rape as revenge is such an outdated storyline choice. It's not entertaining and it TOTALLY cheapens the horrors of real rapes. I think it's a bad decision, and certainly not the first one on AWZ nor the last one, but it's totally in character for Nina to pull something like this. I won't be watching this storyline, though. I'd rather watch Jenny & Max, which is saying something considering their chemistry-free incestuous relationship just about gives me hives.

You might consider watching #416 (30th April) anyway. No Deniz, no Vanessa, but quite a lot scenes with Roman including one in the shower. Check my blog for some screenshots.

I watched some of the episodes that were listed as "classic" on rtl-now (mostly Diana centered). I have to admit, I kinda find Julian (the guy Diana and Jenny were fighting over) just freakishly unattractive. Also, is it just me or does the guy on this magazine cover look a lot live Dr. Oliver? I also think I like Maximilian much more now that he is focusing his slimy manipulations on Juli (it helps that I don't really care about Juli and it's still more interesting to watch than Jenny or whatshername (Lena?).
