They have nearly $17,600 in pledges. They are now trying to get to $20,000.

Latest update from the Eastsiders channel:
They are at ~21000 and now have set goals of 25,000 (they'll produce a comic book) and if they make it to 30,000, then they will have enough to do a holiday episode as a bridge to a possible season 2!
Oh and they have posted a few other update videos with meet the producers etc. I've just been to lazy to post them here.

I'm kind of shocked this show is getting so little discussion. It's so good and so gay. Strange... Have to do with the geo-block. Not everyone can watch it.

Yeah but plenty of shows are Geo-Blocked outside of the US. Degrassi was. That doesn't stop folks in the US from watching. It's just weird that folks put so much effort into watching shows with on or two gay characters and spend all their time complaining about the gay characters not being leads but then when gay folks make gay web series (there have been some really amazing ones in this past year til now) Hunting Season, In Between Men, Gossip Boy, Old Dogs & New Tricks, DTLA, The Outs and now Eastsiders and Conversations with My Ex You barely hear a peep on The Gays of Daytime. or the gay blogs. Just makes me sad. I guess folks must prefer the soap format or maybe the shows are "too" gay? No clue... The times when you don't have to complain about the lack of sexual intimacy, lack of screen time or lack of focus and folks hardly notice these shows. Obviously folks like what they like, it's just so strange to me that these threads of all gay or mostly gay series wouldn't be blowing up all over TGODT

Well, the show was promoted at least in AE and Towleroad, but frankly, the geoblocking is a big turn off. Some people who are not in the USA contributed to the success of the kickstarter campaign and now they can't even watch the show. And yes, Degrassi is geoblocked but Riley storyline was posted on youtube, so all people who wanted could follow the storyline (and Degrassi is aired in a lot of countries). The show is great, had great reviews, people love it, and even has the audacity to cast gay actors for gay roles (yes i know, i know, the sexual orientation of the actor it doesn't matter, but after a good bunch of experiences with actors getting famous thanks to a gay character showing all kinds of gay panic in interviews it's good to see a full cast without that problem). I don't know if it's working on Logo, but if the geoblocking stops (or they put the videos on youtube after being aired on Logo) i'm pretty sure it will be a lot more discussion on this thread Anyway, Van's interview with the Backlot www.thebacklot.com/van-hansis-on-eastsiders-as-the-world-turns-and-relishing-a-long-relationship/05/2013/

I'm one of those who is geo-blocked... I watched the first couple of episodes and I think it's a great series. It's nice that some people in the US enjoy Eastsiders and I would love to discuss it with you if it were made possible.
