Yeah I don't understand why they keep going to that well, and in rapid succession too: 5 dead kids in 5 years. The boys in Ferndale must have a much lower life expectancy. (We haven't included the other kids like Sass's stepson Jasper, or Joe the baby who was swapped with Knox Mullens, etc.) That's a good point. And this happening at a memorial for Logan's dead father (wish it had been Stevie Lee instead...) says it all on the morbid nature of the current show. And the second child to drown in just a few years. I guess they are gloomy over their potential fate, and this is the end result. I see that Logan has left - has he actually left or is this just a break? I assume a break, but Monique's reactions felt a bit like an actor saying goodbye. Oh based on Carlos Muller's Instagram he HAS left. Another loss of a decent actor in the younger cast. I wonder what they will do with the loft set. Is anyone else living there now? At least they didn't have him get back together with Dawn. It seems like a permanent exit, but I agree it is a loss for the show. I really think they could've done something with his character if they'd made him LGBTQ+. He had the kind of puppy-dog innocence that would've worked well with a later discovery of bisexuality. Especially opposite Vili - he could've bottled up his same-sex desires due to his childhood abuse. But what do I know? The show has basically wiped out that entire generation of teens/early twenties. It's only Sage and Cassie left (somehow she seems to be hanging on despite supposedly moving to her mother's) and the other younger characters are all preteens or those who are close to/over 30. I guess they've given up on appealing to the coveted 18-25 demographic. Aren't Chris and Vili still at the loft? At least with the introduction of Emmett's daughter and granddaughter, they don't seem to be making him bi for Sage. Thank God for small blessings!

I agree they could have made him queer - it could have been a refreshing storyline rather than him spending months pining after Dawn. Maybe have his mother set him up with a "bro" to distract him from Dawn after she left only for Logan to fall for him. I guess now Phil and Ihaia and Monique are meant to be a younger character group, but it doesn't feel that way. I just hope someone new comes in who isn't as depressing as a lot of the rest of the show. I forgot Chris and Vili were there. I thought they might just be short term but unless they move into that empty house Harry owned that looks just like Maeve/Nicole's and Esther/Marty's but giving them the loft makes sense. (the idea of Chris living in that room for the rest of the show is morbidly fascinating as well)

(the idea of Chris living in that room for the rest of the show is morbidly fascinating as well) I really wonder what romantic interest they have planned for Sage, if any at all - the gays on this show have often had much longer gaps between love interests than the straights. I remember when other characters had cycled through 2-3 romances in the time it took Jack to get a new one. Monique feels like she is 30+ (I had to look it up and the actress only just turned 30 last December). I guess Phil and Ihaia are in their mid-to-late 20s but they also feel closer to Vili/Madonna's age group than Sage. It doesn't help that both have been given alternate romantic interests who are over 30 (Monique and Vili). I can see the loft set being retired and Vili/Chris being moved into another staff accommodation. Other than the obvious (budget cuts), there was no in-story reason to lose Chris's penthouse - surely it would be easier to mope around if he was living alone than in a shared flat? Have they said where Selina is living now that Chris told her to leave the penthouse while he puts it up for sale? Is Madonna sleeping on Nicole and Maeve's couch? I assumed the staff housing had about 3 bedrooms (the downstairs looks so small that even that is a stretch - when Esther was raped by Louis's dad they showed us an upstairs bedroom and it looked wider than the living room, so I can't imagine how they fit in two more rooms plus a bathroom). There's already Nicole/Maeve, Pele, Cassie/Knox so 3 bedrooms occupied. Or has Pele been shipped off with Leanne and Roz? (I really despair that they were able to reunite that lesbian couple offscreen but Jack's happy ending is becoming Dawn's celibate, live-in manny.)

If we were hoping for Nazar to be Sage's boyfriend - perish the thought. It looks like he'll be Monique's next man.
I thought Sage was getting a story this week - it was suggested his best friend had died while Sage was driving. Instead it turned out to be a comedy story where Sage backed up over his pet dog while learning to drive. Maybe Shorty are afraid that showing a gay romance will lose them their remaining viewers.
