Difficult Diva -- I agree completely. I'm going to keep watching in the hope that we see Tariq empowered -- in my opinion he shouldn't go back to Kal regardless of whatever Kal does to try to redeem himself. I felt the same way about Brenden from Hollyoaks, and I am on the fence about Will from River City (there is no excuse for any of their behavior).

I felt the same way about Brenden from Hollyoaks, and I am on the fence about Will from River City (there is no excuse for any of their behavior). I just find it weird, because I've seen so many excuses and reasonings being used to explain away the behavior when it's dealing with male same sex fictional couple. Yet, another Brit soap, has a storyline featuring domestic abuse, but this time the abuser is a pregnant woman abusing her husband. The reactions are "he should 'man up' and fight back". I'm just saddened by it all, because of the viewpoint that "it's a soap", so I completely expect Tariq to take Kal back and have people cream themselves over it. .

Supergoodtv101 reported on his channel that Andra Fuller had said on his twitter feed that he plans on being back for season 3 if the show is renewed.

It seems to be a most unfortunate coincidence.

Intriguing and all as Kal's story is, it's not working for me without being able to see Tariq's parallel development.
I liked Tariq. I miss his character. More importantly I don't like the assumption that his story is not interesting for viewers. He just got battered half to death by a guy he was developing feelings for. How the hell do you come back from that? I want to see how he's doing.

If we could decide who we loved, it would be much simpler, but less magical.

And he's gone through something so life changing that his side of the story should be shown too.

Blip about the next episode courtesy of afterelton.com (highlight to read): The L.A. Complex (CW) 8:00 PM ET As the CW moves The L.A. Complex to Monday nights, the series makes what sounds like a too-late attempt to become a part of our slash madnewss tourney as Connor schemes to "keep his makeshift family intact." That means trying to find a way to keep spending time with his fake/not-fake girlfriend's husband, right? I hope that's what it means. Meanwhile, Kal faces a "nuisance lawsuit." I'm hoping one of these stories lead to a storyline where an online gossip insists that a male celebrity is gay. (And I think it could be equally interesting if the gossip were right, like with Kal, or wrong, like with Connor.)

Thanks Kev for the interview link. I will never understand why they would want to go down another road that doesn't include Tariq. For me, Kal isn't interesting at all without Tariq there.

I'm glad that Tariq isn't tied to Kaldrick's storyline, because Kal needs therapy to deal with his issues and situation. I just wish that the writers and producers could find someway to bring Tariq back into focus on the show, especially with the other characters. He had ties and bonds with them, before Kal came into the picture.

And by the way, i really like the lawyer, i think he is the perfect match to Kal right now, someone who is confident and who is not on the mood to tolerate his behaviour. Very interesting character. Kal storyline is very good, but it would be even better if we can see Tariq, not necesarily on Kal's storylien

Tariq is so young. I totally get why he needed to go home to his family in Canada. Not only did he not want any of his friends to know what happened to him, but he also didn't want to have to deal with Kal & Co trying to contact him. He's not gone from the series though so I'm excited for when he comes back. As for Kal, I'm reserving judgement until I see how this situation plays out. He still isn't dealing properly with his tendency towards violence and all his anger and pain. He can't just gloss over that or it will come out again and he'll hurt someone or himself.

I still don't understand why Kal's story couldn't be told with Tariq still on the show. They could have been in separate storylines until it was time to deal with them as a couple, whether they reunite or not.
