Here are all of Tariq and Kal's scenes from tonight's episode: Tariq and Kal - Episode 104Lots of good material for the guys. I don't really know how to feel about the pacing of this storyline. It feels really rushed and unrealistic. Buuuttt... it sure is enjoyable to watch. The rest of the show continues to be a bit of a bust for me. Also, for reference, because I know people like to get a full sense of how a show is handling gay love scenes - Tariq and Kal's scenes were interspersed with the love scenes of two straight couples. Tariq and Kal had the most passionate scene. Which was a refreshing change of pace! ETA: Here's the preview for next week's episode. It's very Tariq/Kal centered. Yay! thanks a lot for continuing to upload, tubedout! I think this part is beautiful, especially when Tariq and Kal make love. there is this shift in the tempo of their interaction, it seems Tariq is feeling the need to initiate. also, their relationship is developing quickly on screen but somehow I feel like it fits them.

Absolutely perfect.
So full of emotion and depth and intimacy. Kal realizing what he's missing, the sense of loss and regret when he was talking about traveling. He looked like a scared deer during the dinner scene. Oh GOD these boys are gonna suffer.
Tariq so young and hopeful and open to Kal and Kal trying so hard to stay HARD but losing the will because he's clearing falling.
3 weeks in and they are both completely SPRUNG!
It's just so dangerous and bound for tears and agony. Just like love.
Well done Canada.

I'm enjoying this a lot..I loved in the last episode where Kai wanted to start up another ferocious sex episode and Tariq just slowed him down and made it turn soft, romantic and tender. Kai turned a lil corner there I believe. And at the end ,, it made feel their hurt when Tariq depressingly went over their cover stories about where they were. And the looks of hurt on both men that they had to do this.... well done.

Ok that was intense. Kal was totally despicable. Right now I want Tariq to run as fast from this guy as he can.
Intrigued to see how it works out next week. Looks like they get together again. How on earth can Kal redeem himself?

I don't think Kal is so bad. I think he fell in love for the first time in his life and he's scared shitless cause this love could ruin everything he worked for and totally shatter the man he thinks he is. I think deep down, he's good person with a good heart and really care about Tariq (he's risking a lot just having him around) I hope, in time, he'll find the courage to stand up and fight for Tariq.

That was so heartbreaking!!!
They were so happy and in love and the next minute...
But that look in Kal's eyes in the last seconds. This desperation was so sad to see!! And Tariq's pleas to "don't do it"!!
I don't know, if they get over this. I don't think they can really. Although Kal has reasons for his behaviour, that's no excuse to hurt your lover that much.
I hope there will be a new season and that they figure this story out. Though I could see a new season without Kal in it (Him being on tour or something) and Tariq getting a new Beau...
This show is intriguing, at least this storyline is, and I'm curious how it will progress.

Kal acts on instinct each and every time. I think, if they are going to get back together, Tariq will need time to heal and to distance himself from what happened. but that's only my point of view.
also, Kal's line in which he says "build a life" makes me think of Brokeback Mountain, only their roles aren't exactly the same as those of the boys in the film.

God, that was harrowing. And brutal.
Wonderful (and about time too) as it is to see gay characters on TV negotiating the same relationship labyrinths as everybody else, there is a certain complacency in the proliferation of 'let's get married... and have kids!!' storylines around at the minute. I guess it's important to be reminded of the depth of raging, visceral homophobia and misogyny that still exists in some parts.
I have no idea what to say about Kal beating Tariq. I can understand why he did it but I am finding it impossible to reconcile and can only say kudos to the LA Complex for bringing such a complex storyline to the screen. And to tubedout for bringing it to those of us outside Canada.
Tariq is adorable. I want him to find a more gay-friendly milieu in which to work and to have enough self respect never ever to have anything to do with Kal again. It is however one of the ultimate soapy clichés that nobody is beyond redemption, so I am intrigued as to where this storyline goes if Kal does stick around.

I want Tariq to have a relationship, he can show. To have a lover, he can be open and together with on the "outside world". But that would mean, change direction completely. Well, he is kinda "out" now, because Kal made it look like Tariq "forced" himself on him. I don't see Tariq working there anymore. Dynasty and his (imo hilarious  ) sidekick won't want him there anymore, even if he was beaten up. And Tariq won't want to work there anymore, let alone with Kal. Kal will deny it and I don't see him being "the bad guy" in these circles. So Tariq will have to change jobs/towns/all of it... It will be interesting to see this... Do you see Kal being sued? Maybe Tariq will take a firm stand on this and "destroy" Kal's career in the process... I hope they don't take too much time off. (what's with all these short series lately??) |

Does anyone know when the show starts back up? I know this is supposed to be the mid season break.
I'm excited to see what happens with Tariq and his job. For some reason I don't think Dynasty would fire him. I wonder if Dynasty will get suspicious, I mean from what has been shown of Tariq would D even believe Tariq would even approach Kal in that way. I wanna know does Kal go to jail for this or what. And how they will redeem or if they even do.

You cannot help but feel for Tariq because He wears his heart on His shoulder and it's easy for Him to get burned. I hope for the next season Kal gets outed and when He feels as though His world is crashing around Him, Tariq will have moved on with someone new. I think as the show progress later on the writers will have them two eventually getting back together. This is a good show can't wait for the next season.  |
