I reading all these spoilers and why are they saying Dan's former flame and Dan's ex-partner Stephen? I'm confused, but did I miss where they got together? I'm replying here because there is no spoiler discussion thread like all the other shows have.

I think the people who write these spoiler articles don't necessarily watch the shows, so they might not have thought about that the wording is actually inaccurate... Also, I saw a short video interview with the guy who plays Greg, which seems to be where they got their information, and he doesn't know much about the storyline when Stephen was first introduced either...

Adam Astill leaving the show!! www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s19/holby-city/news/a382137/holby-city-exit-for-dan-hamilton-confirmed.htmlI imagine Dan must have been quite a difficult character to play. He's a not very likeable, entitled, silver spoon coward who appears to have coasted through life without ever having to prove himself. I hated the character but thought the actor did a good job balancing Dan's appalling arrogance with repressed self-loathing, moving almost (but never quite) toward acceptance. I liked the nuanced way the writers used him to explore the racism of the old boys club. The way (if I recall correctly) he told Malick it would have been easier for him to come out because, as a black man, the establishment expected less of him (or words to that effect). My favourite thing about Holby City is the subtlety of its characterisations. There are no heroes and villains, just flawed and complex characters. At least this means they will definitely NOT be going there by hooking Dan and Malick up. I really did not want to see that, although I would love to see Malick meet someone. I wonder what the history between Dan and the new nurse is?? Paul Nicholls is quite a high profile casting, so here's hoping for a juicy storyline!!

Is it possible that Adam is leaving but Dan the character will return played by another actor? It was interesting when Adam said "This might not be the last we see of Dan though."

I was thinking he meant that he, the actor, might return to the part in the future.

Yeah, he's jealous over Malick and Simon's growing friendship and Malick tells him if he wants Simon needs to go for it. So Dan asks Simon out for a date.

Just to add a few things. Simon and Dan have slept together at this point, but Dan still hasn't fully accepted that he's gay. Simon promises that he won't push things with Dan, but the arrival of Dan's father complicates things.
