well i keep my hopes very low,but if they let them have sex it could burn the screen with hotness First, I'm upset that the first gay, contract character (and his portrayer) is, apparently, the only one to never get a love scene. I'm sure that sounds shallow, but I don't give a crap. Second, they built up PaulSon over the last 9 months and now they've decided that Paul no longer loves Sonny or wants to be with him? BULLS#%&!!!! There is no doubt in my mind that they are going to make Will, who cheated on Sonny twice, Paul's true love. Basically, Will gets rewarded with a happy ending, while Sonny gets crapped on AGAIN! To say I'm pissed off is an understatement! I think I finally understand a little bit of how ATWT fans felt when Reid was hit by that damn train. At least Sonny gets to live (I think. When Freddie said that, it was before he went back for reshoots. For all we know, the new writers have Clyde kill him and Will & Paul profess their undying love to each other and have sex on Sonny's grave). Who exactly is this referring to? Surely not to Sonny/Freddie Smith? Since when is Sonny the first gay (male) contract character? Surely that would be Will (on this show) and Luke Snyder (on US daytime as a whole). And frankly, I don't imagine there would be much to look forward to in a Sonny love scene. He's had kisses and bed scenes with Will (both versions) and Paul, and didn't bring much heat to either. Now we could blame Chandler for the early scenes, but Guy and Christopher have both been able to heat up the screen (in their scenes together, and in Paul's kiss with Derrick yesterday). In fact, I remember distinctly a scene when Guy went in for a kiss, and Freddie kept his lips tightly pursed. The only halfway decent kiss Freddie had was with Brant Daugherty (and even that was mostly down to the latter). So yeah - it's no big loss if the coveted Sonny sex scene doesn't happen.

Sorry, sorry, I should have said OUT gay character. Please forgive me for my mistake, since Will is also gay, I thought common sense would reign supreme in what I meant. Clearly, I was wrong . Also, as a massive Kish fan, since we were talking about Days, if figured that pesky little common sense thing would rear its ugly head. Once again, wrong. As for the rest, that is completely subjective. I honestly never really saw much of a problem with Chandler in the kissing scenes and I love Guy. I also think that Freddie has given everything to all his kissing scenes and they are hot as hell. As for that kissing scene between Guy and Freddie, if it's the one I'm thinks about, that was an acting choice on Freddie's side and completely appropriate. But, you can just ignore this post and my response to you in the other thread because, I'm just now realizing, not only are you not a Sonny fan, you don't like Freddie at all so I think there is no way we would agree on anything.

There's no need for sarcasm or insults. A character's sexuality always exists regardless of when they come out, so when you say "the first gay, contract character [on this soap]", I believe that is correctly Will Horton. Making a mistake and then claiming that others lack common sense because they don't arrive at the same erroneous interpretation as you is disingenuous, to say the least.
Contrary to your beliefs, I think Sonny is a much nicer person than Will. Will cheating on him (and what he did afterwards) was wrong. I wish Sonny was given more of a perspective, but I understand why he was not. I would give a parallel with Abby and Ben. We don't get a lot of insight into Ben, the focus is on Abby. The reason is the show has invested a lot more time and energy into her character, she is more crucially tied to the canvas than he is.
I have also enjoyed Freddie's acting (until the last few weeks, when he clearly checked out). He has done very well in portraying his character's thoughts and emotions subtly. Not many actors can do that and prefer melodramatic scenes for that reason.
The only aspect of Freddie's portrayal that I take issue with is his kissing/love scenes. I'm left with the perception that Freddie's not invested in the sexual part of his character - at least not like Guy or Christopher (or the guys on GH). You're right, this is entirely subjective, but to me Sonny comes across as one of those gay guys who vastly prefers cuddling to sex, whose feelings for his husband/boyfriend are purely affection and fondness rather than lust or passion. He kisses Will/Paul like it's an obligation - "oh right, this guy's my husband/BF, convention dictates that I kiss him on the lips even though I don't particularly care to". It was not as noticeable when Chandler was playing Will, because he had the same approach to those scenes (unless it was opposite Gabi - which explains why some fans still feel they were a genuine pairing). But opposite Guy and Christopher who play their characters as (realistically) sexual beings, Freddie's reluctance becomes glaringly obvious, and that takes me out of the scene.

SPOLIER:Will and Paul Week of August 10,2015
I got this from the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest regarding Will and Paul for the week of August 10,2015. An unexpected turn will happen as Paul and Derek are enjoying an evening together.Christopher Sean (Paul) previews that Derek will slip up when he reveals things to Paul that Paul knows he hasn't told anyone else except for Will.Even though Paul is surprised he tries to cover his emotions but Derek senses that Paul's mood has soured.
Paul becomes fed up with Will's behavior and goes to confront him.The actor notes that a demanding Paul wants to know how Derek knows details from his interview with Will that they both agreed would remain confidential.Even as Will tries to talk his way out of it,his deceptive behavior tries Paul's patience.Christopher points out that even though Will is trying to save his marriage he's resorting to any means possible to do it unfortunately. The actor remarks that Paul does realize that people in love do the strangest things and that Will is so terrified of losing Sony's love.So the actor says Paul does understand where Will is coming from but he also knows it's a dangerous game that Will is playing.

IF THIS IS TRUE.Then I'm not really that surprised I don't think Guy caught on with the fans like Chandler did I mean I know he has some fans but nothing like Chandler has.I wish him the best of luck.

I think you shouldn't assume anything until Guy or the show has made it official. Just saying and yes, I am a fan.

Obviously, there's no confirmation right now, but I personally think Guy is gone. The show is not ever going to make anything "official." They don't comment on the status of their actors. Freddie is just about gone at this point and Days has never made any sort of announcement about his departure. So I doubt they'll say anything about Guy, either.
It's more likely that one of the soap mags will break the news at some point, and until then, Guy isn't going to say anything either. Freddie didn't talk about his departure until it had been leaked all over the internet by a soap journalist.
The "blob chart" that is being referred to is a cast chart for the week. Deidre Hall mistakenly posted a behind-the-scenes picture on the Days set where you can see the cast chart posted on a bulletin board behind her. Recently, the cast has published these types of pictures, with the charts, scripts, and even monitors blurred so that we couldn't decipher them. Somehow this one made it out without being censored. If Guy doesn't appear on it (and I've seen it, and even though it's blurry, I agree that he doesn't) it's all but certain that he's gone.
I have absolutely no desire to see someone lose their job. But I never was able to form any connection with Guy's portrayal of Will, so I wish Guy luck in future endeavors and hope he finds other projects quickly. I've heard nothing but nice things about him as a person, but he was just never "my" Will Horton.
Also - this is purely speculation on my part - but I actually think Guy has been gone since May, and he'll last air in November. Contracts go in 13-week cycles, giving the show the opportunity to let the actor go every 13 weeks without paying them for the remainder of their contract. This is what happened to Chandler. He was abruptly let go at the end of his second-to-last 13 week cycle, so that they could recast and begin paying the new actor without having to also pay Chandler until the original end of his contract. Once you start the cycle, they have to pay the actor for the entire 13 weeks. Guy began taping sometime in August, which would put his second-to-last 13-week cycle somewhere in April/May.
Coincidentally, we saw Freddie back on set in May, nearly two months after he'd initially left. He could've just been there for reshoots. Or he could've been there to film Will's exit. Either way, I have a feeling that the true culmination of Will and Sonny's story will not be in a week or two when Sonny leaves, but in November.

Also there is speculation that Chandler Massey is set to return because he's going to appear at a Days fan event in Toronto Canada on October 24 with Greg Vaughan (Eric) here's the info. "Get ready for a boatload of fun with Greg Vaughan and Chandler Massey." Spend the day with your favorite stars from Days. Saturday October 24 Toronto Canada Chandler Tweeted about it-which is a rarity since he is not a big tweeter.

Freddie Smith (Sonny) Talks About His Exit
In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest Freddie Smith (Sonny) talks about his upcoming exit which happens onscreen this coming week. This week marks the end at least for now of Sonny been in Salem as he leaves town to work for his uncle Victor in Europe.Freddie Smith (Sonny) remarks he himself was genuinely as well as the character of Sonny was regarding his final day on set.The actor notes that as Sonny was saying goodbye to the person he was also saying goodbye he has worked with for the last four years. He says it was very emotional because his life on the show and his life playing Sonny in Salem melded together. Earlier this year Freddie decided to pursue outside opportunities and thus decided not sign a new contract with the show.Freddie reports he already has a few films in preproduction and it's exciting they will be going into production very soon.He says he is focusing on moving on with his life by finding new projects for him to do and also grow as a person at the same time. Freddie is very pleased that before he left darker layers were added to the character of Sonny because he points out that the last eight months that he was working at Days were very dramatic and he remembers thinking that before the story involving Will and Paul started he asked,"Sonny so happy. Can he just once in a while yell?"Freddie says that once that story started he just wanted to go to work and be the happy Sonny who danced and who told jokes. However the actor states that no matter what direction the story took he loves the character Sonny and that he can snap into the character at any second because it's in him. However even though Sonny has left Salem for his new job it doesn't mean it's permanent because Freddie teases that he'll be back.

In a July interview SOD conducted with Ken Corday, the executive producer said this in regards to bringing back the dead: "From September 1 on, when someone dies, they are dead."
On another note, so Sonny is going to just leave his daughter and not eve bother divorcing his husband? Interesting and bizarre. I'm glad that Freddie is willing to come back as Sonny.
