I have seen speculation that Paul's devastating news has nothing to do with this career, but that he learns that his grandfather died. This could also be a reason for his mother to come to town.

very nice interview, Sean is such a doll you think he accidentally blabbed about both Freddie and Guy being a good kisser or he was joking?

I mean when Will finally accepted that he was gay he said he didn't want to date, he knew who he wanted to be with and he wanted Sonny. So will fell in love and married his first real love. Which is actually a beautiful thing. And so Days wants to destroy that. And why? Because on a soap love is boring. But to me what is boring is the same old s/l's. To bad the writers have no imaginations. Of course if they did the rating wouldn't suck as bad as they do.

To bad the writers have no imaginations. Of course if they did the rating wouldn't suck as bad as they do. I'm also starting to suspect that the spoiler about Will cheating with Paul is true now. My only question is: what was the point of making him Sonny's ex and building that backstory with them? It could have been Will's professor or another reporter at Sonix to get the same result. Paul obviously wants Sonny right now. It is possible that they are framing everything in reference to Will to disguise the fact that Sonny is the one who cheats. Where they say Will jumped in, that could refer to them rushing into marriage and being ill-equipped to handle marital strife. I did think that Will would be more likely to cheat based on his inexperience if they ever had to do such a storyline, but I have the same concerns that many of us have discussed here over the last few days. I'm just too scared that Will would become irredeemable and I would be disappointed that Sonny wouldn't be the lead in the story. Plus him considering dating Paul after Paul sleeping with Will is too sad for words. Maybe Will finds out about Sonny and Paul and decides that it would be better for he and Sonny to take a break. Perhaps it plays from the point of view that upon finding out that Paul was Sonny's first love, Will evaluates his own lack of experience, feels like he and Sonny got weighed down with responsibility too quickly and decides to set him free. It is also possible that Will questions Sonny's intentions when he helped him come out, Will might feel like he was a bit of a project for Sonny, and that Sonny succeeded with Will where he failed with Paul. I'm just irritated because I thought they discussed Will's lack of experience and comparative sophistication before they got married. They also talked their parents around to the idea of them getting married so young. But I suppose you never know how you will respond until you are tested. I'm really hoping that it doesn't play out the way Corday is implying it will. Maybe when Will told Sami Sonny would never cheat on him, it was an anvil that he would be the one to cheat. Regardless, I hope WilSon can work things out. Plus, this is not all there is to the story, What about Paul being outed, Paul's mother and where Derrick fits in?

This was what I've been seeing from the little I know. There were many that never understood why Will and Sonny fell for each other. Many thought Brian was a better match for Sonny.
Sonny was always there for Will and it seems this time that Will is trying to stand on his own and be less dependent on him. He has failed miserably. He's now doing the article with Paul. They are talking about his personal life. Some things in Paul's life, I can see ringing true to Will. Sonny might not understand Paul not coming out, but Will might.
Paul only connected with Sonny and Will was the same way. First love can seem like only love. Especially when you become dependent on that person. What if Paul and Will now connect with each other, with with both being the first person that they've been able to open up with.
Sonny is being hard on Will and he's rejecting Paul, so if the two are talking, I can see them getting close and sleeping together.
Paul may decide to come out, but I can see the arrival of his mother delaying that. Will would be more accepting of his situation than Sonny would.
Derrick can factor in in a lot of ways. What if he tells Sonny that Paul has had someone coming to his room. That would make Sonny remember when he use to do that. It would make him think Paul hasn't changed. Days is all about plot points and that would keep Sonny away from Paul. Derrick could also tell Sonny about Will, but if Will is still just doing the article, he will have an explanation. Sonny might still not want to tell Will about his and Paul's past. Once again a plot point to keep Paul and Will in close proximity without Sonnys interference.
Mad far as why Paul had to be from Sonny's past, I think they want to show how these people who have had a similar history are brought together. Using Sonny makes it easier, then building a completely new one for Paul and it requires less people to be involved.
Parts of this story seems to have started out like the gift of the Magi. Sonny itrying to impress Will with the club and Will wanting to make good for Sonny with the article, but both will eventually pull them apart.
Just my opinion from the outside looking in.
I'd like to throw the possibility out there. Freddie said that he's not sure what this will mean for WilSon. His contract is up April. It could be that CS is a replacement if Freddie leaves or is being used to make negotiations easier for TPTB. If there is another player in the mix, they have more bargaining power than if it's just Will and Sonny.

But the problem is not Will and Paul sleeping together. Of course that could happen, Paul is a single man and Will and Sonny's relationship is not working right now. The problem is not that, the problem is what to do after that, because Paul will be unsuitable for Sonny, i don't think Sonny will care about the reasons Paul slept with his husband, no matter if Paul doesn't know who Will is, Sonny probably won't going to have nothing with him, probably not even a friendship.
So unless they are going to try a Will/Paul pairing, they sleeping together is not a good idea

I'm just irritated because I thought they discussed Will's lack of experience and comparative sophistication before they got married. But I suppose you never know how you will respond until you are tested.I'm really hoping that it doesn't play out the way Corday is implying it will. Plus, this is not all there is to the story, What about Paul being outed, Paul's mother and where Derrick fits in? I think that's the key point -- that they've never really been tested. All of their challenges so far have really been the two of them against the world. They broke up for a very short time over the paternity reveal, but that was it. I, too, really, really hope they are endgame after all this. I think they are, but I'm made uncomfortable over the show's seeming dislike of super couples and of slow burn romantic storylines. I watched Days years ago for Kim and Shane (Theresa's parents), who had the slowest of slow burns and had to overcome so much before getting married (including Victor being the bad guy -- boy, has his character ever mellowed). It's too bad very few soaps do stories like that anymore. Then again, half the time in interviews Corday doesn't seem aware of what's happening on the show and what episodes have actually aired, so I tend to take his comments with a grain of salt.

I've watched Days for years and years as well. The reason Will and Sonny are so special is that they took the old fashion route with them. Will and Sonny were not thrown together like Chad and Jordan or Abbie and Ben. These two couples will last until the writers are tired writing sex scenes for them and then they'll pair them with other people. It took Will and Sonny forever to get together and they have had to deal with one problem after another, maybe not a real threat from a third party but they have been through a lot. They have been written like the old super couples. The ones who didn't cheat and only ended up in bed with someone else because Stefano brainwashed them into it or made everyone think one of them were dead. That's what made the super couples so special. If Will or Sonny cheat they are no longer special, they are just another ordinary soap couple.

I think what would still qualify them as a super couple would be whether their love was strong enough to overcome the cheating that would destroy most couples. I can think of several super couples who've survived that and gone on to be a lot more than ordinary (and I've only watched Days on and off over the years and only came back for Will and Sonny, so most of the examples I can think of come from GH, whose super couples I grew up on). The main difference between Will and Sonny and those couples is that in most of those couples, both partners had a story/family trouble/baggage/secrets etc. Their stories were about both of them. Will and Sonny's stories so far have all been about Will and his problems. I think the reason many of us invested in Sonny, too, had more to do with the acting than anything else. That's why I'm so glad Sonny's getting a story and why I will be so disappointed if this once again ends up being all about Will. So far it looks to be about both of them, but if the producer sees this as once again being a Will story, that's not a good thing for either Sonny's characterization or their status as a super couple.

I fear the producer is the problem. In the SOD preview he speaks of Lucas's new love interest. As you may have read most think this will be Adrienne, the mother of Will's husband. Corday describes the s/l as cute. Really he say's it's a cute story. How could Will's father sleeping with Sonny's married mother be considered cute. And as far as whose story it is. We'll next weeks NBC preview shows two arms(Paul's and Will's) toasting the new year and then cuts to Sonny alone in the apartment looking sad because Will's not there.

Given the rumor about Will and Paul sleeping together around the 1st of the year the NBC preview for next week worries me. New Years Eve will air on the 2nd since days is a day behind and doesn't air the 1st. The 2nd is probably the day Will is in Paul's room . www.youtube.com/watch?v=KE178TUM1VAIf there's any truth to this I'm hoping Will has too much to drink and he really just "sleeps" with Paul. He passes out and Paul puts him in bed. Nothing really happens except Derrick sees him leaving the hotel room the next morning.

Nothing really happens except Derrick sees him leaving the hotel room the next morning. Yeah, this could be. I think that Will was going to do the interview because he was angry at Sonny, because he took money from their account and said nothing. Paul on Tuesday, tells Sonny that he still loves him, he wants them back, but Sonny might respond that it is too late (it is never too late), and that Paul should also move. Will go do an interview, which is very irresponsible of him on New Year's Eve, but so be it, time goes by, and is approaching midnight and Paul offer Will a glass of champagne to toast. Christopher spoke in the interview that Freddie, Jen and Guy are good kisser, so maybe there will be some affair. When Sonny will still refuse to Paul, so Paul, will focus on Will.

Frankly i think i wasted my time being excited for this storyline. I expected Sonny for once being the center of the story but once more it seems it will be Will again. If it's that, sorry but i'm not interested

For these characters to be treated, written and portrayed just like all the other "ordinary" soap characters and pairings? Not something that is "so special", that they cannot be tainted by the usual soap tropes? As other commentators keep pointing out, IF Will and Sonny somehow cannot make it through this situation, end up falling apart, move on to other partners and not end up reunited, that means that they were not the "super couple" most folks wanted them to be. Yet, the show should at least try to mix things up a bit for the characters, even when it hurts the fans that support the pairing. We have the baby and marriage checked off, all within 3 years of Sonny and Will meeting each other. We even had Will having sex, with his ex girlfriend Gabi, which resulted in Arianna Grace's birth. Will and Sonny survived that situation. Why is the thought of Will or Sonny (I would love it if it was Sonny) cheating so hard to understand, when this situation has happened in other "old super couples" pairings? Are folks terrified that either Will or Sonny will be written out, if the audience turns on their pairing?

Are folks terrified that either Will or Sonny will be written out, if the audience turns on their pairing? My only gripe with this story would be if Paul and Will are the ones who sleep together. Yes, Will is the one who has limited sexual experience, especially with other men, but I wanted Sonny to do something bad for once. I will say that Will has always sat around waiting for Sonny to forgive him, so maybe Sonny competing with another guy wouldn't be so bad. Will is always painted as such a screwup, even now when Sonny is telling worse lies and keeping worse secrets, Will is still the worst husband ever. If Will cheats, I don't think the character will ever make a comeback. People are even angry at Will possibly taking Paul away from Sonny for goodness sake. Most people act like Will should be the one grateful for Sonny (and he should be), but a relationship is a two-way thing. I'm sure Sonny needs Will just a much. I just think there is more drama in Sonny getting seduced by the past and jeopardizing the family he has with Will. Victor even warned him yesterday about jeopardizing his place in the Horton family and Will's life. Sonny always seems to be in control, so the possibility of him losing Will and Ari and Will possibly moving on at some point to date someone else excites me. I need a change from Will messing up and Sonny forgiving him. I've thought about it all: The Horton's blanking Sonny. Victor and Caroline talking about how they had an affair and how Will and Sonny should be able to move past it, Victor inviting Will and Ari to move into the Kiriakis Mansion, Adrienne taking Will's side and finally burying the hatchet with Will, Lucas teaming up with Will to prove that he didn't out Paul, Justin drawing up divorce papers, Will drinking too much because he misses Sonny, Ari getting hurt and Sonny rushing to be with Will, making Paul jealous. This kind of story has the potential to involve a lot of people that are close to Will and Sonny and I don't see the same effect happening if Will is the one who cheats with Paul. In my fantasy, Sonny would actually start to date Paul and I don't see Paul bothering to date Will if once outed, he could have Sonny. I also don't see Sonny wanting to date Paul if he slept with Will.

Agreed, Nina. Especially the part about the drama regarding Sonny being seduced by his past, Sonny always being in control and how much he also needs to be with Will. If he really didn't love Will so much, he wouldn't have put up with all of his issues for the past years and how he's being right now. Also, if it's Sonny that cheats, it's just not about his husband deals with the betrayal: How will Sonny react to what he's done? Does he want to end his marriage and life with Will? Does he want to give Paul another chance?

Also, if it's Sonny that cheats, it's just not about his husband deals with the betrayal: How will Sonny react to what he's done? Does he want to end his marriage and life with Will? Does he want to give Paul another chance? Sonny and Paul's relationship has the benefit of not having ended because of lack of love. Personally, I think what Sonny has with Will now is deeper and better, but for the purposes of the story, this is what makes it a Sophie's choice of sorts. If Paul had been out, Sonny might never have come to Salem and I think this is what will open up a can of worms for all parties involved. GW did say in an interview that the emotional connection between Sonny and Paul is what concerns Will and that this emotional connection is what raises the stakes for everyone involved. I think that even if nobody cheated, Will could still be threatened by the connection Sonny and Paul had and if he finds out about the kisses or investing in the club, he could separate from Sonny. Sonny could go on to sleep with Paul while estranged from Will, scuppering any chance of a reconciliation between the two. Sonny could then try to make it work with Paul, because of his unresolved feelings and believing that he and Will are truly over. Sonny could date Paul for a while, help with his coming out issues and his family, then get jealous once Will starts dating someone else. Paul could even decide that he wants to date around. I find it difficult to believe that Sonny and Paul are the same people from three years ago. I would enjoy watching Sonny fall in love with Will all over again and realise that they are together because they want to be. That being said, this Paul story could be FS's exit story or Will and Paul could end up together, but somehow, I don't see WilSon being apart for the 50th Anniversary. People keep saying that Christopher Sean is around for the long haul, but the reality is contracts don't mean much on this soap. As for the promo for next week, Will is so naive, I don't think he has definitively picked up that Paul is gay. Perhaps Paul makes a pass at him and that's why CS knows that GW is also a good kisser, because that's how Will finally figures out Paul is gay. Something has to lead to Will finding out that Paul is Sonny's ex, so maybe now that the article is over, Will can tell Sonny that the subject (Paul) made a pass at him. Even if Will, Sonny and Paul met in the street, wouldn't Paul and Sonny act like they didn't know each other? GW made it seem like Sonny opens up about Paul to Will before Derrick drops some kind of bomb, so something has to force Sonny to give up the goods. In any case, I would not be surprised if Paul toasts with Will and ends up taking Derrick to bed. There is no way they hired someone who looks like that not to take his shirt off. They would have been better off with a Mr. Greetings-type if all he's going to do is take photos. I enjoyed that toast at the end of the promo. I didn't have a sexy vibe to me, it had a 'may the best man win' vibe to me (though they don't even know it). I imagine that Will and Paul will be in an adversarial relationship in the new year, which is why it's so ironic that they are chummy right now. Sonny being alone at home on NYE this year is the equivalent of Sami giving EJ a cheek kiss at TBD last year. That was just to show marital discord and then the following week, on January 6, EJ slept with Abby. Dun dun dun. I think Sonny will likely go running to Paul after Victor's attempt to help him backfires. But again, I don't think cheating necessarily happens, I just think all Sonny's lies about Paul will catch up with him, the kisses, the phone calls, the clandestine meetings in the park. Plus, once Paul finds out Will is Sonny's husband, who knows what he will do?
