I wanted to add that I assumed DOOL would have the wedding in May Sweeps because of the promotional aspect. I do know that something doesn't have to happen in Sweeps to create buzz e.g. Nick and Gabi's first wedding attempt. I hope that the show will at least promote the hell out of it. I would feel cheated if Will and Sonny were forced to have a small wedding.

In the new SOD, Adrienne doesn't react well to the news that Will and Sonny are getting married. She thinks they are rushing things, but she still has reservations about Will's family. I can understand that she would think they are going to fast based on their age, but why do they always go back to the issue of Will's family. I used to be such an Adrienne fan, and they always make her go over the top. They never show her as having made any progress with Will. The family issue should be yesterday's news. Does that mean she won't come to the Wedding?

I do think she needs to respect her son's decision because sonny is going to end up alienating her.

I'm sure she'll get over it in the end. it's just an attempt to create 'drama' since they clearly don't plan to write anything else for them.

He DOES get it, but let's see IF the show's writers agree that things HAVE and should continue to move forward in the growth, maturity and development of Will as he gets older and gets used to being his own person and not just Sami and Lucas' "wise beyond his years" son.

Yes, Adrienne will probably and predictably get over it, but I still do not find fault in her remaining concerns about her son being involved with Will and his family. Marriage will just establish another level of further bonding between her son and a family that she sees as trouble with a capital T. It makes sense to me that even though she wants Sonny to be happy, that she'll probably always think and feel that Will will never be good enough for him. Some parents are just like that and unless she actively tries to bring someone in to screw things up for the couple (which will probably never happen), then it's just something that both Sonny and Will will have to deal with as a couple.

Let's be real, if they were treated/written like any other couple, you'd have enemies Adrienne and Sami teaming up to make sure the wedding never happens. Honestly though I hate the way Adrienne is written. One minute she's groveling, bowing and scraping at the altar of Will and Sonny's golden love and the next she's against them, which will only lead to more bowing and scraping and groveling. It's really pointless unless she's allowed to take action, which of course she never would.

I understand Adrienne, i'm totally against that wedding and Sonny is not my son (but if he was i would be plotting against that marriage in a very soapy way)

Damn...those were some meddling parents in Pine Valley in the 80s

As being blown away by the golden love of WilSon that she's constantly in the wrong by being against it. She's the coyote to Wilson's Road Runner.

I just don't like the fact that Adrienne acts bipolar. I wish they would show some growth. Even Sami and Kate have learnt to tolerate each other. It's like she backtracks all the time. And especially because of Ari, it's jarring. You can't call the kid your grandchild and then wish your son was free of her father.
The new promo says EJ and Sami get married in May, so Wilson definitely get married first. I assume late March.

As annoying as Adrienne's waffling is, I fully expected her to turn on them again sooner or later. I actually thought it would happen once the truth about Sami's involvement with Nick's "death" was revealed (and them pulling Sonny into the lie) - but that didn't happen. I'm actually not sure how big of a deal the secret is anymore, now that Nick is alive (aside from likely revenge storyline). So I will admit, Days managed to surprise me . I guess we'll see.

I'd agree with you if Ari was Sonny's biological daughter. Adrienne could act like Jessica Lange in Hush if that was the case, but how does she expect to continue her relationship with Ari if Will leaves? The only reason Ari is in her life at all is because Will is her father and he's in a relationship with Sonny. Not to get too off-topic, but I wish they would twist things around this time and have Adrienne find out that Sonny has been keeping secrets from Will (albeit lying by omission). I wish she would also find out that her husband has made an illegal agreement concealing Gabi's kidnapping and the Daysaster that killed her brother. Okay, Gabi didn't know Andrew was gonna go rogue, but when he did she did nothing to stop him. If you assign causality, the Daysaster never would have happened if Gabi hadn't hired Andrew.

Both Adrienne and Justin were not around for Ari's christening. Her issues with Will being apart of Sonny's life were there long before Ari was born. Now, as for hoping that Adrienne will find out about Sonny keeping secrets from Will AND her husband creating an agreement to help Gabi out, it ALL still ends up being about protecting Will and his family (including Gabi and all her actions) in her mind.
