New guy here.

My name is Geoff and I'm in North Carolina, USA. I'm politically active and because I work night shift, I tend to miss important political speeches...Somehow, I typoed while searching youtube (no idea what I typed) and up came various listings for Oliver and Christian LOL.

Seriously.

Well, I'm also a German enthusiast (some of my family is from Germany) so, I thought, what the hell....

So, I'm hooked! All my friends think I've gone insane as I normally consider soaps sorta 'low brow' as it were. Not so, VL!

Thanks, everyone, for all your hard work at translation. Ugh. I know how that is from back in German class.

Hi. I'm j9l45, a 31 yo woman from Texas. I've been lurking for over a month, but have finally decided to join in on the fun. I'm a bit of a technophobe so my posts might be, um, interesting while I figure this whole thing out.

I love HO (both JPC and JPK), VL (nanna is my hero), and more recently AWZ. I just can't get interested in ATWT (though I do love GODT's recaps of it.)

I'm Andru, my actual name is Andrea, and I'm a girl from Germany.
I'm totally addicted to Christian & Oliver from VL and every day I can't wait to see some new scenes with them!!!^^

It's been a little while since I have realized that I love to see gay couples together. But this feeling became stronger and stronger, especially when I have seen "Brokeback Mountain" and this lasted till now.
I'd been watching VL for many years and right at the moment I decided not to watch it anymore these two guys came up!!! And now I'm watching the vids on youtube the whole day long!!!^^
And I'm creating fan vids all the time, it gradually gets really bad *g*

Yeah, that was it!! I won't be here extremely often because school stresses me, but I will come around here from time to time!

Just in case you're wondering... Neand is short for neanderthal. No cell phone, no answering machine, no cable.
Do you know how long it took me to figure out how to access this message box? Still praying to the gods of technology it's the right place. AVATARS? SMILIES? TAGS? MESSAGE ICON? QUOTES? Forget it. I believe in the existence of a parallel universe inhabited by the technologically challenged.
I am very comfortable in the suburbs of reality (some friends insist that I live somewhere on the outskirts of sanity).
I was a nickname-less sod until I joined the Canadian Armed Forces (shortly before the end of the last Ice Age). Btw, it's JF (pronounced jay-eff). To paraphrase Descartes: 'I was nicknamed, therefore I was.'

Voracious reader: Atwood, Davies, Austen, Solzhenitsyn, P.D. James, Simenon, Tolkien, Agatha Christie... even fanfic (Craig and Luke being my favourites - you've got to check Baxter's stories).

BBQ addict: who needs a stove?

ATWT intentionally left out until they finally get it right.

Favourite movies: Steel Magnolias, Enchanted April, Shelter, Babette's Feast, Romero, Indian Summer, L'homme que j'aime, Juste une question d'amour...

Work-related forays into the other universe have taken me to Iqaluit, Alert, Greenland, Iceland, Scotland, England, Germany, Gibraltar, the Azores, Bermuda, the States... (Google Earth the first two, should you be curious.)

Fashion sense: non-existent. One of my students (a thirtysomething businessman) once declared: "You look like a Cristmas tree." Not that I am colour-blind; I'm blind to colour matching. If it's clean, wear it.

You're probably wondering what kind of loony you've allowed in. Don't send me into exile just yet. The road less travelled can be most enjoyable.

Well, I'm going to start off with my interesting backround:
I live in New England (In the US, only distinctly better than the rest of it )
Massachusetts was the first state to allow for gay marriage-Where I live.
I am 100% French and am the 1st generation born in the US.
I visit france every year, where I catch up on Le reve de Diana (AWZ)
I watch with interest how Christian/Olli have a relationship, and kinda watched Nuke. Until they started not acting as if they were in a relationship (Oh wait... that was always ) I switched to Ollian after I saw the first translated video of it...by doing a project on gay animals for my science class, clicking on a random news article, finding out it has to do with Ollian and not Gay animals, click on the youtube link and voila! my addiction had just begun. ;D
Now my future plans:
Once I get out Of high school I am going to germany for a year to Learn German... well, im in the process of doing that, but not very proficient.
I want to study at the University of Munich/ Cologne, but my parents aren't to keen on the whole 'germany and not US universities' part of that.

Hi, Cakefan from Belgium. Bisexual female doing research on LGBT-rights who bumped into Nuke/ATWT during the kiss-controversy when they appeared in an online newspaper article. The article contained a youtube-link to the first kiss and of course I wanted to know the whole story. I think it was googling for As the World Turns, trying to keep up to date with the Nuke (and Ameera, and Casey) storyline, that I first bumped into this blog and I loved it right away.

At first I just used this blog to keep up to date on Nuke (the brief Luke/Casey charade is where my screenname comes from, and I love cake) - didn't have much interest in "all that German stuff" and the title "hollyoaks" didn't appeal to me either, but somehow I got curious about Deniz and Roman (some comments about the SL being plummeted by turning a gay guy bisexual again, everyone knows it goes the other way around or something - don't like to be stereotyped so I had to see it for myself). I quite liked what I saw ;-) but the storyline did end quite strangely and I really wonder where the hell they are planning to take it...

Anyway, with that storyline (for now?) over I fell right into the Ollian story at its best moment, where they slept together the first time and all the time it took for Christian to accept his feelings. Aaaaaah, the beauty, the kisses, the angst,... I just wish they'd come out already. In any case, my German has improved LOADS these past months, I must say.

Hollyoaks and gay priests getting it on with college students didn't appeal to me at all, so it took me ages before I finally took my first peak at John Paul and Kieron, but when I did, even though I had no particular sympathy for Kieron (it's the dog collar, I know I am shallow) the characters of John Paul and Kris got me hooked on the show right away. And of course I wanted to know who this Craig-person was.

I just can't believe I wasn't aware of this SL any earlier and I am afraid that in the shortest time I have become the biggest JP/C - sunset ending shipper. I SOOO identified with this guy, what he was going through, what it is like to be in a nice heterosexual relationship but then to fall in love with your best friend and how much confusion and hurt this causes on all sides. He acted like a complete jerk to both Sarah and John Paul and yet I sooooo felt for him. I could go on for a bit but won't bore you with the details of my Craig-love - or my JP-love or my Kris-love for that matter.

So Hollyoaks first for me ('cause Craig will be back this summer, I'm a believer), then ATWT, still, since the kissing ban is over and Ameera is going, then VL, then AWZ. And of course, some Brothers and Sisters (you've got to love Kevin and Scotty) and Greek on the side.

Long story short: I really love this blog! And Gay Daytime Rulez!

Hi everybody. My name is alanis from singapore.

Somehow or another i discovered U.S QAF through youtube. Which i really had an huge addiction about and which also sparked off my love and interest for gay shows. Then i started watching HO and was all crazy over Mcdean. After the story of both show ended, i sank into great depression, Knowing the fact that that the couples did not get together.

And for a while, i moved on doing other stuff.

Only to watch HO again for JP/K which bring me to VL.I pretty much fancy oil/christian.
However, my current obsession is actually AWZ. I completely fell head over heels for Dennis Grabosch. Despite how crappy the writers are taking DeRo storyline to, i'm still not giving up on that show. Because i really believe (and hopefully) that the writers would do them justice'

CAFC: Clueless About Fashion Club; people like me, again, who were informed that Gap (for example) was not only an 'interval', but also a famous clothes company (unless it's a brand... I don't know);

Hi, I'm Andy, a student from Germany.

Well, I've never really introduced myself on a board, so let's see what I can/should/could tell you. I'm 27 and a great Ollian-fan. I just heard about them 2 weeks ago (tops). I've seen the after-elton List and really wondered why there are 2 german guys on that list, and so high in the ranking also, so I did a little research on the names and found out about them beeing a gay couple on vl. I've never been a soap-fan really so I have never seen VL before. I started to watch the story on youtube and finished the 30-something episodes in one night and I really like this story. This is also how I found this board. After some days just reading the posts, I decided to join the community.

Normaly I'm more a drama/mystery fan. I love watching Gilmore Girls, Buffy, Angel, Lost, Smallville, Reaper, Grey's Anatomy, one tree hill and private practice.

I really liked Qaf-US, Michael was my favorite and I totally don't get why everybody is so obsessed with Brian.

away from us-tv, I like japanese drama live actions a lot. Gokusen 1-3, Hana yori Dango and GTO.

Everybody who likes Manga should really read New York New York. It's sad but a wonderfull love story.

Have you gotten interested in the other story lines? I know very little about them -- my German's still not good enough.

Well I've only seen 3 episodes on tv yet (as I said before, I'm normaly no soapfan and wasn't even aware of this one), so I don't really care much about the other storylines (at least not yet). Today it was just about ollian and the kidnapping, along with a sidestory of olivia and count lahnstein who both team up against Olivias uncle. I still feel like i don't even know half of the cast so it's hard to care about them much. Maybe that will change in some weeks when I've seen it regularly.

About todays episode, I certainly don't want to spoil anything, so I keep quiet about this one Well let's just say that the episode ended the same way the trailer did. So no real news on how Gregor will react to what he just saw. The new trailer was just about the kidnapping again.

And tomorrow there's a soccer game (Uefa, european football championship) and Germany will play, unfortunately at the same time VL is airing, so I won't see how he reacts to soon either.... Gotta wait for the uploads at youtube then.

About my english: Thank you It's just that I have dyslexia, so I often make spelling mistakes. So it's not about how to "say something in english" or "understanding an english sentence" it's just about writing. I always try to check up on mistakes, but some slip through anyway.

Yes, it's Julian McMahon from Charmed and Nip/Tuck.

I liked him on charmed alot. Even though I was really happy when he left the show at it's 5th season. His character, Cole, was really getting worse and worse. At the end he was just like some puppy always devoting and returning to his owner who keeps hitting him. And that wasn't how I liked Cole. So leaving the show was a great decision. Not to mention that the show got downhill after season 3 and hit the sharks at it's 7th season.

I guess I should shut up now, it's getting way too much off-topic here.

Hi everyone,

Since I decided to come out of lurk mode and post something, I thought I'd also introduce myself.

Let's see...I'm a 21 year old American student currently finishing up a year of studying in Denmark (less than two weeks left ). I don't even remember how I found them, but I found some Ollian clips and just followed links around and here I am.

Back in April, I realized I'm lucky enough to get Das Erste here in Copenhagen, so I've taken to watching Verbotene Liebe every day. I took German in school for six years, but I haven't used it in two or three, so I needed the subtitles at first to understand things. But thanks mostly to VL and the lovely subtitles, my German has come back to me and I'm now happily watching VL and AWZ without subtitles.

I also, if you haven't noticed yet, tend to ramble. ;D So I'll stop now.
