Hi, I'm Romana I've been lurking here for a while and finally decided to join the fun and get an account. I've been in several fandoms during past years, though mostly RPS, so soaps are a bit new to me. Apart from VL I try to follow Hollyoaks and AWZ.

Well hello The name's Simon, a British Ex Pat living in California. I found the site from Afterelton, and have been hooked on the stories ever since. I really love Verbotene Liebe, and it has convinced me to learn German with my partner just so I can enjoy it without the subtitles (though I depend on them now) - also a fan of the JP/Craig and Kieron stories in Hollyoaks, and Brothers and Sisters is amazing - Matthew Rhys (Kevin) is a Welshie as well and more gorgeous on the stage than the TV, though his American accent is very cute. So that's me, looking forward to posting and getting to know people.

Hi, I am Adrian, 25yo (yes, I’m not even a little bit creative when it comes to nicknames, so I go for the basics…). I was born in Argentina, but lived almost my entire life in Brazil. I’m terrible with presentations but I’ll do my best… Brazil has a lot of soap operas and I actually never enjoyed watching them. And than, about 2 months ago I was wandering around youtube and found a video from Oliver and Christian (don’t ask me how I found, but I guess I searched for “gay kiss”… ), it was love at first sight!!!! And know I’m completely addicted… When I came to know that it was daytime tv, I almost had a heart attack! In Brazil they spent 8 months boiling a gay couple in one of those many soaps I talked about and in the last day, they cut the one and only kiss… it was ridiculous… Other TV series I enjoy are Supernatural (they are super hot!), Desperate housewives, Ugly Betty, Heroes. In Youtube just Olli and Chris…eheheh And for you guys that post and translate for us, and totally addicted us (I think I just created an expression that doesn’t exist in English..) THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!

I am a telenovela animal, but I never really liked Brazilian ones, they were always a bit odd, I much more enjoy the ones from Columbia, Venezuela or Mexico, they are a typical chewing gum for the eyes with a lot of hot actors and a happy ending ;D

Hello people! My name is Gareth, but my friends call me "Cj." (yes, that's how I spell it... there's a reason for that. ) I'm from Vancouver, Canada. I moved here about 2 years ago. I found Verbotene Liebe from a video channel that shortened it as "VL"... I got so hooked into it, but I couldn't understand and the video's weren't complete either.. Then I found TGoD. Thanks to Wolfi, Nanna, and everyone else, I am able to enjoy this great show. AAAAH! I'm screaming with delight within me. I love traveling, singing, dancing, acting, and AV editing. I love makign MTV's too. I love solemn places, nature, some sports, and martial arts. I hope I can make a lot of friends here. Everyone's soooooo nice and I feel privileged to participate in this board. (I hope I'm making sense.... ahe he he he...) Take care, guys! Thanks so much for the warm welcome.

Hi, I'm Christine and I am Swiss.
I startet to watch AWZ last october when I was sick and at home for over a week. And that's how I got the DeRo-virus. But because I havent' gotten much cure for that itch lately, I also startet to follow VL, which I had already watched years ago (because of de Tom and Ulli-Story). I also like Brothers & Sisters and Supernatural.
Because of DeRo I did something I never thought I would do: I startet reading and even writing FanFiction.
Apart from Soaps, TV and Movies in general I really like music. I go to a lot of concerts. Just last week I went to London to see Matchbox Twenty. Other great concert I have been to: Madonna in Hannover, 24 hours later Robbie Williams in Berne, Lenny Kravitz in St. Petersburg, Take That in Frankfurt and Zurich, Matchbox 20 in Berlin, 3 doors down on several occasions ... and many more...
And in a perfect world I would be drinkin tea now with Dean Winchester ... or even better a beer or a nice whiskey....

Hi, I have been lurking for a while now and thought I should say hello.
I am a 34 year old female who lives in Australia. I am a huge fan of Deniz and Roman, and was initially introduced to them when I stumbled across the clips on youtube made by Allaboutstrength earlier this year. I continue to watch them in the hope they will get back together. I have also started following the VL storyline of Christian and Olli, and am loving the fact that it has so many non-German followers that people are kindly adding sub-titles for the ignorant like myself who only speak one language.
In a strange twist of fate I actually started learning German in 2007, so now I can use the excuse that watching AWZ is homework. I still understand practically nothing, but am getting better at the ich sound (which is hard!)
I don't watch Hollyoaks, but I must say my lapsed catholic soul really loves the idea of the current gay romantic pairing, although I have no idea what denomination he is supposed to be.
Anyway, hi.

I am a telenovela animal, but I never really liked Brazilian ones, they were always a bit odd, I much more enjoy the ones from Columbia, Venezuela or Mexico, they are a typical chewing gum for the eyes with a lot of hot actors and a happy ending ;D Well normally Brazilian soaps are pretty much like every other soap: they are about crazy stories and Machiavellian bad guys and a leading lady /lad enduring a difficult “journey” but that everybody knows that are going to succeed in the end … the problem is : in a way that normally only Brazilians understand and enjoy…. So I hear a lot of “odds” and “weirds” from friends abroad. But I have to say I’m used to send them a lot of videos just because of the cute guys! So… are you sure you didn’t see any hot guy in a Brazilian soap? In daytime is pretty much all that is…. (no story at all – that’s what creeps me…) Someone didn’t show you the right ones If anyone is curious or interested, I would be happy to upload something .We recently had some gay plots – nothing compared to Verbotene Liebe… I just don’t know where I could do it in here once this place is dedicated to Chris and Olli (they tooooootally rule! Hehe) ;D

You could put that in "Other Shows". Brazilian soaps and I, there's such a big choice of soaps on TV, so if something doesn't grab me in one episode I move on. Not very deep, but those soaps aren't Shakespeare either ;D

Hi - belatedly I'm Charlie - a gay shepherd living & working in a fairly remote part of the west coast of Scotland.
I'm a complete "newbie" to a forum such as this and am still just trying to navigate my way around - couldn't understand why I couldn't post any messages tonight (hadn't actually logged in duh!!) Discovered Christian & Olli purely by accident about 10 days ago on youtube & my life has stopped. I got so hooked I sat up most of that first night watching it. Thanks for translating Nanna, so loving you for doing that. I think the scripting of it is really good and the acting from Jo & Thore completely absorbing. It's the first time I've ever actually "connected" with a gay storyline.
Hollyoaks was a bit too "teenage angst" for me. Other shows I watch are Shameless, Brothers & Sisters (though I think we're way behind in the uk), Torchwood and loved QAF (UK version).
Have a tendency to ramble on a bit. Hopefully I'll learn how to dress up my comments - they look so naked at the moment. Thanks for the welcomes I have recieved already.

Well hello everyone. I have been itching to get on to The Gays of Daytime for ages and have finally now got round to it.
I am a 24yr old guy living on the south coast of England and I have been with my partner for a year and a half.
I discovered this forum through my sheer love and adoration of Olli and Christian (VL). Although I also watch Hollyoaks and Brothers & Sisters (which I am loving), I have never felt so drawn to two characters in fiction (in a soap of all things) as I have to Ollian. I discovered VL by chance from some blog that I chanced upon a few months ago. Learning German at school and college has finally become useful again as I am truly addicted to the show now and I have noticed my language skills improve daily as a result (they had to with all the rows between Olli and Chris - otherwise I wouldn't have had a clue what was going on!!). I am looking forward to chatting to you all about my face shows and VL in particular and, well yeah. Thanks for having me (and sorry for rambling!!). xx

Took me a while to figure it out too... Don't worry, you'll get there. The thing that literally took me three hours was figuring out my signature and how to centre it etc... Damn modern technology!!

Hiya, my name's Dee Dee. I'm usually a lurker but I thought I'd say hi! I live in California, and am moving to San Francisco soon to get my Master's in Linguistics...and Verbotene Liebe is almost completely responsible for me choosing to study German for one of my foreign languages. (That and my ancestry.) I think I found this site through the Verbotene Liebe videos on YouTube...I first came across the Nuke videos and stayed up half the night watching that, and then I found Ollian and was totally spoiled, and stayed up most of another. I just am awestruck at how natural Jo and Thore are with their affection. So yeah, this is my new guilty pleasure - although not that guilty anymore, now that I know there are plenty of women who enjoy gay male romance. (whew!) Thanks SO much to all of you who make it possible for people like me to follow and appreciate this story!

Hi!
My name is Justin, and I'm in California--huzzah for our state Supreme Court!
I love the whole Oliver and Christian storyline, and I'm amazed by how well the cultural aspects translate from the German. I also like how the story is so un-soap-like, it could fit as a primetime show on Fox or the CW.

Hi! My name is Mark. I've been reading here for a while, but have just registered. I found my way here eventually after I started viewing Nanna and Ivan's Verbotene Liebe posts on YouTube.
I'm a Minnesotan by birth and at heart, but have recently moved to Wisconsin; leaving the big city for life in a mid-sized town.
I'm quite taken by the Olli and Christian story. I particularly like the way that Jo and Thore play their roles and the relationship between their characters. The small little details of affection are really nice. I'm usually quite disappointed by the lack of gay and lesbian relationships on TV and in movies, and often dissatisfied with those that are there. But I find much to like in the story of Olli and Christian.
Oh, and it's not hard to have a "thing" for these guys, either. ;D
