I don't think so. It would be nice, but Callum is still seeing Maddie to my knowledge. It would be nice, and I wouldn't mind it, but it just seems different. Not in a sense that they can't be together. But I just feel that Callum is just a good friend, well, a great friend to George. He just doesn't want to see George in a bad situation.
It would be awesome though if they were to get together, but I don't think it's going to happen. Hollyoaks already has a gay relationship in their belts, but just haven't re-executed it yet, and by that I mean Ste and Brendan. We know that they're going to get together one way or another. But I totally would love if George and Callum got together, their dynamic is one of caring and trust.
But hey, it's been almost 4 years since JP and Craig were last on our screens together, and its high time we see a blossoming relationship, and not a violent one (Stedan).

I really hope we get to see a Callum and George story that leads to more than just a good friendship. With Eastenders bringing in another gay character (Ben) it gives me hope that TV soaps today can have more than one gay pairing on their show at a time.

Well right now Hollyoaks has 3 gay characters and it has always had at least 2 gay or bi characters at a time. Ste also has a big storyline coming up so between the 3 gay men (that we know of) Hollyoaks seems to be representing pretty well.
You can also watch the full episodes at TVmogel08 channel on YT (because the characters are so integrated, I find it helps with Hollyoaks to just watch the entire show) ;-)
For instance, if you only watch George clips, you don't get Callum's major love affair with his former female teacher and romance with Maddie so then you don't know what's going on in Callum's life when he's not with George.

To be honest, I would love Cullum to be gay or at least bi. His caring nature and calmness make him a great person. And I must admit, I am so shallow that I didn't bother to notice George as he isn't that appealing to look at on the show. But his chemistry and dynamics with Cullum has made me warmed up to him and secretly rooting for him, hoping his life will become better. I am definitely following this storyline more than Ste/Brendan's one (as I feel that it isn't going anywhere).
But from what I have read from the youtube comments, alot of viewers are hoping George and Cullum to become a pair. But partly because Cullum has been so sweet and you don't usually get that from straight guys being that sweet their girlfriends let alone towards a gay friend. But if Cullum is not bi or gay, I will not be disappointed though, coz he is being such an amazing friend so far.

My Thoughts Exactly ! The latest scenes of the two of them have been such a pleasure to watch.. Watching Callum so strong and protective taking care of George make me wish they'd end up more than just close friends..

I agree with both of you, I love the characters as indivuals as well. Callum seems very wise and straight edge, George is honest and very camp, they complament each other so well. I think they'll make a very intresting couple. Their falling for each other without realizing it.

Yup. I do agree they make an unlikely pair. In terms of looks and personality. But it's because of this stark difference between the two makes them so interesting and unique. You just want to secretly root for them and hope they will end up together. But either way, the writers are teasing us so much with Cullim's good nature and him being (over)protective of George. And I am interested in George's background story and how did it exactly happen when he got kicked out of the house when his parents discovered he's gay. Or that is not the real reason and the actual reason is that he did really bad. It has been a while since I am pretty interested in a couple (Ron and Edwin did it for me, and look what the writers have done. Shall not go there) *Fingers crossed for Cullum + George pairing*
If it ever happens, what names will be good to name after this pair? "Geolum"? "Cullorge"?

^OMG if that is the case, it looks weird. Ste looks younger than Callum to be honest. LOL! But I remember reading off somewhere about them possibly knowing each other from Juvie. Not sure if I remember correctly. And also, there is this Ally guy that Ste will get to know. I believe I read all these from the spoilers thread
However, does anyone know the background story of Cullum. He looks so mysterious to me. And wikipedia does have much on his background.
And I have made a mistake to Callum's name in my previous post. Hahaha. Callorge?
And on Callum, there is this calmness about him that I love about him. You don't usually get this from alot of TV characters. I think it is nice to have this kind of person as your friend or your partner as when lives get hectic, these people will bring comfort and calmness into your lives.
And on a very shallow note, I like Laurie Duncan. He is not very photogenic, but he looks exceptionally good in motion. And with that cute moustache, he reminded me of a younger version of James Franco (another personal favourite).

Callum is 16. He is the brother of Ash (one of the Uni students) His last relationship was with his teacher who left her husband for Callum. It was a big scandal and he transferred schools. He lives with his mom and sister (Ash).
As far as we know so far, he hasn't been in any legal trouble.
He was very quiet and sullen when he first came to Hollyoaks because the affair with his teacher had been very publicized in a local paper as a "scandal" and she had gone back to her husband and broken Callum's heart.
But then she came back to Hollyoaks after leaving her husband (just when Callum and Maddie were getting to know each other) and Callum was going to run away with her but realized he liked Maddie more and he didn't want to leave school, etc.
That's where things were at the time of the holidays when Maddie went away and Callum and George got assigned each other as partners for a debate project at school.
I think Ste is somewhere between 22 and 24 years old.

Ste is 21 turning 22. Kieron Richardson said he was 20 when the gay storyline started, which was in 2010. His birth year is most likely 1990. So, he'll be 22 this year .

I hope we get more than a friendship with these two. It would be a welcome relief to have a semi-light, fun, even normal storyline between 2 gay/bi teenage boys. I'm sick of all this doom and gloom in today's gay storylines.
I love how comfortable these boys are together and even make fun of their relationship.
"OH, and don't go bragging to everyone that you finally spent the night with me after your weeks of shameless flirting."
Callum chuckles and replies. "Like I said; it's our little secret."

On other boards they call the pairing 'Gollum'! I do hope they continue with this. Everything seems a bit 'bitty' at the moment. I like storylines to last for a long time so you can get involved.

I like these two ... just at this point can't see anything than a really close friendship. Even though Callum shows a lot of concern for George, I don't know ... I don't want to get to invested with all these rumors (example: potential pairing between Callum/Ste) out there. At this point I do believe that Callum needs to get away from Maddie ... anything else ... well, let's wait.^^

Here, actor Steven Roberts - who plays George - chats to Digital Spy about the gritty storyline.
Why doesn't George confide in Callum over his latest setback?
"Well, George really does appreciate the support that Callum has given him so far. Callum has kept his secret, made things easier with his other friends like Maddie and Tilly - and without that, George would be in dire straits.
"But I think George is quite proud at the same time, and he wants to look after himself. Also, George feels like if people know what's going on, his secret could spread or he could be tracked down. That's something that George can't really deal with at the moment."
What's your take on the George and Callum friendship?
"I think it's really nice, as George has really broken down Callum's barriers - and likewise Callum with George. I don't think it's the most likely of friendships, as they're very different in a lot of ways. But I think they've found the best in each other, and they've seen other's vulnerabilities. Because of that, they've built up a friendship that really works."
We seem to see a different side of George when he's with Callum, don't we?
"Definitely. As much as George loves Maddie, Tilly and the rest of the sixth form gang, they don't know his situation so he's still putting up his front. But with Callum, he can be the more serious George and he doesn't have to make everyone laugh or fall back on the persona that he's created for the gang. Callum gets to see the real George, I suppose!"

I have enjoyed Callum and George as friends but I have never been one who wanted them to end up getting together. To me it would have been very out of character for George to date his best friends ex. For someone who cared so much about Maddie I could not see him doing something like that because it could have very easily destoryed their firendship.
